As a Christian I understand the dissenters of transhumanism. But as a disabled person I see the benefits. Also, where is this line drawn? Does my power wheelchair border on transhumanistic technology? What about the metal rods and screws in my bones? What about technology such as cochlear implants, pacemakers, and nerve stimulators? This conversation, especially regarding disabled people, deserves much more nuance than it is typically given.

Jordan should start a men's clothing line. I doubt there is much of a market for his "quilt" or "patchwork" suits, but there is a large unfulfilled market for his elegant, slightly "westernized" retro suits like the one in this video. They're reminiscent of late 19th and early 20th Century business attire. They reflect a simpler time where more formal but comfortable attire reflected respect for a wearer's respectful cultural and social values. I personally would be proud to wear suits and other men's garments that carried a Jordan B. Peterson label.
The state of dress that passes for appropriate business attire these days is appalling. Jordan's style expresses a seriousness and formality apropos of his influential position in life and the importance of his message. I say bring back the power suit by Dr. Jordan Peterson! I'll be a happy customer.

This year's challenges will undoubtedly be more difficult. Looking back, I realized that I was so focused with my portfolio that I made disastrous financial decisions for the entire preceding year. I had to pick between increasing my investments and purchasing a house. After choosing to sell my investments, I discovered that the property I had purchased required more maintenance than I had anticipated. Trying to find out how much longer I can take this is becoming increasingly difficult.

The biggest problem might be technology interferes with natural hierarchies and inter-dependent relationships. And motivation and biological reward. Take men and women: I support a woman's right to chose. In nature the female always gets the choice, who to breed with. I'm not arguing with Mother Nature. She rules. But: my body, my choice pretends the sexual equation has nothing to do with men, or the nature of the relationship & commitment to the opposite sex. I think that logic is flawed. For instance:
Since Roe vs. Wade, about 73 million abortions. But the "Morning After Pill" was about 225 Million. Marriage and human pair bonding depends on having children. No point, otherwise. To me, the main damage is, men have undergone a massive disincentive program, not to mate, not to act morally, not to marry, not to form families.
This profound mating difference between the sexes wasn't even noticed by feminists.
The feminist mating model: She avoids family during her 20s, when she evolved to have a family. Instead she focusses on her own education and economic advantage and advancement, competes with men, while trying out a variety of sexual partners. Then when she approaches 30, having used up much of the best and prettiest, youngest years on a variety of men, she finds a man and "settles down". I think she gives him a bad mating deal. And when people marry late in life, they actually can't give someone, their life. They can't make it a lifetime commitment, for the obvious reason, they have already used up a good part of their actually lifetime. You can't give away, what you already used up. This is more true for women, than men, for obvious biological reasons.
The problem is, 50% of American children are now born to single moms. So if you marry her, you enslave yourself as man, economically enslave yourself, to pay the bills, spend your life energy, work every day, paying for another man's child. This goes against most men's perception of what they want, goes against male biological interest. It's a bad biological deal, for men. It interferes with natural hierarchy and mutual inter-dependence.
Mating, trust between the sexes is plunging. The birth rate is plunging. Well, it's no wonder. We evolved for mutual inter-dependence between the genders, with women producing offspring, when young. We threw that out.
Then we gave women the vote. Naturally women voted in governments, mostly left wing, where the state became the Surrogate Husband financially, for the woman. How is that turning out? It's an experiment.
This experiment was already done, on black Americans. Starting in the 1960, we brought in The Great Society, which was cash to black women with children. Johnson did it, to get the black vote. The Great Society was a pioneer version of Black Lives Matter. At that time, black American family life was stable, despite the racism. About 80% of black homes had dads in them. Then we payed money to black single moms, incentivizing black women to not form families. Then, the fatherless black rate went from 20% to 80%...effectively replacing the black man, in the home, with disastrous social consequences. Why? This interfered with natural human inter-dependence, adding a new man into the black family.
Technology doesn't change human nature. It can just interfere with natural patterns that are time tested, workable.

I don't agree with the conclusion of the video, but I do appreciate the insight. I'm not certain the use of Transhumanism in the title is actually appropriate for the content of the dialog here.
Transhumanism doesn't merely extend to sexual freedoms and personal liberties that apparently devolve into hedonistic debauchery. The glasses you wear, the clothing that is on you, the shoes that carry the burden of your gait. Those are all part of the umbrella that is Transhumanism. The full utilization of our creativity to better actualize our desired manifestations. We are not a simple thing, nor is the history of our species a short one.
Our journey to this very moment began with purpose over 3,000,000 years ago. When the sapient gained fire, our journey to this point was one of many inevitable destinations. A mind-bending plethora of possibilities await us on the razors edge of tomorrow's unknowns. We are human, we sit still for nothing. No path not travelled, no mountain not climbed, no adventure not taken. I do not know what our future holds, but I got a clue about the possible outcomes.. Star Trek, Bladerunner, or Mad Max / The Postman. Potiental utopia, dystopia, or civilization collapse & reset.
My hope is for Star Trek, but my gut says Bladerunner, and my heart fears a collapse of civilization. Who knows. I got Carl Sagan in my heart as a guiding principle, and that gives me enough hope for our future.

