Thanks Rod. I have been archiving most of your videos and will be using them as a point of reference in April 2018. Your medical clinic video clearly addresses a concern for me which is good medical care. Thanks again Rod. When I am Cebu City maybe we can meet at Ayala Mall for a cup of coffee. Brian
Thank you for the very kind words, Brian. I try to pass on useful information as I know some was difficult for me to discover. I have used 3 different hospitals as medical centers/clinics are a bit rare here. The nice thing is you can usually go directly to a specialist instead of a general practitioner to get a referral. The waiting times to see doctors can be hours and this appointment system should really cut down on waiting times.
Rod, Very impressive hospital. Looked very up to date with their equipment. We have just been looking for a place to do an MRI. We may have to take a trip about an hour south of us to find a hospital that can perform this. None of our hospitals in our town have that capabilities. One of the advantages you have being there in Cebu. I would really think about using that hospital if I was closer. Knocking on wood, I have stayed pretty healthy up to this point in my life.
Cagayan Valley Isabela and Beyond - post on your channel (we subscribe to you too) how much you pay for the MRI please. It is $200US in Mexico right now. We are curious which country has the better deal.
would think many hospitals in the west would envy the standard of equipment they have, looks really top class place run by people who sound like they know what they are doing as well.
Very nice.... clean...friendly staff...speak English well...that’s nice....my hubby was in Chong Hua Hosp for 3 days...they were just as nice as well...thnx
They are open to all but market to expats and medical tourists as well so clear English is very important here. I have also been to Chong Hua for a Dr visit. Thanks for watching Milo.
A really state of the art looking facility, Rod... Very accommodating that they escorted you through an in depth tour, especially unannounced. Everyone seemed to have a good command of English as well... Do they have a website as well?? Thanks for sharing...
Good English, very competent and professional. I believe you can also set up appointments on their website so check it out. MAAYO MEDICAL. MAAYO Hotel is a separate site but in the same towers. Thanks for watching Bruce.
Appears to be a great alternative to waiting in lines at hospitals here to see a doctor. They have a great staff, equipment and labs to take care of many things on site. The doctor consultation fees were similar to what I have found elsewhere in the hospitals here at 350-800 pesos. Thanks for watching Scot.
Thanks for the tour Rod. Very nice medical clinic with up to date equipments. Hope you could tour also the new Chong Hwa hospital in Mandaue city. Edwin
Going back to Cebu in April. Thanks for a great video and the information. Just got through seeing my doctor here in Oregon and the office visit to check my throat was 228 dollars. The cost here in the states is just insane to see a doctor. If you have any other issues while visiting the doctor, they charge you for that too. I think I will check out the MAAYO Medical Center while I'm in Cebu this time to get checked out. Again, thanks for the information, you do a great job Rod.
Thank you for this visit and great video. It looks like a beautiful and welcoming place. It seems that they put a big amount of money in it (building, medical devices such as CT scan, MRI etc..). Hope there will be a huge crowd soon, waiting in long lines so they can get there money back. (I've found a video on Sunstar Web TV were they talk about "affordable rates, as prizing of services are filipino oriented". Tc Rod.
They are open to everyone and market to expats and medical tourism people but they have to be competitive. It is an impressive facility and one should be able to make an appointment online. That sure beats waiting in line to see a doctor. Thanks for watching Shineamen.
Hi Rod, I'm really impressed with all the offerings there at the center, and how high tech all the equipment seemed to be. Very clean. I've read about this new center in the local newspaper, but had some concerns personally--I wonder in an emergency if one might be best served/expedited in a private hospital setting as opposed to being first referred through Maayo Medical Center. Did they talk to you about what their hospital affiliations are? Do they refer a patient to specific hospitals in their affiliation/group or does a patient have a choice in which hospital they might be sent to? Also, for such a new and sophisticated facility--are the prices significantly higher than out-patient visits in let's say Chong Hua or one of the Doctor's hospitals? Anyway--this place seems to be "raising the bar" for professional and efficient looking services, so I'm sure they'll be popular with many locals, tourists, and foreign residents here in Cebu. Thanks for sharing all this info Rod.
I learned much on this tour but there are many questions you would have to ask them. I am sure you could go to the hospital of your choice. I have found that many doctors in Cebu City practice at 2 or more hospitals and that may be the case with these doctors as well. Many surgeries done in the USA now are outpatient. I had a gallbladder removed 3 years ago outpatient. In 3 hours I was back home. They are open to everyone and accept many of the popular insurances here in the Philippines. They do market to the expat and medical tourism groups as well. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts Regina.
Yes-- a lot of questions that a potential patient might ask and research. Last year my husband was in a motorcycle accident. He was rushed to the closest to us hospital, Mendero Medical Center in Consolacion. I observed that the doctor who attended to him was in-house, but the surgeons were free-lance doctors that only seemed to be affiliated with particular hospitals in Cebu City. That's what made me wonder if these doctors at Maayo were affiliated with only particular hospitals as well. Something to look in to I guess. My husband is fine now.
