I am glad you got 'burned out' early in life. You still have a lot of time to do what you love. I decided to start exploring those areas of Oregon I had never seen, despite being 67 at the time, and having lived here all my life. Now at 71, and after two back surgeries, my future in hard core 'adventuring' and boondocking is uncertain. I agree, you are a fortunate man indeed.💛

Brian, been there done that but what I didn't know was the whole body pain I was experiencing is because my whole bone structure is rattled with soriatic arthritis. The only time I wasn't in brutal pain was when I had an impacted wisdom tooth and was given pain mess. What a difference it made. I was taking otc ibuprofen but found out I had liver disease from the ibuprofen so I was put on a liver detox regimen that did help with some of the pain from the arthritis. That lasted 1 month then I realized that I needed help with the body pain. After a year of testing I was diagnosed with chronic heart disease, cold, diabetes and kidney disease. Heart attack x 4 and 2 titanium valve sleeves and 1 pig valve sleeve later I was released to go home with instructions and appointments to see 5 different specialists. Since then I've lost both of my legs due to toxic fluid build up in the lower half of my legs. At almost 50 I could no longer work due the physical pain and was put on permanently disabled status barring me from working even though I kept trying until 55. It was a brutal reality check loosing my position as a heavy equipment operator running an excavator. I nearly died inside the cab working a job I loved. My bosses came to my hospital room and told me that they wanted me to retire while I still had a life. While I didn't take the severance pay I fely I didn't earn it and it was charity, I wanted to go back to work but the paperwork had already been started to put me on disability so I wasn't allowed to work. I waited 5 years to get a sesettlement and I've been stuck since. I've tried to quit the pain mess multiple times and get about 2 months then I end up back at the hospital after being found down every time. The pain gets so intense it causes me to have seizures. I hate taking it but I was told the last time I'm showing altered brain activity from the seizures and the next time could be my last. When you get so down you could care less whether you live or die you know it's time to ask for help and I did get help so I'm good now but I have to say it's better to ask than just not bothering

Your the first channel that I ever watched that had winter camping. That year I started camping and got the nerve up to winter camp with my cat. You teach me so much about this lifestyle and the do's and don'ts. I learned about how to tell good wood from bad wood. What 4 a for season tent is. Brian don't think for one moment that your channel is not helping people. You made me find a passion for camping and a new found freedom.. You keep 100% real! Much love and light xoxoxo kisses to Meadow and your beloved Sierra!

For five years of my life I was on 40 different anti-depressants I was not me whatsoever I never laughed. I never smiled. I just existed so one day I finally said, I will deal with my demons and my depression. I went off of those drugs. That was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. You have to do what makes you happy this life we live is so short. Thank you so much for all the great content on your channel! ❤

I’ve been struggling with alcohol and the reason being is from anxiety and panic attacks. It was the only reason I was able to cope for 10 years plus! It all started in college when I had my first panic attacks. Now I’m on FAA regulated medication for anxiety and I have been panic and anxiety free for the most part for a year and a half! I started to travel again, and work without being in a constant state of panic. When they’d start it would last a week straight… constant panic! It sucked! Stay high man, appreciate your videos!

I had a bad anxiety problem in the 2007s through early 2010s. I was on a good amount of benzos (clonazepam, lorazepam) and they were helpful, for me, especially lorazepam, I knew if I started having an attack the fast acting lorazepam was there if I needed it. I wasn't aware until after I stopped taking them of the potentially serious withdrawal symptoms. I self-tapered over a fairly short time (few weeks), I probably had withdrawal symptoms but I don't associate those with the substance I'm withdrawing from. So I got lucky. The big effect I noticed (and it took years) was not forming memories. I noticed when I started watching movies I'd seen before but it was like I was watching it for the first time.

I grew up in a cabin, off grid on a homestead in Alaska . I’ve noticed the fad appears to be living in the bush as people watch YT or other reality shows and romanticize thinking this is a better option . While I agree this is the healthiest way to live your life, it doesn’t come without a learning curve . I watched a YT show ..where the family rented an off grid “cabin” in Alaska and spent the summer trying to live..They were complaining, nothing worked, the cabin was literally a little shack, the outhouse needed a new hole dug, the mosquitoes were eating them alive, it snowed, the tarp blew away and so on… When people choose to live in this way expect you will confront discomfort.. Many people today have no clue how to live in the woods, without the conveniences of running water, electricity and wifi …

I find it funny watching this video that the advertisements that pop up are for prescription drugs lol

Love the story brian. Huge inspiration. I think kratom is a very amazing medicine under the right circumstances. You can get addicted to it just like anything else. Moderation is key. And dont use it all the time. Only for certain things like how you used it to help you sleep and now im betting you dont use it unless something comes up. I work landscaping in southern idaho. Super hott summers. I occasionally will use it for one or 2 months during the hottest part of the year. It helps deal with the heat. Just have to make sure your hydrated. Love how your telling this story and your surrounded by all that snow. The views. Your own lil spot. Thats what i want man. Slowly but surely ill get there. Almost got my school debt paid off and a lil nest egg saved up for some land! Screw the haters saying you shouldnt talk about that. I was addicted to some pretty hard drugs early on in life but was lucky enough to snap out of it and have been clean since i was 24. Im 32 now. Stay safe buddy hope to run into ya sometime

Be careful with Kratom. You can get mild hallucinations when you take it too often.

I left retail corporate and have not looked back once. You could not pay me to go back into that toxic environment. Every month stressing about goals trying to make your numbers only for them to raise your goal so you never make a bonus. I love the phrase work life balance. The things is you have to be alive in order to work!! I make less now but are so much more content.
