I just ordered this tablet through Amazon with their 'renewed' program and only paid $630. The only reason I did it because Amazon has a great return policy but I actually really want to experience Samsung's tablets again. All these reviews definitely convinced me to get the S8 Plus.
Hey Zack, thanks for your reviews. They did help me a lotttttt to make the decision to purchase tab S8+ since I was very much confused on whether to go for Tab S8 or iPad pro 11" or Tab S8+. And I can say that I'm absolutely in love with this bad boy esp after Android 12L update which just took multitasking to an another level. Keep up the good work man.❤️🙏
My only frustration is the fact that it was removed from Geekbench for thermal throttling in benchmark manipulation, a fact that gets virtually no coverage. Some people remember this issue with the S series funds, but the fact that it impacted the 8th generation tablets gets ignored. The seventh generation tablets with the 865 do not have this issue. So it comes down to whether or not you prefer something more thermally efficient or something with longer updates.
I hear you. I don't think the throttling significantly affects your average user though, and a throttled 8 Gen 1 will still outperform a Snapdragon 865. And my tablet doesn't get hot either. In the end Samsung should have been FAR more transparent. I think that's the bottom line. But personally I haven't noticed any real world impact and I still think the upgrade is there from the S7+. I just think they need to be called out for the deception, very fair point
The throttling was overblown and there since has been a number of updates. My tab sa ultra never slows down or feels even remotely warm no matter how much stuff I have running.
I originally purchased the Tab s8 and return because the screen just seemed dark (even compared to my tab s6) and purchased the tab s8+. Totally happy with the Tab s8+, I thought it might be too big but the size is okay but not perfect.
I'm with you on the size, of the S8 had the same screen type, I would have gone with that. I haven't received my S8+ yet, but I folded an A4 paper to S8+ size and thought exactly that "okay size, but not perfect"😁
Great video. Through my brother's old Verizon account, which is now defunct, I paid for the Tab S6 then picked up the Tab S7+ when it came out. Both cellular. Since he closed the Verizon account, I've had to use the tablets on Hotspot. Drove me nuts. Both tablets are not compatible with AT&T. Just my luck. Lol. I just picked up the 8+ on my AT&T account. Fantastic tablet. Having a tablet with cellular capabilities is a must for me. Your video reaffirmed my purchase was worth it. Ty for your time.
I'm glad to help. I tried to give as much helpful information as I can. Everyone is different so I could get why you prefer the cellular version. Either way, I'm glad you got it going
Your original video convinced me this was the one to go for, and I haven't been disappointed, so thanks! Paid £389 for the 5g version with free Buds2. It's far superior to my iPad Air 4 - prefer the iPad aspect ratio for reading/Web browsing and the battery life is better, but the S8+ wins everything else, it's way smoother and faster. Size feels like the sweet spot, need to get the keyboard cover now to take it to the next level.
Check the used market for the detachable model. It has a trackpad and feels a little nicer in my opinion. It's the Tab S7+ keyboard cover, NOT the slim version. The slim one is a little more stable in a way since it isn't detailed, but it also isn't detachable and has no trackpad, so keep all that in mind. So glad my videos helped you! Good luck!
@@90MohsinA It was (very briefly) £539 with an extra £150 off when trading in any android tablet, so I sent in an old worthless kindle fire to get it for £389. Keep an eye on their site, or hotukdeals if you're in the UK, Samsung frequently have great promotions and seem to heavily discount the versions of tablets that aren't selling as well.
@@alleycat2144 this is for the S8 plus? The best deal I saw recently was 10% off plus £150 trade in, with free keyboard cover and free galaxy tab A8. Should have pulled the trigger on that when it was still active.

