baronlz I've seen a post on reddit saying that on average the chance of winning a Joust as a Midrange/Control deck against a mirror get as low as 30%, that really had me worrying about the future of the mechanic. The fact you don't win if there's a tie really hurts it. I don't think they'll make a card that makes you always win it because there isn't really a 'Joust' keyword.
Gabriel Bueno Blizzard could change it so that it is officially called Joust in game because I believe they've already called it joust anyway, so it wouldn't be that big of a change like how they changed the minion type of some minions so that they properly read *Dragon* or *Mech* otherwise they could just make the minion text read something like "If this card is revealed from your deck, it's mana cost will act as 10"
Hi there! Just found your videos now and I'm really enjoying them. I'm relatively new to HearthStone. My brother, my boyfriend and I all started playing last month. (We play MtG when my bf visits but it's amazing having something to play when he's not here; we live about 8 hours apart.) Anyway, I went for it and got the pre-order. Tomorrow can't come soon enough. I just wanted to thank you for the interesting and helpful videos. It's fun hearing how people think the cards will turn out so I'll be able to look at that and watch how they end up progressing. :) Have a great day!
Wonder if regent can find a home in shaman - slow and vulnerable to removal, but the potential with flametongue is pretty damn scary. I also want to make an OTK Charge + Kraken deck just to spite everyone saying it's unplayable. Exactly 15 damage for 12 mana with charge, so needs a Thaurisan to work, but seems possible considering how much cycle patron has demonstrated. Probably not a great deck, but probably more viable than unplayable.
Jack Fink Blizzard is really inconsistent with this kind of things. For example, take a look at Injured Blademaster and Injured Kvaldir, completley different
It would be really interesting if they had an "anti joust" ability where you win if your creature costs less. It wouldn't have to be on a lot of cards, just a few to make sure Aggro decks don't disappear from the meta completely.
Joe Marshall From my experience with magic, even if more efficient and anti-aggro stuff is released to the game, aggro will always be a good and reliable strategy. Being very proactive and threaten leathal early in the game is just too good not to be played.
I do see Injured Kvaldir being a good priest card. It's something to heal up to draw cards from Cleric aswell as a solid 1-drop into turn 2 Hero Power which is very common for priests to do on turn 2 (aka passing nowadays).
Coliseum manager is op because what if they make a card in the future that says, "if you play coliseum manager, deal five damage to all enemies and you win the game." Then coliseum manager is terrific, so stop hating.
Reynad ima need you to read this and hit me up got a long road trip tom in the backseat get that part 4 up so i do not have to fall asleep instantly k aight bro appreciate it TSM is amazing btw tell Dyrus im sad he is retiring this year.
On stuff like the Master Jouster, where you wouldn't play it over something like Sylvanas or Emperor, and it has a lot of competition in the 6 mana slot, that doesn't make it a bad card. F2P players and people with limited collections could use it as a substitution for better cards. You see sunwalker in F2P decks, so why not this card?
I think Silent Knight is better than it looks. It is a better Harvest Golem. It is basically a stealth Harvest Golem that leaves behind a 2/2 instead of a 2/1. Would you say Scarlet Crusader is better than Harvest Golem? The times Harvest Golem is better is when it attacks a 2 attack creature or less. Anytime a 3 attack creature or higher is attacked then Silent Knight is better.
I'd just like to say that hexproof cards in hearthstone (even making them invulnerable to all spells and targeting effects and even random hex effects) would probably not be overpowered due to the direct minon damage and no automatic healing
reynad hexproof decks havent been a thing really since like 2012 there has been 1 deck in standard in the last 2 years that revolves around buffing creatures. if you like combos play modern where there there are strong combo decks (twin/scapeshift/titanbloom/) and only 2 competitive decks that use the hexproof that you hate.
I think the one card that might end up being secretly...not OP, but secret good. is armored warhorse. because in a control situation its ALMOST a fireball. obviously it is succeptible to taunts unlike fireball, and cant hit your own minions if for some reason u needed to kill one (like maybe a doomsayer out of your own shredder idk.) but for classes that just need a finisher maybe its decent. Maybe a control KT shaman deck runs 1 of these and uses it as an 8dmg burst with Rockbiter, or 10mana with a windufry effect. but yeah overall its probably shit lol
Yo Reynad! Coin watcher turn 1? Let teach you how its done, son. StrifeCro stopped doing that months ago. He knows that's play's not the one. You have to accelerate a future play. I Jaraxxus coin Inferno all day.
Not really, wolfrider is easier to kill, e.g to a mage/druid hero power. Where as Argent Watcher will be harder to remove, maker it stay on the board for longer. If it stays on board longer, it will deal more damage than wolfrider would.
Tyth Both have counters though. Board flodding is weak to AoE, even with sticky minions and Buffs are weak to silence. I don't think either is unbalanced but buffs are more exciting to me.
rdmqwerty You're just playing a Salty Dog every turn after six mana and the previous one has had to die without being silenced beforehand. It has no effect, basically, you lose 'cause it can't do shit. And its health is bad.
V1bration 7 attack can kill almost everything. if you are playing mage you can bump it up to 8 with your hero power and that kills almost everything in the game. you can play this every turn and trade it off and replay it the next turn forever. eventually your enemy runs out of monsters while you dont if you get lucky jousts
rdmqwerty Or your opponent kills it with a frostbolt then goes face. Then next turn they trade a 2 drop + ping into it then go face. And the turn after that they kill you. Aggro can just ignore it while killing you with tons of 2/1's, and vs Control you'll either lose the Joust or it will get silenced. It's simply terrible, no way around it.
"Won't see much play in Hunter or Rogue because they don't hero power that much after turn 6..." Aggro hunter hero powers every single turn after turn 6.
***** Aggro hunter is supposed to win prior to turn 6 or right around that point. If you get any further, it's a loss for the hunter, because the high cost cards that are available to the other player will always beat the shitty cards + you run out of cards at that point. Could only see this card being good in aggro in a mirror match-up.
***** This guy: i.ytimg.com/vi/xm-vL4R5eLk/maxresdefault.jpg - made a lot of warsong commander based decks in early hearthstone that I loved playing and during Naxx he made the very popular Math Warrior which is sort of the precursor to Grim Patron warrior.
Reynad ,hi I'm a huge fan and i feel bad you have to deal with many twitch drama and wish it could stop you're really a cool guy and i don't think your'e salty what so ever its just hearthstone is based on chance and its not at all in control only can take best route to get good chance for something to work i really like watching you play games just sucks that its a limited lot would like to see you play multiple games but i guess thats just me and also like seeing you happy sucks so much seeing twitch aggravate you wish can just ban all of them anyways this was long i don't know hopes for the best for you and liquor is bad man water for your health 👍🏼 some veggies too might help dunno liked when you went to street fighter you looked like you were having fun and just would be cool to see more of that don't know if you'll read all this I'm random and don't have to listen to me you're you so yea peace have fun ✌🏼️
Disagree with his assessment of magic, enchant creature spells are inherently terrible because instants exist which means you risk massive card disadvantage every time you try to use them.
I can't understand how he is popular, just a regular dude talking, nothing over average funny or smart. No i'm not a hater to all you butthurt fans, i'm just being real
he's very rational, he owns the Tempo Storm team, his text 2 speech donations are the best, his forehead has its own twitch joke, he is funny at times, he handles haters very well, and just very real down to earth and never fake like some streamers. Also his music is nice. Lots of reasons to Iike him.
He's incredibly smart. He's the general founder of arguably the best ensemble of pro HS players and he's also the creator meme aside of many popular decks.
I like Reynads card reviews because he tends to look at the positives of the cards while other reviewers tend to look at the negatives.
Dylan Williams By positive I mean he doesn't call each card complete garbage before even giving it a chance like other reviewers.
Only time will tell
Loved all three of these reviews! Excited for more Reynad! Love ya!
I wonder if a boring 3-2 (or 2-3) for 2 with the only effect "win joust" would justify all those jousting minions. If it would be played.
baronlz Interesting idea

