    For what it's worth, this video shows how to remove and clean a Geberit Dual-Flush Valve, part number 241.290.00.1. Having the part number in the title or description would be super helpful :-)

    Thank you for the very helpful video. Problem: when I reinstalled the dual flush mechanism, the grey back bracket piece stopped just a few millimeters too high and so will not snap into place around the round protrusion. The valve seems well seated and I can't push it down any further. Also, do you have a diagram to show how the half flush mechanism should be put back together with the main flush valve? It came off.

    I have just commissioned a Sigma concealed cistern that I fitted and built in a year ago, this being the third one I have fitted.
    Two problems.
    1) It does not have the facility for a dual flush in that half the mechanism is missing!
    2) It flushes with the right hand button OK (nothing on the left 'cos no mechanism) but it is difficult to get the water to stop!
    I have taken everything apart and cannot find anything wrong, but it seems that the valve simply does not snap back into place without a push, which means that the face plates has to be removed virtually every time.
    Can I obtain the left hand part of the mechanism which will enable a dual flush?

      Geberit Not a “normal”, but one that one replaces the original toilet seat. Not familiar with AquaClean, but perhaps you know the Hibbent brand? I’m in Paris, France, and choices here are much limited compared to the US.

      Geberit I just looked up the AquaClean, which is a toilet with the bidet part already in the bowl. I do not have that toilet, but just a suspended toilet. I wish to have a bidet that is added on like the Hibbent I previously mentioned. I hope this is more clear.

    • @GeberitGroup
      @GeberitGroup  4 года назад

      Yes, now its clear. There is an enhancement solution available - it is the AquaClean Tuma which can be retrofitted to a wide range of pre-installed WC ceramic appliances. I checked with our AquaClean team. An installation video just for the enhancement solution is unfortunately not available. But the installation is almost identical to the Tuma Complete Solution(see here: ruclips.net/video/F51kWFsiksE/видео.html), except that the mounting of the ceramic is omitted. If you have further questions, our colleagues in France will be happy to help.

    Smontare una cassetta Geberit da incasso è una pura follia per chi non è esperto. Sarebbe bene che i progettisti di Geberit prevedessero un tubicino comodo, di facile accesso senza smontaggi vari, attraverso il quale si possa versare all'interno dell'acido anticalcare senza la necessità di dover fare disastri. Sarebbe veramente un bellissimo plus per un prodotto che è eccellente dal punto di vista del funzionamento, ma veramente inaccettabile dal punto di vista della manutenzione fai da te.

    I have an older Geberit from 2004 when the house was built. There is a trickle of water constantly coming into the bowl. A plumber has been and replaced parts but its still happening but it said its limescale. Would a vinegar into the cistern help to clear this?
    Is the principle of accessing the cistern simular to this video despite being presumably an older model??

    • @GeberitGroup
      @GeberitGroup  Месяц назад

      We have replacement sets for "old" products - good news first 😃 Secondly, replacing is good after a while. Thirdly, you can regularly clean the parts by yourself. For this, you can principally use the process as shown in this video for the majority of our products. They are comparable. Regarding limescale: Please don't pour vinegar or other liquids into the cistern. bigger limescale parts can get loose and block the whole flushing system. So pay close attention if you use it, we don't recommend it. What you can do: empty the cistern (switch off the fresh water valve first), remove the flush and filling valve, put a cloth soaked with vinegar down into the cistern (make sure you can remove it) and let the vinegar do its job. In the meantime, just use water to clean the seal rings and other parts.

    Will doing this improve the slow flush? It is a brand new toilet in a new build home so I can't believe it is in need of cleaning. Could there be any other reason for a slow flush? The water pressure in the rest of the house is very powerful.

    This may help someone as not all Geberit faceplates have the clip at the bottom. I watched loads of videos and the clip is always shown at the bottom. I spent a frustrating time trying to get mine off (by pushing upwards) and almost breaking it in the process. Mine (a 2017 model) has the metal spring clip on the LEFT side. Therefore to remove the faceplate you need to push it to the right then unclip the right-hand edge. HTH. Cheers from UK.

    Great video, thanks. I just installed a UP720 and since I use it with a Duravit SensoWash Starck F plus rimless toilet I needed to install a Geberit 240.476.00.1 flush reducer. Thanks to this video I succeeded. It is a bit sad that Geberit doesn’t include reducer with the UP320 and UP720 as it’s a very simple and small plastic part and it is almost always required these days since almost all toilets are rimless now. Now I had to go and buy this part separately and also install it after completely installing the frame and toilet….

    • @GeberitGroup

      We do suggest to clean the rubber seal beneath the flushing valve (can lead to running water if not cleaned /maintained or positioned correctly) and reposition the valve assembly correctly back into the cistern. In general once you've removed the flush plate assembly you might take the opportunity to clean and install correctly the flush plate assembly :-)

      I had a very hard time taking off and putting the plate back on. I seems as over time the cistern has receded and the flush buttons do not make contact with the plate. I fixed that my adding silicon disks to the flush buttons to lengthen them. The plate was very hard to put back on, as the small channel holes on the top are sitting too far back. I put two scrapers to hold the cistern forward a bit and working quickly I got it back on, so you might try that, as the screw driver would have tore into the sheet rock. It would be nice if a trim frame was available so the breaking of tile or sheetrock is not a problem.

Also, what the hell is the hole for and what is the pan I keep reading about. There is no ongoing running water or at least I can not hear it running, but a bowl under the hole has to be emptied every couple of days. Although I am not a plumber, I am confident that I can take the cistern apart and put it back together, except that I am not sure that I am looking to repair.
