First of all, thank you very much for sharing the video and information. For me, it is a genre of music that was also influenced by aestetichs remixes (Art and Music movement) where the bases were city-pop songs. I'm a huge fan of Funk, Jazz music. In city pop I find a component that was missing in American songs. A sort of mix of Rock-Funk (Masayoshi Takanaka's sound), Jazz Fusion (Casiopea's sound) and 80's pop. City-pop has sounds with bass lines very much present. Other special features of city pop are the extraordinary musical competence of singers such as Anri, Miki Matsubara, Tatsuro Yamashita, and so on.
Perhaps one day you will come into work to find that a fat, middle aged gaijin has made a nest in a corner of your bar. He will be listening to Minako Yoshida, bobbing his head, and will never leave. This infestation will probably resemble me. 😀 Don't worry, he doesn't bite!
Thanks for the video 🙏🏽
I hope to come visit!❤

City Pop / Kayokyoku are wonderful genres and so important to my daily well-being.