otherwise they could just make the minion text read something like "If this card is revealed from your deck, it's mana cost will act as 10"
baronlz Then what if both decks draw that card? Do they both win?
Matthew Mason if you play a joust card and you and your oponent draw a card with the same mana value, you lose the joust.
Even if Reynad could be disrespected in every other aspect, I will always respect and strongly consider his card evaluation/deck building skills.

really agree on darkbane and lightbane, i hope they dont push this stuff too much

Why is silent knight worded
Stealth
Divine shield
But argent commander is worded
Charge, Divine shield
Jack Fink Because Obama
Jack Fink Blizzard is really inconsistent with this kind of things. For example, take a look at Injured Blademaster and Injured Kvaldir, completley different
Andres Vallar but they are supposed to be different! Does injured blademaster trigger armorsmith?
Freddie Bell pretty sure it does
Andres Vallar Hmm. Iunno then. Wombo combo armorsmith + siege engine + kvald/bladesmith? (not really, it wouldn't be worth it!)
time stamps is all this needs to be great! :D Keep up the good work
No thoughts on Injured Kvaldir in some variant of warrior?
No
It would be really interesting if they had an "anti joust" ability where you win if your creature costs less. It wouldn't have to be on a lot of cards, just a few to make sure Aggro decks don't disappear from the meta completely.

