    I swear, she understands these works much better than many, many very famous pianists. It is sheer politics that she didn't place higher.

      @@cesarvallejolopez a mistake in music is something that wasn't intended in the performer's interpretation and wasn't his ideal way of playing it. It can be wrong notes, less musicality than intended, higher speed than intended. Wrong notes are a fact of imperfect playing and the other examples that I mentioned are for the judgers to decide. Sometimes it's more clear in the performance and sometimes less. Duy duong means wrong notes.

      emilia di giovanni Kate Liu was excellent, however, I think Cho Seong Jin truly deserved his win.

      @@Algorox I agree, listen to the both of their renditions and its clear Jin's is superior. So crystal clear and the timing is superb.

    Well it's in 3/4 time I agree, but can you imagine anyone trying to waltz at that tempo!!

      *you're not supposed to dance to it.* Maybe you can dance to other waltzes *made for it* but certainly not chopin waltz. Even chopin said that his waltz aren't danceable

      +Jeremy Ng What about the end??? EVERYBODY plays mistakes. Horowitz, Gilels, Yuja Wang. All. One chord wrong- and thats the first in ur comment in a superbly played waltz.

    Because I listened to a couple of Chopin competition performances, they are showing up as suggestions. This is the last time time I click. With very few exceptions (not including this one), there is nothing worth listening to, just nearly seamless, overpracticed copies of the playing and musical gestures of earlier pianists