This is a very new facility. I did not get patient growth details. They are open to everyone but marketing to the expats and medical tourism industry also. Thanks for watching Austin.
That's a top notch facility. I see no difference between the hospitals here. They even have a therapy pool. Impressive. I wonder about the staff. It's nice to see they have this in Cebu. Do they accept insurance ?
They mentioned Maxicare and Intellicare which are popular here in the Philippines. PhilHealth was in process and I am not sure about others. I am sure they are adding others as this is a very new facility. Thanks for watching E CABen.
Initial doctor consultations are in line with what I have seen in hospitals and clinics here in Cebu City and Manila ranging between 350-800 pesos, $7-16 USD. Contact them for info on specific costs of procedures. Thanks for watching Jason.
I was impressed, John. They are very new so still a work in progress. The office calls were in line with others I have paid at 350-800 range. I will be using the facility, especially for the appointment system. I get tired of the long line to see a dr.
This is an outpatient medical center and 3-4 hour stay would probably be max. I had outpatient surgery to remove a gallbladder 3 years ago in the USA. It took about 3 hours and I went home. No connection to Mayo at this time at least. Thanks for watching John.
Rod...thanks for sharing...very interesting. Interested in what your impressions will be once you use their facilities The idea of actual appointments is good "bait"....I'll be living on Negros...but have on going need for thyroid maintenance....combining a trip to Cebu with regular visit for blood work and medication is appealing....of course cost may be a factor 😂😂. Take care
I have been to a couple hospitals with long lines of people waiting for their time with a dr so this will be nice to get in and out within a reasonable time. The office visits costs are in line with what I see here also, 350-800 Peso per visit. Thanks for watching.
I know Manila has a couple at least but don't know the details. Iloilo City may have a similar setup. Thanks for watching Anthony. I am not sure of other cities.
Wonder if they take tri-care from retired usa military and if they do the paperwork and just charge the deductible and get the rest from tri-care like some others?
Rod: Glad that subject was brought up. Have you done a video about the type of medical insurance that you have? If not , in a future video, can you discuss what you and your friends do for medical insurance? Have heard that hospitals in your area prefer that patients either pre-pay or have medical insurance acceptable to the hospital (all checked prior to being admitted). You are doing something for $300 per year, what's that?
Great video tour of the hospital. Looks up do date on medical technology. I was surprised that I didn’t see one single patient in your video. The hospital looked empty and that concerns me. That shows a red flag. If a hospital is empty then that tells me that nobody can afford their medical services. I’m sure it’s a good hospital if you have lots of money. The biggest problem for expats getting treatment in Philippine hospitals is getting the right health insurance could be a big problem. If you have a minor health issue then I would say yes get treatment in the Philippines. Phil health is harder for expats to get now and they made it more expensive and harder for expats to get including raising the age limit. I’m on disability, unfortunately they if you are out of US territory then you can’t use your Medicare insurance. I would have to fly to Guam of Hawaii if it was a medical emergency or something serious. I liked your video, just make sure that your carrying large amounts of money when using their services.
It is a very new facility. I did see patients but tried not to film any. It is open to everyone but marketed to expats and the medical tourism industry in particular. Thanks for watching Steve. Also, the office consultation fees were in line with averages I have seen of 350-800 pesos.
The rates are actually competitive and even lower compared to other hospitals in Cebu. I would guess that there are a few patients probably due to their doctors not being affiliated with the facility yet. I would say, volume will definitely pick up after 1 or 2 years given how beautiful the facility is.
I have glanced at their website but do not know the details. You can check it out online if you can understand it. 300 is still reasonable I think but one might want extra insurance above that.
I am not sure of those details Kent. Thanks for watching. I was told initial consultations run about 350-700 pesos average, very reasonable. Thanks for watching.
Are they open for business? Is it cash based,or will they accept insurance,? Is this only for expats? Very nice place,,looks just like my hospital here in US,, Thanks for your time.
They have been open for about a year I think. They take some insurance but it is an evolving process at this time so check with them. They mentioned Intellicare and Maxicare and anyone can use the facilities. Thanks for watching Mario.
Rod, I'm planning to travel to Philippines and staying appox.6 months. I've never been overseas before. I'm getting a passport but how do I get a Visa? Is it stamped there? Thanks for all your information JD
They will stamp your passport with a visa stamp good for 28 days or so when you arrive if you are from an approved nation and many nations are on that list. You have to go to an immigration office before that date expires to get an extension for 1 month. The 2nd time you go to renew your visa you should be able to get a 2 month extension and then a 6 month extension. Thanks for watching JD S.
This is an outpatient medical center. Testing, diagnostics, treatment, etc. If hospitalization is required, they would facilitate that. The dr consultations are inline with what I have seen here in Cebu City and Manila in the range of 350-800 pesos or $7-16 USD. I do not have resumes from the doctors but they use real doctors. They offer services to all but market to expats and people interested in medical tourism. Thanks for watching George.

