Some of these are inexplicably funny. Cabinet 10 at 4:39 for example. Something about opening the doors up for it contain literally just a beaver, standing there, is hilarious to me
I love the small musical touches accompanying the narration. It really matches the feeling one gets from watching these videos. A little whimsical, but magical feeling of exploring a new and unknown world hidden from view.
It's called cyclopia some animals can and get it fisherman in the Middle East found an albino cyclopean bull shark the odds of that is like finding a diamond in your backyard
Cyclopia is more common in domesticated animals because we breed so much of one thing. It's hard to find in the wild because they die immediately or soon after birth, they get eaten before we can get the specimen. Some can live with the condition but it is very very rare. It can also happen with humans (pls dont look this up if you're squeamish)
Budget cuts. They can sell that Cyclop skull to history channel ancient aliens. Man they will get creative with the story maybe even find a entire new species of alien cows visitors
I love how humans store knowledge in some way: either specimens, images in a hard drive, or simply encrypted data in writing. We are the only animal on this planet who does this. Amazing.
That’s incredible, isn’t it? And it is because God made us so wonderfully! And gave us such an amazing display of creatures to study, discover and take care of! Such creativity and kindness
This is like Christmas unboxing videos for a zoologist (you’re living my dream job right now) and PLEASE go into much more detail about all these animal specimens because I would definitely watch them (you should open the elephant’s toe envelope too)
I bet this museum also has some "do not open, the insects were prepped with toxic shit which u should not breathe in. We only found out later" - cabinets (Oddly specific? Yes. My university has some of those)
Lmao this dude is so random. He says “there’s an elephants toe in that envelope, should I open it? Oh over here is an armadillo and a porcupine jaw” 😂❤
That dark beaver cabinet kinda got me 😅 I was like 😨...... 😱 for a second there lol. I live for these videos. So fascinating. And your voice and the piano keys are soothing to the ears.
What kind of educational background do you have? What exactly is it you do with these collections? It just looks like you really enjoy working with these specimen!
Things I’ve found in museum storage: -An entire Chinese apothecary shop -cocaine/alcohol elixir -multiple pairs of gloves made of dog fur -Queen Victoria’s dress…. In North Dakota - flowers made of human hair
I couldn't make out too many of the plants, but from what I could see it looks like the plant diorama includes models of Mayapple, Trillium, and Pink Lady's-slipper :)
-The Biggest Marine Snail Is "Syrinx Aruanus". -The Biggest Land Snail Is "Australian Trumpet". -The Largest Flying Animal Is "Quetzalcatlus" And It Is Extinct. -The Smallest Dino Is The "Oculudentavis Khaungraae" Which Looks Like A Bee Hummingbird Although. -The Longest Dinosaur In The World Is The Bruhatgkayosaurus Matleyi.
what i thought wouldve felt like a Smithsonian version of storage wars, was edited like a PBS special of "whats inside the museum storage?" its a distinctive piano/musical cueing style that just feels timeless, and i love it
I felt like smelling this archive all video long. 😂 That weird kind of museum vibe. Cool information in your vids but it definitely hits morbid curiosity and some awkward nasty feeling at the same time lol.
I was very much reminded of the late, great Mr. Fred Rogers when watching this. Your voice was similar to the calm tone of his, and the music was very reminiscent of what played when he visited somewhere or watched "Picture Picture" to show how something was made.
If you ever get a chance I hope you're able to make it to the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology. They have the largest known Alligator skull, and I'd love to see it on here!
Dude this is so cool!! I wanna be able to walk around in museum storage closets and see what's in there. I'm going into biology as a major so maybe one day!
8:26 more on the elephant specimen searching "Cincinnati zoo chief the elephant" yields some info. Chief was a part of a circus where he crushed and killed his keeper, was taken to the Cincinnati zoo, where he lived for the next 10 years. His life then ended via firing squad and was served as elephant steak. His remains and stuffed skin was on display at the zoo, then donated to the University of Cincinnati and then to the Museum Center. Most of this info came from handeaux's tumblr post but I was able to cross reference it with an UCinci article and the elephant database, though I don't know where the steak information came from.
I loved the trays of various insects and the detail about the preservation of caterpillars. I can deeply appreciate how delicate a process that has to be, especially with caterpillars that have delicate spines and tubercles.
Some of these are inexplicably funny. Cabinet 10 at 4:39 for example. Something about opening the doors up for it contain literally just a beaver, standing there, is hilarious to me
I love the box that says turtles containing basically the opposite of a turtle
Hahaha, that actually startled me for a second. 😅 I was like "ooo, that's dark... What is that..." 🔦💡 "Oh. It is just a beaver. Standing there." Lol
I got jumpscared lol
The pizza boxes are what got me
He’s just standing there… MENACINGLY!!!!
I love the small musical touches accompanying the narration. It really matches the feeling one gets from watching these videos. A little whimsical, but magical feeling of exploring a new and unknown world hidden from view.
Just like Mr. Rogers.
its so calming, it reminds me of curious george tbh, the calm narration and music accompanying it, so relaxing and wonderful
omg yes! this is so great
the last time i heard this kind of musical cueing style, that feels almost timeless, would be that Untitled Goose Game LOL
Blues clues vibes
A CYCLOPS COW??? what in the world
It's called cyclopia some animals can and get it fisherman in the Middle East found an albino cyclopean bull shark the odds of that is like finding a diamond in your backyard
@airsight2194 it's actually interesting facts bro 😐