Ordered a open box one from Amazon with the 256gb storage. Their open box policy made me feel assured that if anything is wrong with it I could return it hopefully it's fine and I just get good savings.
Close to two months at this point, solid pickup 👌. Minor wear marks on the back from fingerprints screen was immaculate has a screen protector and case ready for it and it's been exactly what I hoped for plus the savings were well worth it. Minor grip was that screenshotting took some getting used to, but that was a non-issue once I got it down.
As someone who bought a Motorola Xoom when it first launched I don't shy away from expensive devices. This tablet looks amazing and I think I'm in. The Xoom, good memories there.
Good video 📹 👍 my friend. I love ❤️ my Samsung galaxy tab s8 plus. It's the perfect size. Not too big and not too small. It's great for streaming and taking notes 📝 and multi tasking is awesome on it. Dex mode also gives you that windows experience. All around this is a great tablet and well worth the money 💰. Once again good video 📹 my friend and keep up the good work 👍!!!
Necessary? It depends. Every phone and tablet can break. A good case can keep cracks from happening but scratches can still happen pretty easily without a tempered glass. It doesn't affect the s pen from my testing. So it's worth putting on if you are capable of doing a decent job. I just use a wipe to clean the screen. A dry wipe to dry it and get fingerprints off. Then scotch tape to dab quickly and remove all dust. And finally gently place it (pretty quickly after dust removal). You can always put a piece of scotch tape in the corner to give you a way to lift up the screen protector after installation, and you can use more such tape to remove dust after installation. That's how I do it. To me it's worth it to protect against scratches at least but everyone will have a different opinion. A case is sufficient to avoid cracks if the case is good enough
Great review I'm still using my tab s7 so smooth and fast . I like to upgrade every other generation. I also have the s7 plus I think it's big enough haha
Yeah, I hear you! Nothing wrong with waiting a generation! The good news is the S8+ will get those 4 big OS updates. I think your S7+ only has one big update left. So whether you get the S8+ or the S9+ both will be a good upgrade. Outside of the updates though it's not too difference from your S7+
Please don't be scared by the "12.4 inches". It is just like an A4 size paper. I have been carrying it in the ward (I work in a hospital) since it is released.
I made a specific video on this. I would recommend checking it out. I reviewed the slim keyboards and I compared them with the regular keyboards. Basically the slim keyboards are a little sturdier on your lap but they aren't detachable. So that means if you want to use the tablet without the keyboard you have to take off the kickstand part too. Personally I strongly prefer having a kickstand so I can use my tablet without having a keyboard attached. I don't mind it being a little bit harder to use on my lap if I could have a tablet with a cool kickstand one second and a laptop when I want to connect the keyboard on. For that reason I would recommend the detachable version, that is the one that originally released with the tab S7 Plus. the newer slim keyboard is still a decent keyboard and you could find it a little cheaper but I personally don't like it as much. But if you would rather have a sturdier keyboard and if you want to always leave it attached then it's probably a better option.
@@AndroidDigest thx for your reply. Personally if you were me which got s8 keyboard for free, would you exchange it with s7 keyboard or stick with s8 keyboard??
does it have screen recordering ? i have tab 10.1 2019 it is dying i was comparing between s8+ & s8 ultra but i am thinking of s8+ as it is in between & the difference in cost between s8+ & s8 ultra is very big for big screen dual camera & big ram but for me i have hp envy lptop 13.3 so was thinkig to get s8+ instead onf a 10.1 for many next at least 3 yeaers till thinking of new tablet after s8+ as what i did with a 10.1 wait your answer for my first question thanks for your vedios