Great find, great info, great service to your viewers - THANKS!
Thanks for watching acepapd.
Great video, I've shared with all I think can use it. Cheers, Ralph
Thanks for watching and sharing Ralph. I plan to use the facility when needed.
thanks for the tour, good to know this is now available as another option in the cebu area. :)
I was impressed Reekay and will be using the facility when and if I need medical treatment. Thanks for watching and welcome to Cebu.
Rod,
Very impressive hospital. Looked very up to date with their equipment. We have just been looking for a place to do an MRI. Eat more garlic! lol
I was impressed, Steve. It is a very new facility so I was fortunate to get the thorough tour by Angel. I plan to use it when needed.
Cagayan Valley Isabela and Beyond - post on your channel (we subscribe to you too) how much you pay for the MRI please. It is $200US in Mexico right now. We are curious which country has the better deal.
Joe B,
I will do my best to post on this. I am not there to do a video right now, so I will do what I can.

Yes, I was impressed also Trevor.

Thanks for watching Henry.

Good English, very competent and professional. I believe you can also set up appointments on their website so check it out. MAAYO MEDICAL. MAAYO Hotel is a separate site but in the same towers.
Thanks for watching Bruce.
Beautiful Facility and more Beautiful staff Nurses. What could you ask for?. Hahaha. Nice vid rod. Ur first to cover this one.
I was impressed as well.
great video Rod, hope u can make more if u decide to use the facility and its services in future. thx
The Philippines and Cebu City is making progress and this is some of it. I do plan to use the facility when I need medical. Thanks for watching Frank.
Rod very excellent find. it looks nice and clean as as do the people that work there. good job
I was impressed by everything about it and the professionalism of the nurses and staff. Thanks for watching boogieman.
Rod. As usual, you are the right man at the right place. You definitely make it easy of us whom are planing to come down to Cebu :-). Thank you
Thanks for the kind words Jakob. Just passing on a little info as I learn it.
Wow. They have it all. Very friendly staff. Not cheep I'll bet. Thank you for another very informative journey!
Appears to be a great alternative to waiting in lines at hospitals here to see a doctor. They have a great staff, equipment and labs to take care of many things on site. Thanks good to know about this place I will check it out
Thanks for watching Oscar. I think there website offers the option to make an appointment as well.
Fantastic video..Thank You.
Thanks for watching Dennis.
Thanks for the tour Rod. Very nice medical clinic with up to date equipments. Hope you could tour also the new Chong Hwa hospital in Mandaue city. Edwin
I have used the Chong Hua Hospital in Mandaue City and included a little info in a video about dr costs, etc. Thanks for watching Edwin.
Awesome video Rod...surprised that they let you tour everything...probably wouldn't happen in the states
They were very gracious to give me the thorough tour. Thanks for watching Dieselman.

