    Hi all, another quick update. Haier (Hoover Candy) decided not to repair the machine. They provided an uplift number which I was able to take back to the retailer and use to arrange a return. The whole process was pretty seamless. I was offered the option of choosing a different make/model machine but decided to go with another Haier of exact same model. Before the fault developed we really liked this machine and the positive warranty outcome has given us the confidence to try another. Our new machine arrives tomorrow. All in all, a good result!

      We bought the same series 7, just 2 months ago and the bearings started making noise… this is amazing. This machines are made of full BAD QUALITY METALS AND PLASTIC. Their durability is worst. And the company it just making marketing campaigns to promote them, trying to sell their “functiond and their 10 year warranty on the motor”. Just a shit .

  • @adewilliams7897
    @adewilliams7897  2 года назад +8

    Just a quick update. The engineer visited today and I have to say, he was excellent. He identified a number of issues with the machine. The bearings have indeed failed. The concrete weight at the bottom has also started to break up slightly and come loose. There was quite a bit of concrete dust underneath the machine when it came out. It will need a new complete drum assembly as apparently the bearings cannot be replaced separately. I now have to wait for Haier to decide whether they will repair the machine or replace it with a new one.

      Surprised the engineer has said the bearings cannot be replaced in this model,
      As a machine engineer, I have replaced several bearings in these models as the drum is bolted and easily split.
      I can only assume changing the tub as a whole is the quickest solution, hence the engineers recommendation.
      Hope you have a good outcome as these units are generally reliable.

    • @adewilliams7897
      @adewilliams7897  2 года назад

      @@markiebud247 Hi Marc. To be fair, it could have been the case that swapping the whole tub was more economical than stripping the old one down. Thinking about it, the engineer spoke as if the restrictions were more about which parts he was able to order through his handheld engineer app, rather than what he would be able to do physically. It's actually good to hear you have been able to swap bearings on this model. Would you be able to post the bearing part numbers here please? I plan/hope to extend the life of this machine well beyond the warranty period, so it's highly likely I'll need them at some point in the future. Cheers!

    Hello.. my friend, I bought a washing machine with a capacity of 15 kilograms, and from the first start it made a sound like a helicopter. I found that the problem was that two long iron rods had to be removed from behind the washing machine. The problem was fixed and it did not need maintenance at all.

    If I’m correct these use a similar motor design as the LG direct drive where the motor is mounted to the drum which creates much less noise and lasts longer I’m only saying this cause these are cheaper than the LG models and from your updates it seems this was an isolated flaw.

    • @adewilliams7897
      @adewilliams7897  2 года назад +4

      Hi there. We had an LG Direct Drive before this one. Yes you are correct, the Haier also uses a very similar inverter motor mounted directly on the drum. Haier just call theirs "Direct Motion" instead. When they are running right the Haier machines are quieter than the LG machines. I think we were just unlucky with our first one. The warranty replacement (same model) machine has been in for 4+ months and is so far fine. Fingers crossed it continues that way!

    Hi. How deep is the machine actually ? 53 cm it says everywhere. But only the body ? The lid of the machine is flush with the body at the back or does the lid still protrude a little ? How deep is it with the door closed ? I need the total depth please. How many cm does the door, the porthole, etc. protrude from the body?
    Have you had the Haier replaced in the meantime and have a new Haier or would you rather never have Haier again?

    • @adewilliams7897
      @adewilliams7897  2 года назад +1

      Hi Gazi. I have seen these measurements too. The lid does protrude at the back. In reality, the overall depth required is closer to 57 once you factor in the elbow of the water inlet pipe. The door also protrudes a further 3cm on top of that, but it doesn't really notice due to the curvature of the door. I'll wait until after this is resolved before saying whether I'd have another Haier or not.

    • @gazigunduz7922
      @gazigunduz7922 2 года назад

      @@adewilliams7897 Hello Ade
      Thanks for your quick feedback
      Do I understand you correctly that with the overhang of the lid (how many cm exactly for the overhang 2 or 3 cm ?) I could then again subtract these crucial cm from the syphon drain (6-7 cm).
      The total depth of 57 cm (as reported by you) + 3 cm for the door is therefore 60 cm.
      If I then subtract the overhang of the lid from the manifold (depends on the exact cm), I end up with approx. 63/64 cm in my constellation. That's going to be tight. I effectively only have 63 cm total depth from the rear wall to about 1 cm in front of the bathroom door, so I'm already halfway up the door frame.
      I'm actually leaning towards the larger machines (90 & 100). But I'll probably have to switch to the smaller HW80 machine.
      Is it actually possible to saw off one cm of the screw thread that protrudes from the wall and the elbow from the washing machine's drain hose can still be screwed onto it, or is that not possible because of the notch in the thread?
      It's nice that it worked out so well with the technician/engineer today. Hopefully you will get a replacement soon!
