This redesigned front end is a no for me. Ram is doubling down on the mustache grill for what reason I’ll never know. Leave it on the Rebel for those who like it. But that new Rebel grill is plain awful ugly. On the bright side if the new trans is calibrated like their current 8HP75, which I also have, it will be great with the exhaust brake.

In 1989, my wife and I were 34, and celebrated our 4th anniversary. In 2018, my wife traded in her Ram 1500 4wd 3.6L for a Ram 2500 4wd 6.7L beast. Other than a ZF Powerline 8-speed transmission needing to be installed. My wife considers her truck to be perfect.
We carry a 4Wheel Campers Hawk model slide in camper, and tow my 2023 Jeep Wrangler JLU behind it. A great way to camp and adventure.
The truck is a tradesman. The Jeep is a Sport S trim. And the Jeep cost $1k more than the truck. The problem with all vehicles is price. The price to what people will pay is outa wack! All brands cost more than what people can comfortably pay right now. I get a lot of people trying to buy my older project vehicles. And they would prefer to buy new.

I think the reason there is not an actual new design is 100% the fault of corporate/stellantis and little carlos and his cut costs above all else mentality. Guy is on his way out and as soon as that happens watch the next person who takes over to hopefully green light the new Ram that is way over due. Hopefully, they split North America off and appoint a dedicated AMERICAN CEO four CDJR.

I refuse to buy any other bra d even though chevy runs in my blood and I can literally get the GM discount. Now that being said. I am not happy woth ram. Not because of quality. But because of they are running the 4th gen smaller cab. And the transmission. Ram was the first brand to put a trans in a pickup that was more then 6 gears but the last in the HD department. And not to mention. That front end. Nah. Not for me. But to be fair. Ford and chevy gmc are all doing way to much. Nothing looks clean and flows anymore. The 17 to 23 Fords are a great looking truck same as the GMC and the rams. But they all are in competition to to over complicate and pack in as much plastic as possible. Damn come on. The designers have to be on drugs.

I have a '16 Tradesman CCSB 6.4L 4x4 with 4.10s. Have been waiting for YEARS for Ram to update the cab & styling to the 1500... but it appears I'm SOL (until they get rid of the Hemi). I'm not a fan of the mustache grille... nor the murdered-out/blacked-out front & rear ends. Chrome is FAR more durable, & what stone chips you DO get are MUCH better hidden. I had heard that the '25s would feature yet another tired refresh on the front & rear ends, & that's about it. There was a rumor regarding a slight power bump for the 6.4... jury is still out on that one. At this point, I may go GMC, as I can get a similarly-equipped Sierra for less money than a Rebel. It's hard to justify forking out $30k-$40k for what is basically the same truck that I've had for the last eight years. I have wanted to upgrade to the 8 speed tranny (the 6 speed has always been clunky), but I just can't see enough pluses to justify the change. I'm not thrilled with the anime/tonka-toy styling on the GMs & Fords, but at least they've done some updating.

Wow man you are laying it on pretty thick here lol. My first reaction when I seen the red truck was “Is that even real? That has to be fake!” I was shocked when I did a Google search and seen it was in fact real. I’ll just leave it at that lol.
Ram is toast if this is what they are going to soldier on with for the foreseeable future.

Yeah this refresh is a swing and a miss IMO. The PW/Rebel grille is an awful mishmash of lines. The grille on the red truck isn’t too bad, in fact I almost prefer it vs. the current Laramie style grille. Not a fan of the split headlights at all, I feel it ruins the front end lines a bit.

Just screams cost cutting like loosing the wood trim on the wheel. Cheep grill and headlight change, Bigger screen from the 1500 meh. 8 speed that should have come in 19. It should be dirt cheep considering the truck is 95% carry over.

5 years old. My Uncle had a 1993 W350 Extended Cab DRW Cummins with that plush red interior. Thats when I fell in love with Cummins trucks. Would love to have that truck now!!

I will be buying a 2025 heavy duty as soon as they come available to order. I happen to know that they will be available with the ZF powerline transmission and only slight power bumps but way more cooling. I also own a 1st gen Cummins and 2nd gen Dakota with 5.9 magnum.

    I have had three Gen 3 Dodge Rams 2500's with 5.9, and I currently own a 2007.
I have owned a 2011, and I really liked what they did with the styling of the 4th generation. When they updated it to the larger grill, I did not like it, and still don't. The upcoming truck is like the larger grill on steroids. I don't like it.

So basically the Ram 1500 is the only Rm to buy for personal use. Fleets don’t care about small outdated cabs and poor durability of the gas engines. The 1500 cab is roomy and modern .

The only thing good about the ram, is the Cummins and a manual trans! They gave up the trans. The rest of the truck sucks, body, electronics, and interior parts are cheaply made and the cab is way to small!
    I’ll stick with Ford.