Yes they have built in screen recording. You can also download other apps that can do it too, but yes it is built in. And yeah it depends on what you are looking for. I think the Tab S8 Plus is the best of both worlds. Portable but also bigger than other tablets
Sorry but no. You can open up more than one Chrome instance at a time, which is a HUGE thing, but you can't run Chrome extensions. It still runs the Android version of Chrome, which can't do that.
Honestly it's better but not significantly better. The biggest thing that's improved is the 120 Hz refresh rate. It will make everything look smoother while you're scrolling around
i cant wait for my tab S8+ will be delivered soon, im a video editor, sometimes its such a hectic thing, because sometimes work on a heavy side of the video and sometimes on the light side of the video for example like a video that needs to be completed ASAP, and i dont need to open up my laptop and then bla bla bla, next time when my tab S8 plus has arrived, boy oh boy, my work is gonna be even more efficient, sorry for my bad english btw, and thanks for the unbiased informative video 👍❤️
Hello, i have a strange problem related to sound feedback of pen in notes and in screen off memo. After fresh install of android 13, the spen is making sound like pen on paper in notes app and in screen off memo, but after a wile the spen is mute in screen off memo and notes app. Its working with write sound only in writing on screenshot and thats it. If i reset tablet to default, the sound of writing on paper is back in screen off memo and notes, but after 10 min is mute again. Maybe it has something to do with updating apps on google play?
Appreciate that they released 12L promptly. Just hope they are prompt with Android 13. Just want to see after android 12L update, I have noticed that when I reduce the size of the RUclips app by dragging my finger from one corner, the screen goes black but the audio plays. So I have to kill the app and restart. Wonder if you or anyone else has had that issue with the RUclips app. Haven't noticed this with any other app. I am using the 11 inch tab s8? Many thanks
Heya, would u recommend to wait until the S9 comes out, or do u think it's still worth it to buy the S8+? I have a deal for students, S8+ with 5G and earbuds pro 2 for 869€/911$/747 pounds
Honestly I'd recommend the S8 Plus. Samsung has 4 years of big os updates so it's going to last awhile. Better to get it now at a good sale price rather than wait and get the newer one at a higher price. But that's my opinion. The newer one may have an improved keyboard or other good feature. And everyone is different. Some people want a bargain, some want the latest and greatest, depends on who you are
Nice video. I like the slim cover more than the normal cover. Cause I can use it better on my lap or bed, and for carrying. The kickstand is nice but without the keyboard. Sad is that the ultra gets brighter but it's still an awesome tablet. Question: which screen protector do you have?
Yeah that makes sense! It is more sturdy on your lap or on a bed compared to the detachable model. I just don't like how you can't detach it. But the sturdiness will be better for some people
Thank you for this my 10 year old son was asked if he wanted a phone for Christmas or a new tablet and he chose tablet and so I chose this one(the S8+ for the data feature that comes with it so he can turn data on I'm the car and watch RUclips or play his online games). He will be getting the best of both worlds with it. I'm getting a heavy duty case for it cuz he is only 10 lol. His sisters both have phones but he doesn't want one. I usually get them phones when they enter middle school(he will be in Sept 2023). Maybe then I'll see if he wants a phone or not and if not it's ok. Thanks for the review

