I see where the problem is with this version and why some people don’t like it. It lies in the unorthodox note choices. The pianist in some crucial points of the song isn’t choosing to hit a note that normally would coincide with the vocal melody. To some people’s ears it sounds “off” and I would agree except to say that the writer took a risk where there is no real right or wrong choice. One could even argue that it was the vocalist that was off. All in all I liked the cover.
