@@cesarvallejolopez a mistake in music is something that wasn't intended in the performer's interpretation and wasn't his ideal way of playing it. It can be wrong notes, less musicality than intended, higher speed than intended. Wrong notes are a fact of imperfect playing and the other examples that I mentioned are for the judgers to decide. Sometimes it's more clear in the performance and sometimes less. Duy duong means wrong notes.
*you're not supposed to dance to it.* Maybe you can dance to other waltzes *made for it* but certainly not chopin waltz. Even chopin said that his waltz aren't danceable
+Jeremy Ng What about the end??? EVERYBODY plays mistakes. Horowitz, Gilels, Yuja Wang. All. One chord wrong- and thats the first in ur comment in a superbly played waltz.
Because I listened to a couple of Chopin competition performances, they are showing up as suggestions. This is the last time time I click. With very few exceptions (not including this one), there is nothing worth listening to, just nearly seamless, overpracticed copies of the playing and musical gestures of earlier pianists
The way she plays this piece makes it come to life
She's the BOMB!!!
Amazing talent.
love this till bits!:) Still listening to Kate Liu when though now! Her works are really sublime! Keep going Kate!! You’re really an inspiration!
So gifted I fear for her sanity. Amazing beyond words.
Kate, I love your piano playing.
You're the winner of this'
Chopin Compotion.
@Neo Sannyasin
YOU are the compotion
She placed 3rd among 10 finalists.
This is insane! The best interpretation I’ve heard ❤️
I truly loved that performance
Amazing performance! Such passion and vigour from a superb artist!
Qué demostración tan convincente de virtuosismo, sensibilidad y comprensión de la música de Chopin.
Najlepsze wykonanie ❤️
I swear, she understands these works much better than many, many very famous pianists. It is sheer politics that she didn't place higher.
laguna greg i agree and blew away the competition with the Chopin concerto! She should have been the winner!!!
politics? omg really? oh no!
@Duy Duong What is a "mistake" in music? Did you mean "wrong notes"?

Also from 1.00 onwards very good playing , and 1.26 beautiful !
Pan Fryderyk Chopin jest dumą Polski! Cały naród jest z niego dumny! 🇵🇱

why didn't she win?
emilia di giovanni Kate Liu was excellent, however, I think Cho Seong Jin truly deserved his win.
@@Algorox I agree, listen to the both of their renditions and its clear Jin's is superior. So crystal clear and the timing is superb.
The machine always wins against emotion .
@@Fritz_Maisenbacher Jin's interpretation was emotional. Just because something is more correct doesn't make it machine-like.
@@skrutten_
"more correct" ???? haha .... was Chopin born to be "correct" ????
I personally prefer this over Cho's
Well it's in 3/4 time I agree, but can you imagine anyone trying to waltz at that tempo!!
*you're not supposed to dance to it.* Maybe you can dance to other waltzes *made for it* but certainly not chopin waltz. Even chopin said that his waltz aren't danceable
Shucks, why the screw up at the end... :( This was so perfect. Loved everything about it, interpretation and all. Minus the end.
She's a human. Humans make mistakes.

Johannes Ostenfeld-Rosenthal My comment was meant to be positive overall. I'm terribly sorry you didn't see it that way.
sorry to dig it back up, but what was the mistake at the end?
Just some small slip around 2:15.
Sounds like a galop rather than a waltz.
En la parte A no toca el bajo del ritmo de vals. Pero el resto sale bien
Erratic tempo.

and why is it
Ryan Farrel cuz she forgot how to play then she remembered
doesn't it supposed to be like that..? or tell me you were joking🤔
@@Angela_Cao she didn't forget of course, as debussy said - music is the silence between the notes
have you heard of a rest before
my 11 year old, do friend can play that
Maybe. but your friend can never play like her. to master a piece, it takes long time. just knowing the key is not end
Ellie Kasba stop writing this weird comment for great videos
@Ellie Kasba my dog can play this as well
my alligator can play this piece
I never get tire of playing this piece... cause I play them... with my toes.