Help from your channel Many Samsung phones with Exynos 9611 processor like M30s, M31, M31s, A50, A50s and A51, are facing auto restart issue after some updates, the phone constantly starts restarting and freezes on samsung logo while booting and damages the main board. the users whose phone is under warranty , their motherboard is either repaired or replaced , but those whose phone is not under warranty have to pay 8k to 9k to get the whole motheboard replaced.
I thought about getting the new iPad Air 13"... But the Tab S8+ is on sale for as little as $400. I almost have to buy it instead, it's less than half the price and even has a better screen 🤔
Well technically the iPad has a better screen actually. It's got similar technology but it's improved now. Still, it's such a difference in price. I think the S8+ is a much better value. The 11" iPad starts at $999 now. That's insane. You can get a Tab S9 in the US for like $680 (it's been on sale) and that comes with the spen.
@@AndroidDigest not the Pro, the iPad Air with an LCD screen. Pro is too expensive for the 13" model, 11 is too small I think. And I could literally buy the Tab S8+ AND and entry level M3 MacBook Air for less than the 13" iPad Pro
I got the s8 and very dissapointed about the screen. Qhy would they put a lcd in a high end tablet. I am thinking of returning it. My old s5e has a better screen.
That's true. That was really the selling point of that tablet. But it also had a mid-range processor and it also had a really bad Wi-Fi chip that was known to be defective (I made multiple videos in worst quality, but I did make multiple videos showing how the Wi-Fi would drop every time you put your hand on the corner of your tablet). That tablet also didn't come with an s-pen. My point is they did price it very aggressively and have a great screen but there were a lot of other trade-offs that you had to take in order to get that price. And you didn't have a high refresh rate screen on it either. So I think it's perfectly understandable that they don't have OLED but they have all these other things to replace it. Just my take. But with that being said I 1,000% understand why you don't like it. And honestly if you don't like the screen I would definitely return it. Don't wait too long and end up regretting it. But if you look on places like eBay or swappa you can probably find an S8 Plus in mint condition and you could probably find it for a similar price. So depending on how much you paid for that tab S8 it may be worth just finding a way to upgrade. If you have to ask yourself if you need to return it or not it's probably not worth keeping. And there's nothing wrong with you for that. I do agree that the screen isn't quite as good as an OLED screen and especially since you came from an OLED screen I can completely see why you would be bothered by it
@@AndroidDigest wow thank you so much for the thoughtful reply. I am getting used to the screen and might not return it. If the s8 plus has mid range processor thats not good. I didnt know thry also had a bad wifi chip. I think the s8 plus might be too big i need to check it out at bestbuy. My s5e i believe has a better screen. I am still torn and dont know if its worth returning it and regretting the size of the s8 plus.
The S8 is not OLED. In all my videos I've said it's not OLED, maybe you caught me misspeaking somewhere, or maybe I was referring to the S8 Plus in that moment in the video? Feel free to reference it, either way to set the record straight, the S8+ and Ultra are the only OLED models
No worries. It's unlimited for $30 a month, or limited for under that. A really really good deal. Happy to answer any questions. I've had just about every prepaid and postpaid service out there, there's pros and cons to all of them, happy to help any time. Appreciate your support as always
Can someone help me about choosing between s8 and s8+ , my main concern is eye straining , I'll be using it for mostly books reading , and since both have different type display , i was wondering which one will cause less eye strain thanks
This is a tough one. I'm far from an expert, I remember reading that the S8+ would have slightly more eye strain than the S8, OLED can do that to you. But you could always turn on that eye comfort mode if you needed to. And I guess the S8 could cause eye strain since it's smaller. It's a close call though, but if eye strain is your one thing I'd probably pick the S8 from my experience, but you may want to google that and do a little extra research
Any OLED screen can get burn in over time. But I wouldn't worry too much. Normally what causes burn in is leaving the same image on the screen, at very very high brightness, for long periods of time. Not something most people do. Use high brightness when you need it, turn it down when you don't, you should be just fine. I haven't seen a device of mine get burn in, in a long time
So I’ve had my 2019 iPad Pro since it was new and this the best tablet I’ve ever owned, but….a coworker wants to buy it from me and since I’ll still have my MacBook I’ve decided to get a Samsung tablet to replace my Ipad. Probably going with the S8+.
Will be interested to see what you think in the end. Just keep in mind that you're in the Apple ecosystem and there's nothing wrong with that. That iPad is going to be terrific and it will have some advantages over Samsung for sure. The Samsung has advantages like Samsung dex, it's cool to have that laptop interface every once in a while, whenever you want to get some work done. As long as you can work around the weird kinks. It's also really cool to have extra customization that Android offers. But I'm sure you will miss some of the ecosystem things that you've had with Apple. Especially if you have an iPhone. But nothing wrong with trying it out and seeing how you like it. It's a terrific tablet and one of my favorites, especially on the Android side. But if you end up not liking it, don't be afraid to admit it. Some people are already deep into the apple ecosystem and that's okay. iPads are pretty great. Still, if you do make the switch, I hope you have a good time with it and enjoy it
@@AndroidDigest I have a hard time making up my mind, I’m not really in a rush though so I can take some time and put plenty of thought into it. I do miss Android a little bit but I’m heavily invested into the Apple ecosystem so it’s all up in the air at this point.
