    This is actually faster than washing my own dishes because it takes me about 3 hours to mentally prepare myself to take on the task. I also live in an apartment with a small kitchen so it makes sense to invest on one of these for me.

      I live in a small apt too and I just LOVE mine bc my dirty dishes have a place to go into and its so much easier to keep my countertop clean. I dont spend my Saturday mornings deep cleaning my kitchen anymore and its so nice to just push a button instead of rolling my sleeves up and organize the dishes for the next 15 mins while I finally wash them.

      @@ericmendenhall2867 sometimes we run ours 4 or 5x a day but with 3 kids it saves me time. I love it. We have learned how to load it and stack and pack it. We dont have this exact model as ours is about 9 years old but I love it. We even run baby bottles and crusty sippy cups in it and they come out perfect. I have found I have to just throw the soap on the bottom and not in the soap tray but once you master the learning curve it's perfect. Now we wash our pots and pans by hand as they are the blue diamond ones and we are super protective of them haha but my crappy stainless pots we have put in there and they also come out perfect. And also, if you just put the dishes in a sink of soapy water, wouldn’t they clean themselves fast? Fill sink with hottest water, add good quality soap like Dawn, let soak for 20 minutes then wash by hand. I probably spend 5 minutes actually hand washing the sink load, the soaking in hot water does the rest.

    I recommand the "speed" programm and not to clean dishes inside. You can do this easier and with small time under running water. It works 100 % for cups, spoons, glasses and parts of kitchen and smaller parts. It spares a lot of time. At least you can cut the dry-modus easily because the heat of 10 minutes heat and let the parts in with the rest heat which stays quite long inside. Just if you have the machine full with glasses the quite long dry modus makes sin. But an hour is not neccessary too.

    Yeah. May take less time to wash that amount of dishes by hand, but some people have difficulty standing at a sink washing them. Even after a few dishes my back is killing me. Because this dishwasher probably won’t be able to wash pots/pans while also washing cutlery/plates, if you guys haven’t heard of a sponge where you put dishwashing liquid in the handle, it cuts washing time in eighths for me after soaking the pot in water while I eat. Definitely recommend.

    Having a detergent pod fall in when the door closes is more or less the same as the powdered detergent falling in. Powder is cheaper, but less convenient.
    This unit seems ideal for a single person, and maybe also for empty nesters. It probably consumes a lot less energy and water than a standard washer, and allows for more frequent washing if the number of dishes in the cupboard are limited. Using a tank also limits potential for water damage from leaks. Did you try the fruit wash feature? That seemed interesting.

    I have an SPT Model SD-2213W that holds a good sized load it can actually hold a 4 place setting with six wash settings. It usually takes close to two hours on the longest settings but the dishes come out sparkling clean and dried by using hot water that also sanitizes the dishes.
    When I first got it they claimed it would clean food on plates that was 24 hours old. I actually tested it the first time by holding a couple of plates out for a couple of days that were heavily soiled with egg residue and spaghetti sauce. I overfilled it by what their directions say and everything came came out sparkling clean and dry. They will dry faster if you pop the door after the cycle is finished.
    I have had mine now for about 3 yrs in my motorhome and used it daily with no problems. It came with everything I needed to hook up the hoses to my faucet including the quick connect male end. It was real easy to hook up.

    So I worked on these appliances, and specialized in dishwashers, for several years before starting my own repair business, and I can tell you that your tests were not "real world" enough. The manufacturers have standards based on a certain ppm of debris that a dishwasher can remove from a set amount of introduced debris. This would also vary wildly based on the soap you used and where you lived since the water quality plays a key part in the cleaning process for the new detergents since the phosphates were removed years back. I've been debating getting one of these (this exact model actually!) since I live in a smallish place ( great landlord and yearly rent cheaper than property taxes). Seeing a side by side testing comparison with the "unfair" test gave me great info.
    A little heads up on the "mug " rack and small utensil holes. I had something similar to one of these when I lived in Japan I used the rack for rice paddles and rice bowls and the small utensil slots for chopsticks.

      I bought an edgestar brand on amazon. It's basically about the size of the top rack of my installed dishwasher in my kitchen. But it's large enough to take 6 place settings including full sized 10 inch dinner plates. As long as you stick to a liquid or gel detergent these work very nicely. I take mine when I stay at extended stay hotels for more than two or three nights. Along with a toaster oven and an instant pot it's like having a full service travel kitchen anytime you need one. In fact I can save money on extended stays away from home because with those three appliances, I really only need a fridge in my hotel room, instead of paying extra for a "kitchenette".

    That last test was the best one. Comparing to the big dishwasher might have been unfair but applying the "fake" dirt and grime really helped me see this is a good product. Some of the dirty items in the earlier part of the video seemed pretty clean, and I don't know what they were contaminated with. Wish you did the synthetic dirtying with the silverware too.

      You shouldn't need to rinse dishes.... Normal dishwasher have a prewash cycle

    • @GodleyX
      @GodleyX 3 года назад +1

      @@teshiburu that depends entirely on you. If you use dishwasher pods, you are trading cleaning power for "convenience". I say that in quotations because I really don't know how a pod is more convenient.
      Anyways, the 2 biggest factors of getting a good clean from your dishwasher is running your water until it's hot before using the machine to ensure a hot pre wash. The second is making sure you put soap on your pre wash chamber. The enzymes in your soap need time to work, that's why they need to be in the pre wash. When you use pods, you don't get the enzymes in the pre wash you need.
