Pre-paid is the Solution for load shedding problem in Nagaland because it is near to impossible to stop hooking and meter tampering....and Why Pre-paid is the solution???...because once we start paying for what we're using, we'll definitely know and realise our consumption limits, also since we'll be making payments before use, the issue of defaulting huge bills and line disconnections will no longer be a tussle....
Also it is learnt that consumers can track their electricity usage in real time which is a big advantage.....If we look at our present scenario, we're all well aware that maximum numbers of meter box are tampered and we are evading the actual Bill, don't you all think that is a total failure in the part of the public? instead of working hand in gloves with power department to arrest all those power thefts and defaulters, we're directly/indirectly involved with these major issue.....I think it's time we stand together, support, be responsible citizens and bring reformation into these power issue which is one big stumbling block making our State lag behind other states and hindering Development from moving forward........
This is going to be our next Dreamz Unlimited.

Eventually you are paying exactly the amount of electricity you are consuming. If we use AC and expect our 1 month light bill to be below 1 thousand then its a Joke. But in Nagaland most of the households uses all sort of high power consuming electronic devices and their monthly bill will be below 1 thousand. Why won't they complain against Pre-Paid..? We all have known people in Power department & most of the meter box are tempered.
@@tomnaga5846 yes post paid we pay 70-80rs a month. Prepaid 500 a week no joke. N kohima no one uses AC. We only turn on our fridge time to time.

The power department must do away with the present prepaid recharging process where the consumers has to punch dozens of numbers. First make the process consumer friendly.

The electrical department should not do the trial on the general public. First do the trial on all the government offices and private homes of the electrical department officials.After that only, give proper guidance to the general public and go ahead with the installation.

We can't minimize the usage of refrigerator n fan in Dimapur. That means we have to recharge for huge amount? Some cannot afford Gas while ty use induction which means recharge for Huge amount. Confused hi confused.

Per unit 5.5 is way too expensive. Evn in Delhi govt rate per unit is 3rs. And above that 200unit is free. So why don't the govt of NAGALAND also do that.

if your electricity consumption is heavy than Rs.500 is too less for a week. Or else many households meter box are tempered and paying very less than what they are supposed to pay

Let it be pre-paid or post-paid, the power department employees should be given proper training on generation of bill. The Bill's are outrageous for many since the last 2-3 year's, for example let's take a real life scenario of 6 postpaid household in Dimapur -
1) a house with four fans, four led bulbs, one refrigerator, one rice cooker and one motor pump( 40minutes running per day)- bill comes to 2500-3000 every month.
2.) Same as above, only that an AC is there which runs for about 4-6 hours in a day for only 15-20 days in a month- bill is 4500-5000/month
3.) A house with 2 fans, 2 led bulbs, a refrigerator and a motor pump( same time)- bill is 2000-2500 /month
4.) A house with 2 fans and 2 led bulbs and a fridge- bill is 450-550/month
5.) A house with 2 fans, one led bulb and a fridge- bill is 1000-1200/month
6.) A house with one fan and one led bulb- bill is- 750-800/month.
In all this cases the Bill's are generated according to the meter reading and the department says that there is no fault in the meter.
The problem here is why there is no uniformity?
If one go to power house there are thousands of such arbitrary bill case's.
Prepaid is good but even here the problem is almost similar.
Don't rush on things without solving the existing one.

Anyone who use prepaid can please explain more in details. For refrigerator I use 24/7 same goes to inverter. And during summer fan toh non stop. So how much I have to recharge for one month. ?
500rs 1-2 weeks max...depends on how many fans u use

The most corrupted department in Nagaland.. Very soon I'm am going to file an FIR.. Sala chor department only comes after 3-4 months asking for money (fine)... At first I thought it was due to some technical problem, but now it has happened thrice.. I always complain but the SDO is an ignorant and arrogant fool.. Sorry but I won't spare them this time..
