Na ostrově São Miguel na Azorech najdete ruiny Monte Palace, prvního pětihvězdičkového hotelu na ostrovech. Pětipatrová budova otevřená v roce 1984 měla dvě restaurace, tři konferenční místnosti, noční klub, obchod, 88 pokojů, 52 junior suites, 27 dvoulůžkových pokojů, čtyři dvoulůžkové pokoje se salonkem, čtyři luxusní apartmá a prezidentské apartmá, ale hotel nezískal dostatek hostů, aby přežil, a skončil uzavřením pouhé dva roky po otevření.
Od té doby byl hotel vydrancován a nyní je opuštěný, s 5hvězdičkovým výhledem na Lagoa das Sete Cidades, obklopený zasahujícími hromadami mechu a hortenzií, které převzaly vládu uvnitř této pohádkové budovy.
On the island of São Miguel in the Azores, you will find the ruins of the Monte Palace, the first five-star hotel in the Azores. Opened in 1984, the five-story building had two restaurants, three conference rooms, a nightclub, a shop, 88 rooms, 52 junior suites, 27 double rooms, four double rooms with a lounge, four luxury suites and a presidential suite, but the hotel did not receive enough guests to it survived, and ended up closing just two years after opening.
The hotel has since been ransacked and is now abandoned, with a 5-star view of the Lagoa das Sete Cidades, surrounded by encroaching mounds of moss and hydrangeas that have taken over the inside of this fairytale building.

Petře tak to byl hustej urbex. Z výšky nevypadá ta stavba vůbec opuštěná. Řekl bych dokonce, že je v kondici. Staticky myslím. Na super místě. Moc hezké video. 👍

Tyjo, slušnej urbex....a působí to hodně postapokalipticky, jako by to tu vymřelo ve stylu 12 opic.....takové skvostné místo zaneřáděné člověkem a jeho megalomanstvím. Ovšem ta temná stránka - tedy prohlídka toho, co ze slávy hotelu zbylo - má také svoje kouzlo....
