I have 2 rotts - minimal training still they are very civilized cuz they are super smart.
These dogs are soooooooooooo loving and pleasing.
I had a Rottweiler/Labrador mixed dog. Sweetest dog ever. Not really a guard dog more of a watch dog. would not hurt a flea but if he thought something was not right he would let you know and LOUD. Helped raise a litter of kittens. He saved one of them by alerting us at 3am that one was in danger of death. he loved little kids.
i miss him
I love Rottweilers because you can cuddle them as you please, without being afraid of breaking something.
By the way, I never met one that was unfriendly.
The Rottweiler is the Mercedes amongst the dogs.
Mine sure loves to smooch can't get enough
Carl, my belief it isn't the breed it's the people that own them. I use the pitbull as an example the most hated breed and yet when you search and inform yourself that isn't the case it is Always the low life owner.
Carl Napp they are friendly until they get Loosr and see a jogger or anything with wheels that’s when they are the most dangerous dog in the states
@@mjacobs6228 Inform yourself before speaking fool. Even if they were the most dangerous it is still ALWAYS the owners fault if a dog is aggressive. Rottweilers with good owners are super sweet, gentle and caring. But if you abuse, neglect or not stimulate them they can get aggressive. It is the same as in humans.
Lukas Pieper you probably have never even owned one...I’m speaking from experience.
All three of my dogs were/are socialized, exercised, live in the house and run around in a huge backyard.
I have two kids, 5 and 8 and i would leave them alone with the dogs...they are very friendly and loving BUT they are protective and a TERRITORIAL breed, period!
You’re clearly talking out of your ass! The prey drive in my dogs are extremely high! They would welcome a stranger into my home with no problems but if they see something that triggers their drive it’s another ball game!
I think your the fool that know nothing about his breed and the responsible ownership it takes to prevent accidents from happening!
We have a Rot. He is huge but so sweet. Best dog I have ever had. Great video! Thank you.
What do you feed yours? I'm getting one?
My friend had a a Rottweiler and it was the calmest , sweetest thing ever . Who ever says Rottweilers are vicious dogs , is absolutely wrong . The owners choose how they want the dog to be .
I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 5 ROTTIES GROWING UP
THEY ARE EXTREMELY LOYAL AND VERY LOVING!!
I have a 7 year old male Rottweiler name Judge. His a big puppy, so smart and loyal. I have also worked with 2 Rottweilers in law enforcement. They are at the top of my breed list for sure.
Rottweilers have an enormous overview of a wide variety of situations, which makes them very safe. A Rottweiler is not the dog that likes to overreact, rather calm and considered. However, they react highly aggressively and instinctively when their protective or defensive instinct is awakened.
I love love Rottweilers and just love your video. Thank you for sharing. I live in the USA and in the next 5(five yrs); I will have one.
Well done. If everyone would adhere to these standards before breeding their dogs and would only sell to approved homes (people who adhere to the same standards) then the Rottweiler would not be in danger of being banned in so many places. This is a Nobel breed of dog and is truly the best family dog if bred and raised correctly. I got my first Rottweiler 34 years ago and have had nothing since then. I love everything about the breed but find it so sad what is happening to them due to poor breeding and irresponsible owners. One of the 2 dogs I have now fits the standard and would pass your tests with high marks, the other wouldn't. The one that wouldn't was a rescue but a poorly bred dog with weak nerves that make him more reactive. Sad to see.
I loved seeing one of the dogs with full tail :) It's so cute!
My sister lives in Sri Lanka, she owns two Rottweilers that recently attacked an intruder. the burglar is in the hospital, multiple stitches, a dismembered pinky and a ear that was left hanging by a little bit of cartilage. In Sri Lanka these dogs are breed to be viscous guard dogs.
They are I my socialised with the family and veterinarian. Designed to be viscous at anyone else. Never neutered and breed as true guard dogs. If you come into the house, and they do not know you, they will try the level best to kill you. The house has a 8 feet wall around it and my sister and her family only walks the dogs in their estate. When I visit her they want to kill me too, lol, and I don't mind that, at least I know that they will protect my sister and her family at any cost.
William Blackwood my rottie puppy loves about everyone.. only growls and tries to bite when she can't get her own way.
William Blackwood needless to say he won't be robbing her again good doggys
I remember my first dog was a rottie out of all the dogs my parents brought me the rottie was the one for me we connected, i was only 4 years old. i was so much afraid of chihuahuas, gsd, dalmations, huskies and i don't know how much more my parents had brought but i just couldn't be around them and they were well tempered but once i was afraid, so they tried one last time brought nala a 4month old rottie she was big n i fell in love with her she n i were inseparable i miss her :')
I'm not messing around, they are the most popular dog in america, and one of the most versatile, a few bad encounters don't make the dog bad, and i've only met a couple some of whom didn't like my dog too much, were really gentle with me, their presence is pretty amazing for a medium sized dog.
In South Africa we pride ourselves in owning the correct ethical breed standards Rottweilers of ADRK. used to attend these gatherings alot and learned for the better of the breed.
Best dog you can have .
