    Lately, John Yuyi has been in a highly introspective mood. I have a lot of emotions, she says. And how I feel is a real part of my work. I don’t want to feel satisfied by anyone else, I want to feel satisfied by myself. Born and raised in Taiwan, the artist returned home after living in New York for four years to be with her family during the pandemic, and has just staged her first solo exhibition ‘Eye Sees No Lashes’, curated by Robin Peckham at Tao Art Space.

    been following her for years, installing the work in that manner is magnificent, and makes justice of an otherwise limiting format - the instagram post. Hope she keeps exploring this spacial side of her work.

    Been following for several years now and her work is always interesting, often wonderfully witty and absurd. I love Rina Sawayama and Ren Hang too and it's a blur now as to the order in which I found each of them, but they're all interconnected, no?