You obviously do not work on vehicles, because Ram trucks have horrible repair costs since the 90's. As an auto tech for 35 years, you could not give me a Dodge anything....

Guess I’ll be staying with Ford. With the high interest rates and outdated truck they could go under. Sales are down across all Jeep, Dodge, RAM.

Im disappointed in these 2025 hd rams. Same body as 2009 as mentioned, the rebel grille is hideous, and we are way past due for a total revamp. I like the mirrors, the power train, interior etc but seriously? Rams have always been low on the tow ratings, the 1500 crew cab is almost as big as the mega. My first vehicle was a Ram and I've basically only driven Rams since. I wont be buying another one until they get with reality on prices, what consumers actually want do a complete revamp. Get it together, Ram!

Dodge is learning from the FCA, stelantis roots, go look at the fiat Ducato (ram promaster in the us) that sorry excuse for a van has been sold in Europe since 2006 and has gone through almost no updates besides emissions compliance, it's not surprising they're doing the same here

Keeping my 2018 3500 SRW with 6.7 Laramie and just ordered a 2025 GMC AT4 with the 6.5 gas in Thunderstorm Gray. If it works out good I may be selling the Ram. I only tow 12k/lbs. once or twice a month for about 100 miles. The only issue I have had with the 18 6.7 Cummins was the DEF dosing nozzle crystalizing from either bad DEF from or lack of use or a combination of both.

I own a 2015 ram , a 2016 Ford F250 and a 2021 Ford F150 And I’m here to tell you that the cab size is a big deal for me. I’m a bigger guy and ram just isn’t big enough..and Chevy is just garbage all around.

  • @peterf.4268

I'm a Cummins guy...I own an '06 because of the engine (and lack of EGR, etc.), not because of the truck. That said, I disagree with you on the 3rd gen, it's still kinda badass. Now, about '25...it's almost like they tried to go back to the 3rd gen...not quite the radical semi-truck step down from the tall grill to the headlights like the 2nd gen, but a softer version of it, like my '06. The problem is, on both the 2nd & 3rd gen Rams, those lines continued past the face. This looks like they just slapped a different face on a vehicle not built for that upgrade. The pieces don't work together.

The Duke says, miss my 1990 Dodge 3/4 ton Cummins. And I'm a Ford guy now. Couldn't go anywhere without someone asking to look at the engine. That went on for 2 years. Yes 2 years. Kept it for 9 years hot shotting around Texas. The odometer broke before the truck did. Prolly had 700,000 miles before I traded it in for a 99 Super duty 7.3 diesel. F-450
On the Dodge I had to put three injector pumps (mechanical) and a throw out bearing.
Nothing done to the Ford but alternators and o- ring and tranny. Miss both those trucks.
    What did I teach you?

I was 3, never have I had the opinion that the 1976 D model truck(same cab, bed, chassis as the 1989)ever out did either GM or Ford. Even in the modern times, Ram is a distant 3rd compared to the other two(GM twins are one truck). Ram sure is pretty on the inside, but the 2011 HD(2009 cab) truck in 2025 is really sad. Stellantis is dropping the ball off a cliff. Considering the fact they have 2022s brand new on the lot shows the end is probably nearer than most think. I don't think that 8spd "powerline" is going to make a hit. The only place you can get it in N/A is the class 5-7 Paccar straight trucks. If you look at the Powerline take rate vs the 2000/3000 series Allison take rate. It's like 6:1 for the Allison. That 6.4 doesnt hold a candle to the 7.3. A test of an F250 with the 3.55 axle(3.73 is an f350 SRW axle only) isnt comparable to a 4.10 in the ram 6.4. Dot for dot RAM is NOT COMPETITIVE on either side. A car engine in a HD pickup is BS and the (bored and stroked 5.7) and 6.6(bored 6.2) dont hold up against the 7.3. Thats why nither of thos engines make i into anything bigger than the class 5 market, still thats rare take

nope. hard pass for me. ive been waiting to buy an hd for two years... but the cab is the same as 2009?! wtf ram? ive had 4 1500s and the new "5th gen" is goofy with the crammed interior of the 5th gen 1500 trucks. if you get in both... its GOOFY (fam has several 1500s and a 2500 powerwagon)

I have a 2022 3500 SO Dually. I just got back from short RV trip. I am completely happy with the way the truck tows. I am pulling a 45-foot 18,000 Lb fifth wheel. The exhaust brake is excellent. The truck pulls the trailer with ease. We were driving on hilly small 2 lane roads for a decent part of the drive. The truck handled it no problems. Hard to change at this point. I hope they do a total update soon though. Thanks for your channel.
