I wouldn’t bother with Gen Con. The hauls I have seen all contained mostly older games. Most publishers will probably keep things back for Essen, which still seems to be the most important. Set up can be different for many. I always see how I can optimize set up,when I unpack. Good example is Ark Nova. For me it is: set up board, open the two trays with counters, grab a bag containing player color pieces and starting cards, shuffle the few decks and off I go. Set up for GWT can be bit long, but then the game is long so I don’t mind. Cascadia set up for two is a bit longer than I want to for the length. Harmonies does that way better for the same game length.

I loved your tips for a new games club. It really resonated with me. However I think you’d have had a lot more success if you’d named it best practice in a club or similar. I didn’t intend to watch it initially as I already go to a club I didn’t need to learn how to set one up. But it rolled on from an earlier vid and there was loads of useful thoughts for existing clubs too not just people looking to start out!
How does annual leave work over in the UK? Here in Australia you earn a week around every 3 months so if you don’t take any holidays for a year we would have earned 4 weeks.
We get a set number of days as determined by minimum statutory entitlement and what the employer allows. But it's an allowance for the next year essentially.
I really have to disagree on your rant about the setup for Voidfall. We play the game fairly regularly and with two people knowing what they are doing the setup time now averages 25-30 minutes for us.
Agree, for a solo it is too much. But that also applies to most other heavy games - I hardly can be bothered to play any Lacerda in solo mode because the setup effort is not worth it.
@@hugocruz2439 and that's IF you have played the game over a dozen times and have help in doing so from someone who equally has done so. Your first few games or solo require you to take the morning off!

Doesn't help if you play it solo which is the majority of the players.

Pax ren is a heavy game with super low set up.