Maybe you could buy the tablet first without selling your old one and try it out. If you buy it from a place like Samsung or Best Buy, they do returns with no restocking fees. Anyway. Some fun and try out the Android ecosystem again. But it would give you an easy way to return it. With how heavily invested you are, I have a feeling you may end up wanting to stay in the end. But at the same time you don't want to leave that curiosity sticking around forever. You might as well play with a new tablet for a while to at least help you make up your mind. I don't like to return tablets or things from people on eBay. Those are smaller sellers often. But if you are just buying from Amazon or a bigger store like Samsung or Best Buy, you might as well buy it and try it out
@@AndroidDigest so I’m currently debating over the Galaxy S8+, iPad mini 6 and iPad Air cellular versions on Verizon. The Samsung would be a bit large to lug around everywhere and it’s the most expensive but it would be nice to finally get another android device . I’m sure I’ll end up adding one of these to my plan and put the iPad cash towards something else.
That's a really tough call. I'd say the regular tab s8 should maybe be in that conversation too if you want something smaller. But either way, That's a really tough decision.. again, if you're really unsure, don't be afraid to buy a tablet from Amazon and return it. At least there's no restocking fee and there's no restocking fee from Samsung directly either. Even if you're 100% sure you want to cellular version, you could always try the Wi-Fi version for a month first and return it. I normally don't recommend that, but honestly, a lot of these bigger companies won't lose a ton for you. Just trying out an item. I think Verizon will have a restocking fee. So it's a little bit riskier there. But it will be a lot less hassle if you decide to just take a risk through Verizon. I think you'll be happy either way. Android is riskier for you. But you may really enjoy it. It's a tough call
I had an iPad air.. was looking at the iPad pro...I can't make up my mind. I really like android..... so I returned the iPad air and might consider the S8+
@Android Digest yep. Lookin at the S8+. But for the moment, ill use my galaxy phone.... the iPad air I liked it. But I wasn't jumping out of my chair with excitement. The androids I feel are more futuristic. Apple was like, not bad 😏. Kinda like "that's it"
@@yaboyshelz yes, i do not like Apple at all. i even tried the iphone. WTF with that phone.... i will stay with my S20 and my Windows PC.... no more Apple
Wish the accessory market for this was nicer; the keyboard case for samsung tablets is..meh. I’d love a magnetic one like ipads have. I loved my S8 ultra, but ultimately sold it for a macbook air. I’m kinda looking at switching to full on samsung ecosystem though, and am considering a tablet to go with my phone. I refuse to buy a phone with a curved display, so my thought was to buy a samsung midrange phone, the galaxy watch, and a tablet.
I do agree with you. I wish they made a tablet case with the keyboard similar to the Surface pro. I love the Surface pro keyboards.. The keyboard is still decent though but it's definitely not my favorite. Outside of that I love the Galaxy tablets though
Yeah it's a crazy good deal! And I bet it you want the Tab S9, if there's even a good reason to upgrade later, Samsung will probably give you a $600 trade-in anyway. With 4 years of OS updates it's a steal at $600
Good video I like the s8+ unfortunately Samsung I believe let down its customer base by not having a keyboard backlight on an expensive keyboard case. Can not understand why Samsung didn't have a backlight on their keyboard
Well they didn't really release the expensive keyboard case for the S8+. The S8 Ultra has a $350 backlit keyboard but the S8 Plus only released with the slim keyboard that is like half the price. And they never released an updated version of the S8 Plus detachable keyboard, I wish they did and I wish they updated it with backlighting, so I'm with you
Honestly it's going to vary from person to person. You could get 6 hours of screen on time or you could get 10. If you are just casually watching some movies or TV shows on lower brightness, you could probably get 10 hours. But if you're doing a lot more intense stuff, you're definitely going to get less. So it just depends. 9 or 10 hours is very rare for me. I'm typically between 5 and 8. Normally around 7-8 though
I start watching this video hoping it will be nice to the S8+😁 I ordered one and it'll arrive in a couple of days. I was contemplating a more budget friendly Lenovo 11 pro but this one seems really good. Went for the slightly cheaper 128Gb one and ordered a 1 Tb card instead. Fingers crossed I won't regret it🤞
dude, honestly speaking, I was confused if you are getting paid by samsung to sell this tablet, but it seems you are trying REALLY hard not to sell S8 ultra, so doesnt make much sense :)nice vids !
Naa I buy my own stuff and review it. Most of the time at least. And yeah I think in most cases the Ultra is too much. Not only is it too big for a lot of people but you are really only paying for the size. You can still get the OLED screen, and all the features in the lesser priced Tab S8+. Which is big but still portable. In my opinion it's better for SOME people.
@@AndroidDigest exactly my sentiments. just got an order in for S8+, will arrive tomorrow. excited ! :) Now I gotta sell the lenovo tab pro. with that and the black friday discount, I will be upgrading for 100~200 $. Nice !
this tablet is almost perfect if the battery was more good... It drains so fast not 5mn56s for 1% while my other tablet A9 plus drains 1% in 8mn almost 3mn more 😢
@@AndroidDigest u said LCD they made the tab s8+ more in line with s8 ultra first time they did that because they always just putted oled on 1 top model of the tablet? Glad you're still enjoying it
Ordered a open box one from Amazon with the 256gb storage. Their open box policy made me feel assured that if anything is wrong with it I could return it hopefully it's fine and I just get good savings.
Yeah I don't think you will have any issues. It should work just fine
Yeah this is way way better than that Motorola Xoom
It’s so nice to find a reliable review on a Samsung product from someone NOT wearing an Apple watch during the entire video!
🤣🤣 Even Android Police and other Android websites are full of people who use apple products as their primary devices huh? Really sad