Edwin Mitchell efbkztv
I have one and I have a Shepard. The Shepard can win your heart to.

.mmm
My rott is a sweetheart, plays with the little kids next-door, loves other dogs, but very protective over me. If I'm talking to someone, he stands inbetween us. My brothers friend (who my dog had never met) punched me in the arm (saying "hi") and my dog was rite there growling and letting him know not to touch me again. They are my favorite breed but u really have to be careful of how protective they are.
He's absolutely stunning.
Love the tail! My Rott's tail is full. He knocks my beers over.
Really nice to see intelligent people who care as much about a dog's temperament as they do about it's conformation. It's sad when this magnificent breed get into the wrong hands. They are amazing creatures, and deserve a better reputation. Bad breeding and ill-informed, naive or negative ownership is the problem, not the breed. I love my Rotties!
they arent worthless nor are they aggresive. they are one of the most intelligent breeds out there and becoming one of the top dogs for service dogs
Rotties have one really cool attribute which they share with several other big breeds: No matter how crowded a place is, the crowd always parts like the red sea in front of you!
Excellent job there! Oh and a nice day to everyone reading this! :)
I own two rotties, awesome dogs i feel very safe with them.
The rotweilers character, intelligence, personality, strength, will to protect its territory is unmatched.
super dog breed -der rottweiler !!! vielen dank fur das sehr schone video !!🖤❤💛👍💫💫💫💫💫
Rotts are really good dogs. I have one myself. She loves meeting new children but she is wary around new men (dunno why, she was a stray) They are easy to train and will always be loyal. Be careful around the door though, they are fearless and very protective around their family and house.
their tail is really beautiful!
is this place in south africa, do they also do it yearly
Great work with a lovely breed of dog, non better.
The Rottweiler is sometimes born with what is called a Kink Tail which is undesired. They decided to dock the tail instead of breeding out the issue. They didn't dock it far enough so the dog's tail would get caught in the carts they were pulling. So the tail was docked further to where it is today. Now they are breeding out the kink tail instead of docking. However having seen a litter get docked I won't do it again. The entire litter was screaming as soon as it was done.
Does not take too much actually, good training where they are babies,.mutual love and loyalty guaranteed
Labradors originated in Newfoundland and Labrador but they are considered to have English and American styles. There are different ideal characteristics for different Clubs.
thisis a beautiful dog
Very nice. Keep up the good work promoting the breed. Attractive looking Rotties.
american kennel club rotts are bred for mainly looks where as if you can try and get the old german bloodlines this is more suited for working ,smaller and stocky
designing a temperment test is a pretty good idea
And God said "Let there be Rottweilers"!!! The dog of dogs!
12 years is quite good for such a big breed. If you want to get one take one of a litter where the parents are on the smaller side of the weight range. They tend to live longer than those ultra heavy ones.
Just as Labradors can be English and American (based on different physical characteristics) American rottweiler means that the breed was slightly modified to be larger to satisfy a different demand in the US. German refers to the slightly smaller, more athletic version better suitable for a work dog.
Great Chris!!!
Nice dog 🐶 Rottweiler dog 🐶🐶🐶
i love that test in the beginning. Very very good. Nice!
Good work with the dogs😁🐶🐕🐕
actually they were Italian before they were German, used by Rome, in Roman expanse they eventually were only used in a town in the German area known for its red rooves, Rot Viel or something like that, that's how they got their name
i know what you mean the working shepherd, has a better temperament to work, doesn't make them any more dangerous, just more confident and built to work.
yeah i had it backwards...when thinking of the bull dog since europe is bigger i was focused on that and crossed thinking rotts were big originally in germany....and yeah dogs now days people just want big strong looking dogs...even if they cant do any kind of work
That's my Chop!
yes
Rottweilers are honestly probably one of my favorites, pitbulls have more of a statistic(s), but they are counted as 8 breeds, and sometimes even american bulldogs are labelled pitbulls. My favorite breed is the mastiff breeds, better guards and are protectors. Much larger and just awesome. But... Adding heavier fines to people who train their dogs to do it, is key not restricting.
I agree! I have two rotts, my male is very well bred from direct German imports and I trust him a little more than my female, who isn't as well bred. She's very sweet, but she has had some personal space issues with me. My boy hasn't shown any sort of frustration towards me in his life. I wish america had better breeding standards.
Brilliant video thanks
Beautiful breed, Rottweilers have a place in my heart.
Right next to GSD, Dobermann, Am Staff, German Pinscher and Shih-Tzu.
Haven't met a nasty Rottweiler in my life.
I love rottwillers it's sad cause I was looking it up and they live up 8 or 12yr the most
couldn't agree more about rottweilers. I have a male and found him much easier to train and more obedient then my husky.
I have a German rott and he is the best, His weight 150 pounds, he loves children...
I have seen one of them! those dogs are HUGE!
Best house dog I've ever had....He's under my feet as I type this...
So you got your dog in Germany? How much did it cost to import him or do you live in Germany as well? 150 pounds is huge, is he in the breed standard?
asrotties No, he was given to us at 7 weeks old. What a blessing he is to my family, my grandchildren just love him especially the youngest 2 grand daughters. they lye on him, hug him & he is very protective of them all...