It ends up usually being zombie chow and it's awkward unless u have coin to have cleric and him on the board.
+Tyth
Has some great synergy with resurrect.
So... Question. If you hero power with say priest and you dont recover the health, does the inspire still proc??
Coliseum manager is op because what if they make a card in the future that says, "if you play coliseum manager, deal five damage to all enemies and you win the game." Then coliseum manager is terrific, so stop hating.
rainmaker6261 lol, yeah, but if they make a card thats says "you win the game" whats even the point of playing?
Dont feed the troll...
rainmaker6261 pretty sure reynad was stuck on his stream of consciousness and wasn't even aware how dumb he sounded anymore
Muaver you're prob right. It was just such an absurd comment. Couldn't help but laugh.
rainmaker6261 Spell: Deal 30 damage to the enemy hero if you have Coliseum Manager on the field.
"FULL SPEED!" - Gadgetzan Jouster

Thanks for the review!
I think Injured Kvaldir would be viable in aggro-Warrior that runs Rampage.
Kvaldir in warrior cuz warrior has a lot of cards that help damaged minions but at that point why no just use blade master?
talking about mtg combo decks makes me remember dragonstorm T1 kills
Good review. Pretty spot on. Thank you.
Master jouster with new warrior taunt cards and dread corsair?

Harvest golem isn't played in constructed
The problem with inspire is that the inspire makes it so that the card has lower stats so it makes it awkward to play a card
The card I compare it to is: .... Which card? 5:45
Okay, I am definitely crafting justicar trueheart after I saw the hero powers even though my only good legendaries are boom and grom
poop licker Probably dumb.
poop licker Craft Sylvanas, she is super good even in some zoo decks
The new warrior legendary is the one I am crafting first
shuvo rahman Crafting things before other people testing is a noob mistake.
M into a people? If I don't test it then how will people know and I have 6k dust to spend

Hunters deosnt hero power after turn 6 alot ? 0.О
Argent watcher should be 1 mana
finallyanime That's absurdly strong
That'll make it playable, we don't want that
It will be playable, this card is much better than Wolfrider in face hunter, (harder to remove) and will be decent in agro paladin.
But you'll basically waste turn 3, using your hero power, basically losing mana, making it basically a 4 mana creature
Not really, wolfrider is easier to kill, e.g to a mage/druid hero power. Where as Argent Watcher will be harder to remove, maker it stay on the board for longer. If it stays on board longer, it will deal more damage than wolfrider would.
How does Trueheart work with shadowform?
David Chong nothing. Only changes ORIGINAL hero power.
It doesnt work
Deck that rewards buffs are more exciting that decks that reward flooding the board imo.
Tyth Both have counters though. Board flodding is weak to AoE, even with sticky minions and Buffs are weak to silence. I don't think either is unbalanced but buffs are more exciting to me.
Tyth
Ok sorry I didn't realize you where talking about magic, haven't played that.
Where is part 4? BabyRage
This is much better than Trumps analysis.
fatigue warrior will become a thing?
I hope not
So I guess you prefer shroud to hexproof then? B-]
The person who made modern zoo hates the idea of buffing minions...
how can you say infinite skeleton knights wont ever win you the game? do the math.... if i have 7 of them thats 49 damage
rdmqwerty You're just playing a Salty Dog every turn after six mana and the previous one has had to die without being silenced beforehand. It has no effect, basically, you lose 'cause it can't do shit. And its health is bad.

Matei Ontanu
nothing is guarenteed to work, but every once in awhile you will be able to pull off infinite skele knights and it will own
rdmqwerty It's not common enough to even consider as a strategy.
"Won't see much play in Hunter or Rogue because they don't hero power that much after turn 6..."

Mc tech would be played if Gormok is
Sorry Reynad, but I really like Uril, The Miststalker. lol ;)
Reynad hates bogles D:
He's so right about Hexproof, it ruins the game.
I guess Reynad really doesnt like Bogle decks in MTG, cant really blame him though as it's super boring to play against.
Your forehead looks much smaller with this nice new haircut Reynad! Keep it up (or down?)
set speed on 1.25... thank me later
