Applauds to your excellent e-hardtail roundup. Hardtail e-mtbs tend to be disregarded, yet they are the most versatile bikes for shredding, touring and commuting. Many people think they need a full suspension, but often don’t have the skill to complement it. If you like to do a bit of weekend shredding on your hardtail, a high end fork upgrade will change your world. I have a Giant Fathom E+2 Pro, recently upgraded to Fox 36 ebike forks and it unleashed the beast. Oh yes, dropper is a must. Thanks Sam, great to see quality Aussie content.
Dude, you're like the only one with any info on the Max Max Power and I'm getting excited about it. First I thought I wouldn't dare to buy a bike without testing it first but now I'm this close to just ordering one. Great videos btw, big thumbs up!
@@SamsBikes Well first and foremost I'm looking for a commuter bike that can handle snowy bike routes during winter. Maybe for bike trails too during the warmer season, not sure yet. I'm interested to try! Bike should also fit a child's seat (Hamax) to be able to take my child to daycare with the bike. Not sure about the last part but otherwise this bike should be a good fit, don't you think? Or any alternative you'd suggest?
Sam welcome back to home #2, glad your safely returned. I ride a 2020 cube reaction hard tail ebike and last weekend got 62 miles aka 100k out of my 500 watt hour battery, I was in eco all the way but did it so it is possible. I rode canal tow paths all the Midlands in the UK where I live
Hey bud, my wife and I both got cube hybrid 500 fatbikes for winter here in East Kootenays BC. We run 26x4 studded tyres and summer trails I built up a set of 29er wheels for both. I also commute on this daily all year round and use it as a mule for trail maintenance. In the process of selling my Carbon Patrol to purchase a dual suspension e-bike. Pretty much sold on the yt decoy. Enjoy your vids, well done.
Hi Sam just come across your channel. I've just bought cube acid ebike. Mines got the 500 battery and for under £2k it's awesome! 4 settings to choose from. Turbo will get you up any hill trust me!
I was riding that Rockrider e-st900 also for 2 days and loved it! I firstly thought the 2.8 tires are a bit to big for my commuting and didn't like the look of it, though after riding it, it's great! It's like having an extra suspension :)
Hi Sam thanks for that review on Giant Reign E Pro 2, I've had it for a couple of days and you were right that bike likes to party man! I believe the weight is a positive as it is down low. It's all the bike that I need, the power and the range from the PW-X2 is brilliant and over all finish and attention to detail is spot on and not mention great value for money. Thanks for the heads up cheers mate 👍
Hey mate I just checked it out looks good love the tires “ smart Sam “ focus make good bikes I’m sure this would be a great bike for doing some epic rides
Just saw that the 21 version of Maxmax comes with RS 35 Silver R fork instead of RS Recon RL. Would you say there's much difference between the two? I think previous version was air fork and new one is coil.
Hey Sam! After watching your video I started thinking about which is the best Full Suspension EMTB for the price. I know that direct sales brands (such as your YT) offer really competitive bikes for the price, so I was wondering which one would you pick out of these three: DECOY BASE 29, META POWER 29 ESSENTIAL 2020 & Spectral:ON CF 7.0.
Hey mate all good bikes, it really depends on what you want to do?’ The decoy and the meta will be more work horses and the spectral will be a little more fun and maybe not as much range in the battery. I personally love the sx but that’s my style. If your looking for a work horse the meta looks brilliant my mate tested it a few months back and didn’t want to give it back.
Hey mate. I'm wanting to purchase a hard tail. I want it for riding to work but also i want a decent hard tail for trail riding with a dropper post and a decent 140mm fork. Any suggestions. Cheers
Mate I would look at the sunn or the commencal! I’m actually testing the commencal this month so I’ll let you know it doesn’t have a dropper but you can add one for like 200$
hi Sam great channel.I am in Perth West Aust. looking for my first e bike for bike paths and trails as per this video what would you recommend for a budget of Aud 3500 or there abouts. the range in Aus isnt as broad as europe as you know.
I emailed commencal about the Max Max power and don't believe it is being made anymore. They do have a few 2019 models though. Like you say it's the best out of the bunch.
Hey Paul I’m almost 100% sure they are making it in 2020! I’m actually thinking about getting it for my gf seeing the only thing we can do if go for a ride.
@@SamsBikes have to see in September I guess. I expect they would integrate the battery this year like the Meta FS if they did. I want one for trail and bike park. Super versatile geometry.
So got another message back from commencal. The hardtail will be in the 2021 range and will be available from September 2020. That bike excites me more than any full susser at twice the price.
@@paulbaker7675 Mate where are buying it from? in Europe the 2019 and the 2020 is on sale right now. We are talking about the same bike? the Max Max Power?
Range is the most important aspect to described in a E-bike! RANGE!! RANGE!! When do you guys will wake up for that?? What is the maximum range with a single charge?
There is a way to ask, as a RUclipsr I earn next to nothing from this I do it for the love, please show some respect for all the hard work we do! Range is impossible to know so many variables from your weight to the terrain. Normally on a 500 watt you can do 1500 meters of vertical climbing if you use eco.

yep not looking the forks but they are not to bad... stiffer would be nice and maybe less travel 150 is a lot on a hardtail
