  • UPDATE: ALL units in the series have been retired as of November 2016 and was replaced with 2016 Gillig low floor diesel units.
Recorded on 9/11/12 in the sunny afternoon.
Here is a full ride on the MTA Flint 1989 TMC RTS T8O-206 #1099 doing the regional route 208 I-75 express to Flint, Michigan (in Genesee County) from Great Lakes Crossing Outlet. Best of all, this old beast still has the good ol' 2-stroke 6V92-engine! I had to cut my recording off for a few minutes though because of the hot heat from my camera...
    Engine: Detroit Diesel 6V92TA
    Transmission: Allison V-731

Very true! Although I never rode one of these they do sound just like Dayton's RTS buses when I visited Dayton, Ohio it was bus #633

A few of them are still active; they were only used for school runs. The may (sometimes) use one of the RTss on the commuter express route to and from Great Lakes Crossing Outlet. Right now, this route mostly uses MCI D4500CT and some of the used MCI 102DL3 and some 2012 New Flyer Xcelsior XDE40.
