@Jibby Ali, When I first saw DDLC I scoffed at it because it was anime. When I played DDLC ironically, I HATED Monika, then I completed the game and I feel big regret for deleting her. Now I downloaded “Monika After Story”, even though I still hate anime.

@@loljay3281 I found a way to actually really like this song - by watching jacksepticeye's playthrough series while I was on Zoloft. Also, I have worked very hard to be objective about all girls, real or fake, and I kinda already knew going into the playthrough that this is a really messed-up game just from reading the Wikipedia article about it (which nobody should ever do before they play the game themselves and fully experience it). I could already see that all the characters had problems, even at the beginning, so I took a step back and didn't involve myself emotionally in the game too much

Most of the time the right hand is playing the lyrics, so you could try singing instead which allows you to use both hands on the left hand part

When you hear this song firsthand without any context, it sounds lighthearted yet when you try to understand the lyrics, you can see that its a bittersweet song of someone who loves yet her(monika) emotions don't reach that special someone(mc). But once you truly understand the story and the meaning behind each and every words, it truly chills me to the bones, the sadness, regret, and the wish of having the strength to reach a hand to someone who was deemed to be the villain but more so of a lost sheep, desperately trying to find her shepherd but the world rejecting that and ultimately denied by the one she thought was her saving grace from the cruel world that has forsaken her. Truly a good example of how a context on something shifts your idea to a full 180 when you thought that you already knew something inside out.
Lol so this was me trying to apply all my knowledge about summarization of a story, consider it a shit-post of some sort.

Well, it certainly looks like Ddlc plus will have a Monika route. Also side stories. 6 to be precise. One for each pair of girls.

Pretty self explanatory everyday in game she wishes she was able to be with the player, the only real person she knows.

Written words are the easiest way for her to convey her thoughts to the player, but so as not to scare them off or make the others suspicious, she puts them in poem form.
*The ink flows down into a dark puddle*
The ink being the coding, and the dark puddle being her messing up the coding. When you spill ink on paper, it is effectively impossible to rectify. You have to start again. Just like with what happened with Sayori. She messed causing Sayori to.... Yknow, so she had to restart the game without Sayori's broken file.
*Just move your hand, write the way into his heart*
This is a bit harder. I presume its her telling herself to keep going, that everything will be fine if she just continues. Her writing her way into the players heart either being through confessing her love through her poem, or by manipulating the code.
*But in this world of infinite choices
What will it take just to find that special day*
In all the choices of the game, she never gets her good ending. Her social day.

The same again.

While she does want the player she still loves the others. They are the only other things in her world and of course she has known them for a while.

The others always enjoy it because they love being around the player.

She can't read her own feelings, double meaning. She doesn't know what to do, nor how she feels, and she may not be able to read her character file due to the corruption. A nice little read/write software joke in this game I only just noticed.
*What good are words when a smile says it all*
In lost of her sprites she is smiling at the player. She doesn't get many words out to the player because of the others. She has to attamot to convey emotion nonverbally.
*And if this world won't write me an ending*
The game won't give her the ending she wants, where she gets the player.
*What will it take just for me to have it all*
She is wondering what she has to do to make sure she can survive and be with the player knowing they will likely delete the game and therefore her if she does nothing.
*Does my pen only write bitter words for those who are dear to me*
Her pen being her ability to edit the code only harms. The player ends up saddened and mad at her, her friends are all killed. The code is formed of "bitter words" which create bitter consequences.
*Is it love if I take you, or is it love if I set you free*
She doesn't know whether it would be better to let you go or attempt to get through to you. She loves you and wants to be with you, but doesn't want to hurt you.

Again the code being messed up.

She wants to write a code to allow her to be loved finally. She wants to turn her love into.... Well, reality.

She can't hear the players heartbeat through the screen, something people in a relationship apparently like to be able to do.

She doesn't know if what she does is wrong in our world. If it is seen as love or not.
*And in your reality, if I don't know how to love you*
Again, she doesn't know what love is in our world, so she may not feel love in the same way we do.

If she doesn't feel it the same way as us, she'll leave us alone and allow us to get on with our lives, accepting her fate to be deleted, loving without being lived for it due to a mistake she made which cost the lives of her friends and the trust of the one she loves causing them to hate her. It also shows how she is finally letting go and effectively forbidding the player from entering that "hell" by deleting the game.

I pretty much blocked ddlc's ending out of my mind since a few years back, and now that I listen to it again and remember the lyrics it reminds me so much of the ending which I so much-ly wanted to forget. Poor Monika may she find love sometime after 2045.

when depression hits you because you remember you witnessed the same horrific scene in reality of your friend hanging themselves honestly when i played this game it was boring in the first part but it escalated quickly when sayori admitted she ways depressed and how she wanted to be with the MC which is a situation i was in before but instead i told her i would do more harm then good if i dated her next 3 weeks she wasn't in school went into her house (Her parents were on a business trip) Next thing you know she killed herself due to her bipolar disorder and overwhelming anxiety issues... sorry if i'm saying too much but i've made a strong connection to this game