They also have "Executive" checkups like several other hospitals where you have several items checked. Thanks for watching Faron.
A good tour and breakdown of their facility.
Thanks for watching Max. I was impressed.
Thank you for this visit and great video. It looks like a beautiful and welcoming place. It seems that they put a big amount of money in it (building, medical devices such as CT scan, MRI etc..). Hi Rod. I hope they'll open another medical center similar to this in bacolod city. I'm very impressed. Thank you for sharing.
It is nice to have this option, Jane. Thanks for watching.
Hi Rod, I'm really impressed with all the offerings there at the center, and how high tech all the equipment seemed to be. Very clean. 🍎 magandang araw 📷 👌 salamat
Thanks for watching Sandy.
Another great video!
Thanks Rod.
But where is everyone?
I've never seen such an empty hospital.

A great comprehensive video Rod. Is it also a hospital to stay in or just a diagnosis center? any connection with the Mayo Clinic in America?
This is an outpatient medical center and 3-4 hour stay would probably be max. I had outpatient surgery to remove a gallbladder 3 years ago in the USA. It took about 3 hours and I went home. No connection to Mayo at this time at least. Thanks for watching John.

This is a very new and useful option for medical treatment. It is good to see this progress here in Cebu City area. Thanks for watching dlorbieski.
Looks like a really nice and capable facility. Hope none of us ever have to go there! lol

Excellent tour Rod. looks like a first rate facility. Didn’t see any patients ? Hopefully u won’t be going there anytime soon.
It is a very new facility so taking some time to get established but they cater to the expats so I will be using them. Thanks for watching Danny.
are there any of these places on the other island? medical places i should say.
I know Manila has a couple at least but don't know the details. Iloilo City may have a similar setup. Thanks for watching Anthony. I am not sure of other cities.
Sir, can you tell us about the major health insurance available for expats in the Philippines ?
I have been doing a little research and it is a huge and changing topic. I will see if I can give some info in the near future, Jason.
Amazing Philippines Thanks, I've been enjoying your video a lot . Have a wonderful weekend!
Wonder if they take tri-care from retired usa military and if they do the paperwork and just charge the deductible and get the rest from tri-care like some others?
I am not sure about the insurance. I know that is a work in progress.
Thanks for watching Ed.

Philippines. And Mrs Du 30
It appears to be state of the art and the staff was knowledgeable and professional. Thanks for watching Jammy.

since they cut out the z package for foreigners what do you get for your 300 plus dollars per year?
I have glanced at their website but do not know the details. You can check it out online if you can understand it. 300 is still reasonable I think but one might want extra insurance above that.
Thats a super modern facility, I wonder where the medical staff originates
I am not sure of those details Kent. Thanks for watching. I was told initial consultations run about 350-700 pesos average, very reasonable. Thanks for watching.

Pricelevel ??? And how old are the ----only-----specialist docs ??? Or only medecin students ??? How many beds in this hospital ???

Hello Sir where in Cebu Maayo Medical Center Located? Thank you
It is in Mandaue City just across the new bridge from Mactan Island.
Every taxi driver should know where it is. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much Sir.
Maayo means 'good' or 'be healed'..
Thanks for that info and watching Dora.
maayo kaayo
BTW...FYI...
in the Korean language the number 4 is the same word for Death...so it's 1,2,3, Death, 5, 6,7,, etc...
I think 4 is unlucky in China as well I was told. Thanks for watching and that info.
The Philippine medical community should lobby the US Medicare to provide transportability of Medicare benefits out side of the United States.
There are some groups lobbying for this but no luck thus far. Thanks for watching and commenting Manuel.
Thanks Rod, a very impressive facility-----not bad for a third world country, ha ha ha
The Philippines is progressing in many areas so this was an interesting visit, Clyde.
This should be premium service.
Thanks for watching Jericho. It is open to all and the office consultations were similar to what I have found at the hospitals in town.
They may want cater to medical vacation from the world, like thailand.
They are open to everyone but are marketing the services to the medical tourism people. Thanks for watching MUM!
Looks nice but it must be expensive because they have no patients 🤔
They are a new facility so still adding services and patients. I was there quite early. The office visits/consultations are similar to what I have seen in hospitals here. Thanks for watching.
