GST on health insurance has been there for a long time, before that it was service tax which was imposed by Khangress only... So why are they sudden realizing it's not good... What changed... this is nothing more than diversion tactic from Bangladesh issue.. the same people who were couldn't stop talking about Israel-Pal havent said a single word about what is happening to Sanatanis of Bangladesh.... Make no mistake about it Sanatanis, these people are not on your side, they stand with Jaihaidis..

I think it is more sensible to introduce Oxygen and Water tax that also by 18% atleast.
Moreover, government must also tax primary education and healthcare along with medicines by atleast 25%.

Sir, If Govt is not able to provide basic covers like Life insurance to everyone and not able to provide essential health care in Govt Hospitals then they should not charge even a 0.1% tax on those who are purchasing Such covers from their hard earned money.
If Govt is providing healthcare services and life insurance like pvt companies then they are free to charge tax on premium.
Here they are not able to provide such care to Population but they are increasing tax revenue on premium.

Taxation is necessary. Everything should be taxable. But health insurance, term insurance should be in 5% tax slab.

Traditionally a supporter of NDA, but on this point i will completely support thr INDI bloc. The demands made by oppisition are logical. All insurances other than business insurance should not be under 18 percent. You can keep business insurance under 18 percent as i can claim ITC of the same.

I think what they think while drafting gst on necessity. Why always opposition will raise this all things. While drafting they should see it early.
First of all, previously before GST came to India, there were taxes on Health Insurance Schemes , now after gst came,, they were subsumed into a single tax called GST,, if INDI bloc are now so opposed to this,, why they were not withdrawn those taxes at their regime,, and most importantly on a ethical note its the Gadkari saab who advised for these withdrawal for development purpose,, so people here who commenting without having proper knowledge first GO AND RESEARCH ON YOUR OWN.
