I love quality but at 30. In this economy I’m much more mature if I’m not going on the race track or your car doesn’t make at least 600HP there’s no reason why you should have $2k wheels on your daily driver. I value quality tires more if anything.

Here's the thing, when most people buy real wheels, they're buying them as an investment since you usually get your return back on real wheels (this excludes buying custom multi-pc wheels because you almost never get back your money on those) and when you buy reps, as soon as you mount a tire to them the depreciate in value.

If you want the best things for your car and you want quality, then save your money and buy what you really want the first time.

I built my is300 with all OEM TRD parts and legit parts/ wheels / etc. it’s worth it in the end because I never lost money. The parts got more expensive and rarer to find.
It’s pretty easy, don’t cheap out on SAFETY parts. Wheels, tires, coilovers, brakes, seats, harnesses. Rock a fake bumper, lip, whatever, people i guess can’t save money for the real thing huh lol.
I usually run OEM+ plus wheels. When i had my GTI, I had some Konig Hypergram wheels. Saved me over 20lbs on each wheel.
Nothing Diddy about running Peasant (reps) wheels. But $20 bucks is $20 bucks. 😂

I only run stock wheels in my Infiniti. Those are Enkei's. But when i was riding in BMW's, it was ONLY BBS's.

Durability of Name brand wheels isn't all it's cracked up to be. I had SE37K Rays & two bent on a freeway pothole. Granted they didn't crack or break, and still held air. But it costs allot to repair Forged wheels & it fucks up the finish...
Sometimes rep wheels make more sense from the aspect of real-world use & race use. They are cheap & readily available IF you happen to need a single or two replacements.

Remember first getting into cars wanted some BBs wheels and saw esr wheels and wondered why they were so cheap until I did research on the reviews/reps lol. Just save your money for quality wheels or find them used from a legit seller.
"real" is cool. Wheels that are price gouged because of the name alone is stupid. Unless an actual functional wheel like beadlock or multiple piece wheels etc.
Funny how people bash reps but run bc forged, anarky, and all these other companies made by alibaba manufacturers. Another thing is people talk down on ESR but esr manufacturers a lot of companies wheels, and wheel parts.
I'm not against reps, but it's weird seeing reps on expensive cars. That's my only thing lol. Mk4 supra owners are notorious for the worst wheels ever 🤣. I always see them on xxr's .
I'd also rather see rep wheels with good specs/fitment than people who run real wheels with shit specs and bad fitment.
Respect right there I love ESR really the only rep company I buy from but now a days they make 3pc forge wheels so does that still make them reps?

I agree on supporting companies and that real wheels are more reliable however, when you buy real wheels on facebook market is that supporting the real wheel companies. Im on the fence when it comes to this big debate for example on my FK7 I don't mind buying replica flow formed wheels for it however I would not buy reps for my integra which is my race car. A lot of people do not have 4k for volks but they do for the rotas ya know. PLUS I would hate to buy them 4k wheels for the FK7 and the following morning my car is on crates lol

Yeah I have two kids and bills to pay, not letting no teenager with no responsibilities telling me I should have £1k+ wheels on my 20yo EP3 on these horrible UK roads. Obviously real wheels are better, but I have more hobbies and things to spend my money on than just my car.. one day I’ll have Works, but I’ll stick with the Rotas until then🫡