Thanks so much, means a lot
@Android Digest - You're welcome my friend 👍!!!
Do you think its necessary to add screen protector ? Will it affect the S-pen ?
Necessary?
@@AndroidDigest Thanks ! I think it's a good investment to put on screen protector as long as the S-Pen isn't affected
Should i upgrade from the Tab 5se? Just fancy a larger screen and I'm considering using a keyboard with it for work.
I don't see why not. It will definitely be a lot faster and the screen will be a little bit better. It's larger too. A lot to like about it
Great review I'm still using my tab s7 so smooth and fast .
So does it heat up??

Yeah that's a great use case for this

Hey Buddy Which Screen Protector is best for Tab S8+ also Does it effect the S Pen Performance in Long Run .
For tab s8 plus keyboard, would you recommend getting s7plus or s8plus keyboard?? Cus theyre different
@@AndroidDigest thanls for answer

Thanks for your review, but is it possible to add chrome extension on it after Tab getting Android 12 L ?
Sorry but no. You can open up more than one Chrome instance at a time, which is a HUGE thing, but you can't run Chrome extensions. It still runs the Android version of Chrome, which can't do that.
@@AndroidDigest thanks again, so chrome os tablet still better option almost on every aspect
I got a 2017 Samsung tab s3. Have tablets displays gotten wayyy better? My tablet is 5 years old n its super amoled. Same tech
Honestly it's better but not significantly better. The biggest thing that's improved is the 120 Hz refresh rate. It will make everything look smoother while you're scrolling around

Yeah it sounds like a possible issue with the apps. Really weird. I don't use my s Pen as much so it's not something I really noticed
Many thanks
Gonna hold out for the 5g version of the ultra tablet Hopefully this will be here soon in the states 😀
Fair enough! We can only hope
Some people want a bargain, some want the latest and greatest, depends on who you are
When do you think the new on will come out??
Glad this review could help in some way, enjoy!

the users whose phone is under warranty , their motherboard is either repaired or replaced , but those whose phone is not under warranty have to pay 8k to 9k to get the whole motheboard replaced.
For sure. That makes sense. And you're dead on
I got the s8 and very dissapointed about the screen.
Hi mate. Can I use a Sim card on this tablet?
There is an LTE model for this tablet. And a wifi model. Normally it will specify when you are purchasing it
Is the S8 Tab oled? You said it was oled but all coverage I've seen says only the S8+ and Ultra are oled
The S8 is not OLED. In all my videos I've said it's not OLED, maybe you caught me misspeaking somewhere, or maybe I was referring to the S8 Plus in that moment in the video? Feel free to reference it, either way to set the record straight, the S8+ and Ultra are the only OLED models
is Mint Mobile GSM or CDMA?
They technically use T-Mobile towers. GSM

Can someone help me about choosing between s8 and s8+ , my main concern is eye straining , I'll be using it for mostly books reading , and since both have different type display , i was wondering which one will cause less eye strain
thanks
This is a tough one. I'm far from an expert, I remember reading that the S8+ would have slightly more eye strain than the S8, OLED can do that to you. But you could always turn on that eye comfort mode if you needed to. And I guess the S8 could cause eye strain since it's smaller. It's a close call though, but if eye strain is your one thing I'd probably pick the S8 from my experience, but you may want to google that and do a little extra research
Thanks @@AndroidDigest
I'm getting mine tomorrow
Hope you enjoy it
Do I need to worry about Display Burn_in?

$600 on amazon right now! I just broke and purchased it at that price.

Mine coming tomorrow before 7
Interesting. What made you decide to get this over the S9 Plus?
Hi
This was great review
How is the battery life and how many hours of screen time you would get ??
Thank you
Honestly it's going to vary from person to person.
@@AndroidDigest wow that's shite might stick with my old 2016 model tablet

Naa I buy my own stuff and review it. Most of the time at least. And yeah I think in most cases the Ultra is too much. Not only is it too big for a lot of people but you are really only paying for the size. You can still get the OLED screen, and all the features in the lesser priced Tab S8+. Which is big but still portable. In my opinion it's better for SOME people.

@@AndroidDigest u said LCD they made the tab s8+ more in line with s8 ultra first time they did that because they always just putted oled on 1 top model of the tablet?
