You guys have great production with the camera work, speaking skills and editing. Much applause to you all! I thoroughly enjoy your content as well. Thank you.
Good advice. I agree that kids have too many toys. Same way with books. Keep what the read and recycle the rest at a garage sale or library. Speaking as a Grandma I am overwhelmed at all the stuff in my grandkids room. I think that clutter has a negative impact on all of us.
It's so difficult to limit toys and books... I promise, once the clutter is gone, the kids will not even notice what's missing. They will immediately shift their focus to what's available to play with and read!
I love your channel and how you tell your story through your films you both are artists❣️ Haha I know what you mean be full-blown nesting mode. In fact when we had our second Is when I started to clean out a LOT more of the clutter. I agree with you on the Toys we only have so many and the kids play so well they are not over stimulated by to much stuff and they can focus on the play more. Thank you for inspiring us :)
Great tips! I feel like we’re constantly declutter but also accumulating (especially after Christmas) we have one little girl who is the first grandchild for both families and my parents are divorced and remarried so she has 3 sets of grandparents sending her new toys and things all the time. It’s so hard getting rid of those things because we don’t live near our families right now and it feels like those things are part of her relationship with them. Any thoughts?
We totally understand and can empathize with you! One thing we do is rotate toys and clothes. So we only let our children have a few (5-10) toys at a time in the home. We also limit their clothes so as to make laundry more simple, and selecting school clothes more simple. The rest of the stuff we have in tubs and stored. Periodically, maybe once every month or two, we'll let the kids rotate their toys and clothes if they want to. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. This keeps things exciting for them. Hope this helps!
Leana van Wyk, our family uses 3 crates from Walmart zip tied together on the floor. I have tried many different ways to organize toys and this seems like the best so far for our family because the kids have three activities to choose from, example building blocks/legos, little toy animals, trains. we have one big plastic bin in the closet where we keep extra toys and rotate them every so often. But that is all the space that I allow for their toys. This helps keep boundaries for our stuff so we don't end up with too much. I also like how the kids don't dump out the crates because they are all together. They have to take one toy out at a time which leads to more intentional play and fewer toys just dumped out all over the floor unplayed with. I am making a video showing our kids' toy system off soon. I hope you can find a good system for all the toys! Good luck, you can do it! Get those toys under control😀 👐
Leana, our kids don't have many toys. They have a few indoor toys (their favorites), and a lot of outdoor toys that stay outside. Their indoor toys fit on their shelves that you see in the cover picture. We have an older video where Amber walks through the kids room and explains the storage and set up. Their crafts stay in a plastic portable drawer that stays under their bed. When they want to use crafts, they slide the drawer out, and grab what they want. We make sure they only grab what they need, and put it back when their done, as to minimize the clutter crafts can cause. Other than that, those square shelves work great to keep books, toys, and anything else contained so it doesn't end up on the floor. Here's a link to the shelves we purchased! Hope this helped, let us know if you have any other questions! www.biglots.com/product/system-build-6-cube-white-storage-cubby/p810009399?pos=1:2&Ntt=kids+shelves
Great tips but what do you suggest for someone who works outside the home 5 days a week? It is hard to ha e the time to get things accomplished so we try to do it in segments and break it down!
Remember the clutter took a while to get there🛍️🧸🧵. I think you breaking it down in segments is a wonderful way to go about it! It makes it more manageable for you and your time. It also helps you fight against burn out! Just make sure you dedicate that time and keep it as a very important appointment to yourself so you can gain some clarity in your home again. I would also recommend setting some time for yourself to visualize what you want out of your space and some reasons why you are doing this. Write it down in detail so you can post it up on a wall or mirror and look at it daily to help inspire you to get the tasks done and to move forward to keep your goals and dreams on the right path. Happy simplifying💙
Simply put, take your time. Breaking up your home into specific areas is a great idea, and will help you see your accomplishments as you go. This will help to motivate you. It's important, however, to keep those areas you just decluttered clean as you move on to other areas. Start with your most used spaces, i.e. living room, kitchen, etc. Once those areas are decluttered, and you've developed a regimen to clean them quickly, then you can move on to other areas, such as bedrooms. Remember this process is about relieving stress and simplifying life. So if it starts to become stressful, just stop for the day. Any accomplishment it still an accomplishment! Thanks for commenting, Sheila! Keep us posted!

Could you share what you use for storage for the toys and crafts? Is it containers, drawers, toy boxes?