Science can improve or worsen some human situations, but the “nature”? The work says by itself “nature”. Would be the same thing of trying to change man to woman.
We can not play God. Every time men try to do that, something ends in a tragedy.

    • @mrfigaloopierre9610

Humans are nothing more than simple chemistry and physics. It is impossible to break the laws of nature, as any law that can be broken is merely a law of the mind. Nature has no will, no intention, no idea of right and wrong. Humanity has been playing God since the first civilizations rose, we have sought to overcome the limits of our humanity. Our power to adapt and to understand has propelled us to greatness, why should we stop, why should we allow ourselves to suffer when all that stands between us and an incredible advancement is our own humility?

  • @jackbeckett2838

It seems that every modern 'solution' to perceived 'problems' in nature - whether our own, or nature as a whole - compounds the problem and creates instability further along the chain in one way or another, which calls for another 'solution', and on and on it goes. If we can embrace our nature and our role within nature, abiding its wisdom and simply dancing to the tune nature plays - rather than attempting to overthrow it and have it play ours - we'd have a lot less confusion and separation with what many feel is missing in our lives.

Interesting snippet. I've thought for years and years, that the feminist movement surfaced because of a failure in men to accept the burden of leading the family, accepting their spouse as partner and equal, and being a role model for their children -- and I still believe this is basically correct. Now I'm considering the additional premise that lunatic narcissistic creeps encouraged the disastrous mandate of the modern feminist, allowing them to be even more abusive to those around them (or maybe become PM of a country).

Ultimately, everything comes back to God's plan. In the Catholic faith marriage and intimacy within marriage are sacred things. Sexual intimacy between a man and a woman leads to pregnancy which either leads to death by abortion, or single motherhood when the rules God put forth are abandoned. If you follow God's plan then intimacy and motherhood are sacred things meant to be respected and protected. After all, God didn't come to the world through a volcano, a tidal wave, and earthquake or bolt of lightening. He didn't arrive in a way that would frighten us, but He came as a baby, born to a woman, belonging to life and life belonged to Him, longing to love and be loved. He made him self small that we may draw near to Him and motherhood was an important part of that plan. Motherhood is sacred. The modernist left have turned intimacy from the sacred to the profane. They've made it a commodity.

Creating mafias and a lot of very drunk people in their wake. The opium was part of this history too. My mother was influenced by the Temperance Movement against alcohol. She was a little angry about my father's proclivities. He went into AA and started a lot of meetings in Levittown, NY. My mother would hit you on the behind with a wooden spoon. LOL!
Women started to become lawyers and over time men in America changed. At one time there was no women in the public sphere. That barrier got smashed down for the better. Right? We don't want our daughters to be limited in any way. We give them free reign because that's how the person's talent comes out. They are deserving of the same ability to become an independent force of your own. Even supporting a man you love. Many women don't care at all that they make more than their husbands. Many people don't give this a second thought now.
Sounds right, all the agrarian talk. All that evolutionary set up was right. The R strategist. No investment into the future. Bombing nature with humans. Bob Marley's father was an K strategist. That is our basic human cultures getting together in the 1800's. They started with the land surveying and ended up in an oil economy. It is the best piece of history I know. The film "There Will Be Blood" expresses this time period very well. My mother and father were K strategists. They gave me enough resources to thrive. Everyone got a certain amount of money and everyone went to school and graduate work and law for free. We have insurance policies for my death and I've designated my monies to go to the females that will have children. I guess we're all K strategists. You are linking the R strategist with psychopathy, sadism and I'm not sure they more than correlate with some cases. Theories are nice. Porn is no good. You'll poison yourself with this. Don't use pornography.
The computer is a game changer. I am "me" plus "my computer and AI" system now. Pretty trippy. I'm so effective with this equipment. We're zooming into the future. What is going to happen next?

As the term of psychopath or now days on magazines more often term sociopath are word that even children know, the magnitude of these worst case scenarious of humas is still relatively low, but somehow yet increasing. But one very big common error that is still yhe one in power is that this is more common between men than woman. Here is where the common recerch is completely wrong as the psychopatic nor sosiopathic charathterictics aren't towards males nor women any differently. The reason why these cases are more reported among men is very simple. Women don't usually have the same physical abilities as men. As in most of the countries around the world, men usually serve in military, but here in Finland we have had to all those who want to proceed , get their low rank officer status or proceed to a professional soldier, they haveto take two tests. First one is no brainer as it is the IQ test, but the second way more difficult one is psyshological one, and no matter you got to your IQ, if you fail the latter one, you have no career in Finnish Army. And how this relates to this topic? Well, now that we have established an eligble amount of female applicants, these probabilities of harmful traits are on the same level between men and women and in some cases more common between women than men. This 'black painting' of men have florished now about 100 years, but the truth is, that in both sexes there are violent and dangerous persons. In fact all the tests show that women are more manipulating than men in all respects even in close frind ships and of course in marriage and other relationships like it. They usually like more money and wealth than men or at least appreciate it more. I think you Jordan peterson, as you already have in a sense 'rocked the boat' in various matters and sided this several times, not so high lighted , but anyway. Summa summarum: We may have gone from the dark 'Middle Ages' to modern 'computerized World and internet connections' , but in some beliefs and common attitudes, some are still in the dark, way way darker place of understanding than others. Sometimes when you meet a new person, be it a friend of yours but not known to you, or new classmate or person working on a same firm and a new one, we all start to figure out what this person is and this is because what seems to be something, doesn't quite satisfy all of us. The real tricks and traits are way below the surface, at least with reasonably smart people.

