This is so interesting. When Ben Franklin hung out with the Iroquois League, looking for a way to make a Nation out of 13 very different colonies, he decided to adopt the way the Iroquois did democracy. All of the five (or sometimes six) different Nations had their different locations, spoke different languages, had different clan systems and customs, and yet united (after warring with each other) to form one League. So Franklin took their ideas, and their ideas of democracy, and suggested to the new government that they do things this way. In the 1800s, the Iroquois visited, to check on the new nation and see how they were doing. They were toured around, and at the end said, "Where are your women?!" It was all men, no women. The Iroquois were VERY clear that yes, the men did most of the work that we would see as senators and representatives, and it was the men who went to war, but it was the GRANDMOTHERS who were really in charge. The men could make all of the decisions they wanted to make, but first they had to pass it through the council of GRANDMOTHERS. THAT's the piece that we've been missing since the US Government was formed. Only the Grandmothers could say "yes" to allowing their sons, husbands, fathers and grandfathers to go to war and possibly never return home. Their voice was crucial in the government. We could say that the Supreme Court has performed this function, but, unless the Supreme Court had always been all women, it's not true. And another VERY interesting astrological fact that y'all didn't mention, and maybe didn't know about: on Friday President Biden formally APOLOGIZED to Native people, standing on the Navajo Nation, for all of the atrocities committed against Native people by the US Government. And Joe gave a long list of things that were going to be set in motion starting now that will improve the lives of Native people, today. I hope Deb Haaland will be the first of MANY Native women to take their places in the new administration and many to come. I've been crying off and on the whole time since hearing this news and watching Joe speaking to the Navajos. I LIVED TO SEE THIS. I've been asking for this since the '90s, when I learned the true history of Native Americans. We NEED something like a South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission to begin to repair the harm of the past many hundreds of years. This is just the first step, but a great one, and THANK YOU, JOE BIDEN. His apology was forceful and genuine.
@@aliceputt3133 ❤ Isn't it amazing what we were NOT taught in school?! I had to learn anything I know today in my 30s and 40s and by visiting reservations in South Dakota and going to powwows with a Cherokee friend of mine. ...and THEN...I learned why I was so obsessed with learning Native history: I have a tiny little bit of Native blood myself. And that's a WHOLE 'nother story. My grandmother's grandmother could not tell the truth to her own children, because if she did, they would be killed. So we all grew up having no idea that we have any connection to Native American genealogy. All I had was her photograph, and for years I'd look at her picture and wonder just who she was.

It was when I was getting close to graduating with my master's degree that my husband started freaking out, thinking he would no longer be needed in my life if I didn't have to depend on him anymore for financial support for a roof over my head and food on the table. And well...that's what basically happened. That was the first time he EVER threatened to hit me. I got away before he became known to himself and others as a "spouse abuser." I'd spent lots of years in courtrooms as a court reporter, and the testimony always was for spouse abusers, that if a person can *think* it, and *say* it, eventually they will *do* it. So, I guess you could say I loved him enough to want him not to know himself as a spouse abuser. Now it's been 20 years since our divorce decree and I've been single the whole time. (He remarried fairly quickly.)

I heard that guy say that about the NC vote. As a North Carolinian, I was livid to hear that! Let me say, those that have been hit by Helene are voting. Going back to the 19th-century, what enabled women to have more choices in the workforce, was the invention of the typewriter. CEOs of companies needed women to work this new invention, because they had smaller hands that fit the keyboard. The women were called typewriters. The typewriter was invented by Christopher Latham Sholes, along with the keyboard layout used today. Sholes' daughter, Lillian S. (Sholes) Fortier, is known as "the world's first woman typist". The typewriter was not created to address gender inequality in the workplace, but it did open up opportunities for women to enter the male-dominated business world.

Women not only were called to work in WWII, but they served as pilots, truck drivers and nurses at the front.
My Mother was literally Rosie the Riveter as she went to work at Lockheed during WW2.
@@aliceputt3133 that’s cool!
Have you seen Shirley Chisholm interviews? She is so charismatic. There is a movie about her too. We need a watch period.

Yes the documentary was excellent!!
I voted early and even took my 28 year old son to vote early. 💙💙💙 I almost think he's bluer than I am 🤭 Georgia showing up 🎉🎉🎉
@@lorrimdavis go Georgia! Go!
Fantastic!
Thank you for the insights! My anxiety levels have significantly decreased!😊
I heard that guy say that about the NC vote. As a North Carolinian, I was livid to hear that! Let me say, those that have been hit by Helene are voting. Asheville has a huge Democrat population so not everyone is a Republican. Plus, our population has increased so much since 2020. I think the US will be surprised in our state. We may go Blue and not because of Helene! 🌊🌊🇺🇸
Praying for y'all for an easing of grief and suffering, and a full recovery for your communities. 💙🫶💙

Everyone is heartbroken by your devastating hurricane. We want to do whatever is needed for recovery although nothing will be quite the same. Sending love to you.
I usually vote on election day, BUT this year, I voted two weeks ago in person at the election office! Leaving nothing to chance.
This was a great talk!!!
@@petgranny194 I am so GLAD you voted early! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💙

Dabny...I don't find you boring all. This is such encouraging information. I find Astrology so amazing.
Dabney is amazing!
I voted with my mail ballot on the day before Milton hit Florida. I dropped that puppy off at the Supervisor of Elections office and received my I Voted sticker. My vote was counted on October eighth. I am psyched for Democracy! 💙💙💙
So glad I already voted! Blue all the way from Florida 🗳️💙😁
Thanks Susan Lynn for bringing these wonderful astrologers on. I learned a lot.

My favorite ladies, hi all
I am 70 on the 17th, single and have a soul-to-soul dog who may need euthanized at any time. Added to that is the election stress. Life is worrisome right now. I am always glad to get some relief each time I listen to your shows.
Thank you Susan, Dabney, and Celeste. Very grounded.
Thank you so very much! You beautiful ladies brought so much information and knocked my socks off. Your enthusiasm is infectious. Bless you all!!! I, for one, am so glad I caught this program. I voted last Tuesday in Suffolk, Virginia. I was a bit anxious as I'd never been downtown by myself. It was all so pleasant and easy lots of folks in and out, poll workers all so nice and pleasant, and the people voting all gave off a hopfeful, happy, and joyful vibe. Once in the building I was in and out max of 15 to 20 minutes. Love to you all, thanks again for the reassurance. I am Eddies grammy and just me🙃💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Thank you for your Nerdiness Dabney, right there with you!. This needs to continued. I thoroughly enjoyed the information.
Oh my gosh! You 3 are so AMAZING ❤! I VOTED last Saturday here in Atlanta 🎉! Wishing all People the VERY BEST 👌 👍 😍!!! IT'S LIKE WE ARE CURING CANCER &WE HAVE TO REACH OUT TO THOSE WHO REALLY IN NEED TO THE CURE in a One Source one FORSE WAY!🎉...LOVE U GUYS...THANKS TEDDY 🧸 ❤

Fantastic learning and great hope for our future, dear Susan, please do it again soon!

Thank you all so much!! 💙💙💙