Evelyn Castro I think what asrotties is trying to say is that a German Rottweiler is a Rottie from Germany. It has to be bred from Germany to be considered a German Rottweiler. Also 150 is very large for a Rottie of any kind. They are typically considered medium to large dogs. 150 lbs is rather large and would not be considered good for the breed. Too many people breed for size and are ruining the breed.
Now I am not a breeder nor do I think I know much of anything about the breed other than I love them and own one name Porter House :) That's just what I have learned in my own research.
Can you tell me what's the blood line of your rootwieler, he/she is big face, I want to purchase a puppy for training same very young. It is very important to training really young. Can you please let me know, thanks
Andy
i loveeee rottweiler
Very insightful
i love rottweiler dogs
I've owned 15 Rottweilers. My dog will bark at someone at the door, and she will guard my car, but she is very even tempered and easy to be around. I take her shopping and out to eat with me a lot. People remark on her temperament and her gentle nature. However I can bring out her drive by grabbing a ball or a bite tug. You've never owned a Belgian Malinois or a Collie if you think a Rottweiler is energetic. You may have bought one didn't research the lines and don't know what you got.
THE BEST DOG BREED =DER ROTTWEILER !!DANKE !!
love the dog. hes soooo cute, awwwwwwwwwwww
I'm thinking of getting one, but is it hard to train them into following you or walking with you? My friend had a problem training his to do so.
I know what you mean the bent backs are breeders causes, got any links to breeders? I wanna check these guy's out for myself. Most today are slopped back, smaller, and don't have as much tan.
look up workingline vs showline. theres a big diffrence showline are very Docile compared to the Rugged rough Workling Alastian
some owners are never prepared for the rottie. good animals
I love rottweilers
Yes they originated from Germany but there are differences. The American Rott is bigger in size, has a common health problem which is hip dysplasia, a longer snout, and less blocky head, while German Rott is shorter, is healthier, has a shorter snout, and a block head. This all has to do with Breeding. In America they over bread the Rott causing weak bones. But each dog is unique in it's own way :)
Great video.
Nice video.
lol my point was no one has a guard dog golden. but there are alot of rotties guard dogs, or atleast that try to make em so. i got a rottie shep too, popular breed it seems
My next dog for 2018. I want the tail docked is that wrong?
i like this guy. thumbs up!
They are great working dog, but they are also great as pets! :)
I want one so bad
This is sooo cool
NICE WORK....
The rottie at 0:23 how do you get him to look that. As in coat, size. I have a high quality bred rottie, I'm thinking of breeding he's got wonderful potential. Great working and protection. Hes a pup but looks almost exactly like the one at 1:27.
Best dog breed; best accent!
Nice one mate.
I can only speak based on my own experience - I love the boerboel as they remind me the very powerful, but sweet, English mastiff bitch I had (R.I.P.) I find the rotties have the extra gear, very balanced (I have 2) they blended very well with the rest of the pack, they are very sure of themself still they are well behaved and not a pain in the ass.
it is but have you seen the standard bullies, XL? 90lbs + those are fit nice bullies, that look like they can support their weight, such as bossykennels in the u.s. Gamebreds are 30lbs - 50lbs aren't they? I like the regular non game bred pits, kinda like yours in your pic, but i'm not sure if he is. I would love to have a bandogge but overall they are really dominant and don't suit me, i would rather get a bullmastiff, or a bully. I love the american bullies as long as they aren't fat.
I have found that being spayed makes a huge difference. So I am not sure it's an isolated thing at all.
nice dogs
How much would traing like this cost?
Great stuff !
Red nose? I've heard of that alot, is that because his nose is red and his color? Or some kinda bloodline? If so i love the razors edge pitbulls.
After owning a bunch of dog's rottweilers are harder to handle and stronger because of their history, doesn't make them at all dangerous, a GSD is a first time dog, and easier to handle, because they were bred to herd.
i think it because the american version is bred with different traits but yes they are the same dog.... does that make sence?
i know the rottweilers origin is from germany. but is it me or is their a distinct difference between their body shape of the rotties bred in germany and america?
Good video, I love the breed I have three two dogs and a bitch they are all litter mates and are brilliant with kids espec there fourth trouble buddy (my 20mnth old daughter) her and the 60kg male are the closest, he s v.respectful of her space and will gently nudge the other guys back if there bit close when greeting her, but they are always supervised together to prevent innocent accidents occuring, as all dogs and children should be.
where is this from? i love responsible breeders and trainers
South Africa
In which place is this
HUGE LIKE TO THE GREAT CLIP AND TO THE BEST DOG BREED EVER IN ANY KIND OR WAY =DER ROTTWEILER !!THANKS
my Uncle has a long haired rottweiler and from a distance he kinda looks like a baby bear. people always do double takes when he goes on walks.
YAY ROTTIES ARE GETTING THERE TAILS BACK
I wish mine had her tail.
i have noticed german rottweilers to be more stockier and more muscled with bigger heads. while american rottweilers are more taller and not as stocky
Love rottweilers!!!!
supper video
