    I think what AI do is more of "VISUALIZATION" not DESIGN. Because architectural design not just involves creativity but also the demands of every situations. But really I believe AI and Humans can really collaborate to produce multiple ideas.

    • @pranavmarla
      @pranavmarla Год назад +5

      As an AI engineer I can tell you that it can definitely include demands and design accordingly. We have the technology, it's only an engineering problem at this point. There is potential to build an application that simply takes the requirements and the plot, and create 10s of 3D renderings of full designs, run civil engineering tests on the designs and use it to improve the design.
      I have friends who are architects. What could it mean for an architect if a client could use AI to design their dream home that's just as functional and good looking as a human-designed home?

      @@pranavmarla it's just the beginning of AI, it's not that advanced any sooner, personally I have tried AI and generative design, everything there do is a mix of prompt ideas you give it, nothing is that practical and looks very dumb at some point. Every client is not that technically advanced with the AI, even if AI generate a futuristic house, it still needs a human support to execute it well and coordinate them on site, which is very a practical thing. Maybe in future like in 2050's or something AI will be that advanced but I'm sure human as a species we'll find out way out of it, still the world need a homosapien support brother, AI is just an advanced kid.

      @@pranavmarla It would mean nothing, because in order to get an approval to erect a building, you need a architectual license, throughout the design process there are a row of licensed profesionals whos consulting is required in order to design a building according to a building code which differs from type of building to type of a building, from area to area, from state to state, and from country to country, you have to be able to calculate, adjust costs and select right contractors for the job, you have to be able to mange the building site and get solution on the fly, and you have to be resposible for EVERYTHING to the point where you can get in jail if something goes horibly wrong (at least in germany). All of this is manageable for an unexpirieced person using AI only when building something as simple as a birdhouse.

    • @pranavmarla
      @pranavmarla 11 месяцев назад

      @@Cpt.PickHard All I'm saying is that we can definitely build software that does everything in the design part you are talking about except the licensing and the bureaucratic hurdles, including handling building code requirements.
      Of course the construction still definitely has to be done by humans, but that will change significantly in the next 10 years too.

    • @Cpt.PickHard

      @pranavmarla to your question will ai change anything for architects I'll gave you a sufficient answer that it's not going to change anything, and contractors are not going to be replaced by robots 3d printers cnc machines anytime soon. Curb your expectations.

    This means that the architect Zaha was able to have access to AI before all of us and managed to have her designs radically change the architecture, AI has been around for many years, it just took a long time to generate something decent, but maybe she managed to get someone genius who was ahead of his time and found his language, because now any design that you ask AI for is the same as Zaha's buildings... what a coincidence!!!!, but that AI would do us architects of course we will leave behind

    This was uninspiring. I expected novel and emergent cases uses to be discussed, and also the philosophical impacts of these technologies on a societal or psychological level. But it appears AI is being used at a very basic level at ZHA.

    1. I don't believe for a second that if AI develops to a certain ability, as far as the production of Construction documents and the like, that Patrick will keep the same number of employees on staff out of principle. 2. AI is just remixing what is already out there, so its showing you what's on the pulse. But it is not actually innovating. If we were in theory to Only use AI for the next 20 years, it would more or less stagnate and look the same as it does in the first year. So it can be a helpful visualization, but its not going to usher in new design movements beyond what its currently doing.

    There is no AI capable if gauging the many and broad aspects of what it takes to be an architect. I laugh when i hear non sense of the kind. Sure.modeling something is one thing, but cannot remove the ultimate thinker from the process of conception

    • @zilun

      We don't know what A.I. is capable of. The scary part about A.I. is what few people understand. It takes 16 years for a human to be trained as an architect, then, a whole lot of experienced architects to train these young people to become architects. They need to sleep 8 hrs a day. If a group of master architects can train just one A.I. to do great architecture ( which can be trained 24hrs a day around the clock ), just one, doesn't matter if it takes 10 years to train that just one A.I. architect, we can immediately replicate infinite A.I. architects that does better than 80% of human architects. Among those millions of clones, when one learned to do even better by itself, we can immediately upgrade all to to be better. In human terms, it means when Tadao Ando becomes Tadao Ando, we can immediately have a thousand Tadao Ando working on projects, and when Kengo Kuma becomes Kengo Kuma, we can immediately have thousands of Kengo Kuma working on projects. And they will have presence in the market competing. Many people mistake A.I. as algorithms that can self-generate stuff. It's not. A.I. is capable of learning, just like human brain. I'm not saying architects downplaying A.I. have overvalued what's required in architecture, their words on what it takes to be an architect are all very true, it's their understanding of what A.I. is, isn't what A.I. actually is.

    So the Godly rich architects will have an even better life by working less and just click "yes" to a final design. But that goes for iconic buldings, 1 in every 1000 at is best. Base architects will be turned into the nothingness.

    AI couldn't be worse than the garbage Zaha Hadid and other celebrity architects have foisted on us over the past half century. Schumacher and others like him have sold out to become part of the entertainment industry, where architecture aspires to nothing more than the latest blockbuster in the Marvel Universe.