What JP fails to mention in all these talks of "R-Strategy Males" are Two HIGHLY pertinent facts:
1: When he lists R-strategy male character traits (Narcissistic, Psychopathy, Machiavellian, Low investment, etc), he is more accurately describing the average "modern western female". She is at the center of the bell curve. Whereas, for men....the vast majority are incapable of being R-strategy males in the dating marketplace...even if they wanted to.
JP is either intentionally or erroneously letting women "off the hook" as being MORE "R-Strategy" than the "modern western male".
2: Modern western women are MORE ATTRACTED to R-Strategy males than they are L-Strategy males. Fact. We can debate WHY, or HOW this occurred; but, it is simply a fact of modern dating.
JP being a multi-decade, 1-marriage guy is in a GREAT position to give long-term marriage advice; but, he is in no position to give "modern dating" advice...since he isn't living that life; nor, is he prepared to accept the realities of "doing what works", if it is not in line with his hypothesis.
JP seems to gradually working his way toward many facts he doesn't want to face....namely:
🔥"Men are Romantics, trying to be Realists. Women are Realists, pretending to be Romantics."🔥
Coming to understand the implications of this....many things in modern society make perfect sense.

PROBLEM is women think they can get away with everything while Men are ALWAYS the Bad People which pretty obviously ain't true. There is Good and Bad Men and there is Good and Bad Women but as soon as a Men points out wrong and toxic behaviour of a Woman they are the A_holes while Women can basically do and say whatever they want without being confronted in the same way as Men are even though they are No Better than Men.

I normally like your psychological takes on things, but this one has some things off due to how the groupings are made.
Sexual imprinting happens multiple ways. One being the society they live in. I.E. the DEI crap will end up influencing a few. Matting strategies are evolving and aspects of it can be mapped specific ways. It's a little more complicated.
Second the transhunanist movement has a range of people also. To add the transhumanist movement did not create the pill. The bigger kicker is the birth gap statistics that show economics having a bigger effect than the pill. The pill just helped compound things further. Causes, effects and compounding factors.
The matting strategy of bad picks by females has It's own weird hijacked routes. The females that look for the bad boy or shop jails for partners. The scary trend of females wanting to be choked/autoerotic asphyxiation. You see some in men also. David caradine and such. But back to the point. They are being imprinted for such in ways. So many parts to what your trying to over simplify.
3:23 to the fish analogy. Some fish species change sexes. It gives a modeling type for which fish changed and to a small degree why. It also shows a natural % for the population under specific conditions. To that it even shows how the grouping of those people have been over represented. A lot to say about the subject.
8:22 Transhumanist are not all like her. Not to get into the female aspect she talked about. Females use technology to change themselves. Plastic surgery and botox and all that junk. Male markets are 1/10th of female markets. Even so you see them invading male markets lately. It's almost worth detaching some things to drill down on the bad cycles formed in societies.
As far as the traits your lumping together as bad. You can even find those traits in religious groupings and practices in ways. Part of why that psychopathy shows up in people in the religions. A bit part is imprinting and things like biases that form.
Robert Kowalsky Stanford is good for some genetics, Max Bennett for brain development over time and how some A.I. systems relate to human structure. Darren Brown for environmental and psychological priming of types.
Not to get into some of the weird in matting psychology. Like females changing to share a guy perceived as top/alpha in one of a select few categories. Female pre-approval of men around other females. Herd approval. Females training some men to act worse. Nether sex needs that. As easy as it would be to make long lists of some of this stuff. I think you can get the drift from the post. A lot of things are more complex when looked at right.
One freebe. The female disposition for abuse. Prison populations and male vs. female and abuse rates. Also devorce and lesbian vs gay vs heterosexual statistics. You can cross correlate with a few other things also. Half way scary for the statistics and what it means, and the lack of support networks and systems for males vs. females and considering the statistics.

The simple answer is that technology doesn't change human Nature. That's a silly question. The appropriate question is how does it alter our current expose if you will of of human behavior. Human Nature is as it sounds. It is our nature. It doesn't just change because we introduce a new variable. Human behavior and social trans human behavior and social trans human behavior and social trends may certainly see a change. But riding horses changed human behavior and culture... Building fires changed human social interaction and what we considered human behavior... So I don't really understand your question or what you're driving at...
