    Okay, so let me explain a couple of things. Don’t worry, this shouldn’t spoil any future movies. That being said though…
    *Spoiler alert for Saw 1-4!*
    #1: Detective Hoffman was indeed introduced in Saw 3, but he really didn’t do anything in that movie which is why it’s so easy to forget him.
    #2: With the bed trap the second button would have taken out his other eye and let him live. The guy just ran out of time.
    #3: Strahm wasn’t working for Jigsaw or purposely trying to implicate Rigg as the new accomplice. He was just being an idiot.
    #4: This movie was actually happening around the same time as Saw 3. As evidenced by the fact we saw Strahm burst into the building around the time Jeff was making it to his final test. Also I’m not sure if you noticed it, but the shouting heard from the operating room in that scene was actually from the finale of Saw 3.
    #5: What Jigsaw said about Strahm killing an innocent man was true. Jigsaw was referring to Jeff there. If you recall the finale of Saw 3 Jeff’s gun only had a single bullet which he used to shoot Amanda. So Jeff’s gun wasn’t even loaded when Strahm made it to him.
    #6: The autopsy you saw at the beginning of the movie was actually at the end. Now that we know Hoffman was another apprentice the message takes on a new meaning. Basically Jigsaw is saying that even though Hoffman is his last surviving apprentice and John himself is dead Hoffman will still be tested like Amanda was at some point in the future.

    I think you misunderstood the trap that the pervert was in. The second button didn't tear him apart, that happened because he doesn't push the buttons fast enough. You seem to forget, legitimate Jigsaw puzzles can be beaten; John Kramer always left a way for people being tested to get out if their will to live was strong enough.

  • @rodgill9376
    @rodgill9376 Год назад +40

    Also, there are some characters from the previous films in the flashbacks you may not had noticed.
    The dude who slapped Cecil in the face was the dude who got shot in the eye in Saw 2. The dude in that chain trap from Saw 3 is in there. The chick who tried to do sexual stuff to John outside was the same chick in Saw 2 who got caught in that razor box trap. Another dude who had the venus flytrap in Saw 2 was in that flashback as well. And lastly, the dude that Amanda ended up killing to save herself from her trap in Saw 1 was there as well.

  • @digidv85
    @digidv85 Год назад +48

    Just so you know, Detective Mark Hoffman was in fact first introduced in Saw 3 during the crime scene involving the man in chains. But back then, his identity was unknown and he didn't serve any meaningful purpose yet. The actor portraying him is named Costas Mandylor. Aside from the Saw franchise, I only ever saw him in the NC-17 rated film Delta of Venus.

    I like how you were quick to suspect that one of the plot points in the series would be that an unknown individual was framing someone else of being Jigsaw's apprentice/replacement, even though it's not in this film. I just saw it as Team Jigsaw trying convert Rigg, and arrogant, over overzealous, hot-headed Agent Strahm stupidly misreading the early crime scenes, and suspecting Rigg as the apprentice and replacement. But you we right, as you already know 😁😁😁 ... someone does frame an innocent person.

    finally got closure for detective Mathews( yes he dies, but it was a cool death)
    The game had a good message and was executed better than Saw 3
    More backstory on jigsaw
    Officer Rigg was more like able than Jeff

    keep in mind the saw films were made one right after the other for i think at least 6 years (not sure the time between 1 and 2). they were basically going into production on the next one before the previous was in theaters. i always got the feeling that they made mysteries in one movie and solved them in the next instead of having a clear goal. I had read they had a different plan for hoffman but for one reason or another they went another direction.

    I loved the way Saw 2-4 was directed. I was so excited that Bousman returned for Spiral: From the Book of Saw. Shame it's the worst Saw movie by far. (Even Saw 3D was better, and that movie was the weakest by far before that) Please continue. The fact that you are watching them all with less of a break between them is great. They really work so much better when you watch them quickly. They are like a TV series designed for bingeing. In fact, I wish the production team behind The Boys would do a Saw tv series. The gore in that show is incredible. Thanks for reacting to them all. (i know you've not done them all yet, but honestly, I wish more people would. Despite how convoluted the story got, that's actually a major reason why I LOVE this series. The series may be weirdly convenient. But that's actually one of its biggest strengths in my opinion. It's so rare that something like that can actually be a positive. That is worth applauding imo. I can't think of any other series of films that works quite so well. I really hope Hoffman returns in Saw X. But if he doesn't. So be it. Part of me wishes Saw X would be like Jason X. They'd just go balls-to-the-wall crazy. A clone of Jigsaw is created in the future onboard a space-station. Maybe a crazy scientist (i'm thinking Tommy Wiseau) clones John Kramer. And he makes new traps. And since it's the future they could go sci-fi. For example "the shuttle you are currently on is heading towards the sun. The only way to reverse it's autopilot, and return it to earth is by using the lightsaber provided to remove your limbs, and reaching the button on the opposite site of the shuttle) kinda thing. It would be nuts. And some Saw fans won't like it. Because they didn't like some of the traps in Jigsaw. But i think it's time to abandon realism, and embrace the insanity. A saw trap in zero-g would be so much fun. It's crazy. But fuck it. Saw has always been crazy. Time to go absolutely insane with it. The fact that the Jason Voorhees movies got nuts, and then adamantly refused to go any further is imo the worst thing they ever did.

      The glass box that has glass in it that is eventually used next movie was actually another trap that was filmed for the movie. When Rigg gets to the hotel there is a vagrent that asks 'What the fuck he's looking at'.
