I’ve never agreed with game wardens being able to enter private land to conduct an investigation in an effort to explore, especially without probable cause existing. Most of their investigations begin with merely reasonable suspicion. This is nothing more than a “hunch” that something illegal has occurred. This, IMHO is an overreach of authority to allow any law enforcement access to private property to expand upon their “hunch.”
IMHO they have no authority to pull you over and ask for licenses, life jackets, or anything unless there has been a crime committed.
Often wondered about this myself. I have to say that I have never had a negative encounter and appreciate the job our conservation officers do.
