If y'all haven't listened to the Break It Down podcast with Matt Carter (Emery's guitarist) he has Toby on to discuss how this whole album is actually a concept record. Every song is a bible story told in first person. This one is the Stoning of Stephen.
truth654567 For real... I understood that the letter speaks of the contrast when life shows us and what it really can be . Can you explain this contrast ? I really like to know .
André R. This is about falling in love and journeying with God. The screaming being God's perspective, showing love and justice. And normal voice being the followers perspective and confliction. At the end of the song he finally understands and reasons that God is a wonderful thing to him. The reason I know this? Reliability, totally feels like first getting to know God and moving past all those walls.
+André R. What I feel when I hear these words is the contrast between faith and doubt. Doubt based on trying to find an explaination for all of the terrible things happening to good people. In the end, his faith overcomes these doubts. This is something I believe every honest Christian feels. I personally have not prayed in a couple of months.
@@juliaum bruh this song is literally about the biblical stephan and the fact that he was stonned to death by a mob of people because of the fact that he was preaching the gospel truth of Jesus Christ Matt the guitarist of emery and Toby the lead singer and the one who writes their lyrics explains it on the breakdown podcast
once I got to ending of this song. I realize two things. 1: that emery never lets me down and 2: I am confident that they could pull off covering any of The Zombies songs if they wanted to.
I just spent the last minute and a half of that video with this expression on my face: :O Oh, damn! You go, Emery! Yes, I never knew I needed to hear that from them until it happened. Good job, fellas.
Wow, it was so unexpected to see a video from emery pop up in my feed!!!!! I'm not sure how I feel about this song yet, but I'm glad to get new stuff from you guys!
I always wish that rather than repeating the "you're breaking my heart line", the second time is "you're breaking my arm"...it kinda fits the song better and is kinda hilarious
Bruh this song go hard but this video is super crazy even though I've never ever done drugs it makes me feel like I've tried them all at once and now I'm trippin major balls