@@wolfyt2036some humans are born with it

Did not expect to see museums keeping specimens in pizza boxes! 😂
Budget cuts. They can sell that Cyclop skull to history channel ancient aliens. Man they will get creative with the story maybe even find a entire new species of alien cows visitors
One specimen per box, everybody knows the rules.
and egg cartons !
I work at a natural history museum, but it's always fascinating to see collections from other places. Very cool video!
How can I work at a natural history museum? I was always so fond of bones, shells, animals preserved in jars, skulls, and such.
Me tooo!! I really want to work at a museum@@mrfish.-
I love how humans store knowledge in some way: either specimens, images in a hard drive, or simply encrypted data in writing. We are the only animal on this planet who does this. Amazing.
We’re the only one with the intelligence-based and physical capability to do so.
That’s incredible, isn’t it? And it is because God made us so wonderfully! And gave us such an amazing display of creatures to study, discover and take care of! Such creativity and kindness
@@gabrielsilveira8246 why tf would you make this about your god?
06:10 *"looks like a bunch of bones"*
yep you got that right
This is like Christmas unboxing videos for a zoologist (you’re living my dream job right now) and PLEASE go into much more detail about all these animal specimens because I would definitely watch them (you should open the elephant’s toe envelope too)
6:03 now I’m imagining them ordering a pizza every time they need room for more shells
It was after the moment
I bet this museum also has some "do not open, the insects were prepped with toxic shit which u should not breathe in. We only found out later" - cabinets

I’m a museum worker and it’s always a treat to look through our education closet. I unexpectedly found not one but TWO tiger hides
I used to think museums displayed everything they had. 😅 if I were there, I’d spend the whole day looking at everything!
I think I could spend a year there!!
I've learnt such much that I didn't know I was curious about, just by following you for a few months now man
When the world's largest is a marine snail📮📮📮📮📮
You make your videos feel like interactive video games. It's really fun and engaging 😄
7:23 that one moved!
Never expected a narwhal to be that big. Always thought that the horn is just half of the one shown in the video. Really cool.
I know this comment is months old, but I just want to say that the protrusions on narwhals are not horns, but an elongated tooth.
Yet again, premium content from this awesome channel. So interesting to see these collections
That dark beaver cabinet kinda got me 😅 I was like 😨...... 😱 for a second there lol. I live for these videos. So fascinating. And your voice and the piano keys are soothing to the ears.
This is my go-to channel for nature. I love the little piano trickles! So cute. Keep up the great work!
I love ur videos I’ve always liked learning about animals i just found this channel about a month ago thank u for teaching me so much!
This was a great video!!! More of these "exploring the storeroom" videos please!!!
What kind of educational background do you have? What exactly is it you do with these collections? It just looks like you really enjoy working with these specimen!
This gives Mr Roger field trip vibes and I love it
No words can explain how much i would like to be there studying every single speciment its awesome

I love that you have music behind all of your videos. Its so calming and makes watching these videos so much nicer
❤❤❤love from Nagpur, India
This whole video reminds me of a really chill indie game lol thanks for the journey man

how you speak, the vocabulary u use, and the cute little sound effects all remind me of a kids show in this video
Thank you for being in weird but true with your sister! You guys always got me exited for every episode even after rewatching them!
That swordbill hummingbird is ridiculous. That's like, Sephiroth's Masamune levels of absurd length.
I was like
"HA! He can't fool me! I know an Elephant skull looks like a Cyclops!"
Then lo and behold, an actual cyclops cow skull was what it was 😅
The editing and narration reminds me of Mr. rogers for some reason. Very calming.
i just so happened to have gone to a national aviary today, so the cabinet of bird skulls was crazy cause i just saw most of those birds 12 hours ago
"Looks like a decomposing bird..."
A WHA-
That taxidermy beaver would have scared the life out of me 😂😂
The piano tones and your intonation brough me back to my childhood, which was watching kids shows like Blue’s Clues. I love it!
what i thought wouldve felt like a Smithsonian version of storage wars, was edited like a PBS special of "whats inside the museum storage?" its a distinctive piano/musical cueing style that just feels timeless, and i love it
Love it mate! Amazing! Keep sharing all this interesting knowledge
man watching this while high makes time go by fast
This weekend I’m starting my first little homeschooling science class with my 3 year old using your videos! Thank you so much!
Cincy mentioned!!! 🥳The Cincinnati Museum Center is one of the coolest places in Cincy.
Him handling these with one hand is freaking me out
I felt like smelling this archive all video long. 😂 That weird kind of museum vibe. Cool information in your vids but it definitely hits morbid curiosity and some awkward nasty feeling at the same time lol.
This is so inexplicably lovely
Fun fact the honey badger didnt actually get captured and Put on display he just snuck in there to take a nap😌
I want a whole cabinet filled with snail shells
Something about the pacing and tone of this reminds of the Oswald cartoon (compliment)
I love my city!!! So hilarious that they used Larosas Pizza boxes to store shells 😂
I was very much reminded of the late, great Mr. Fred Rogers when watching this. Your voice was similar to the calm tone of his, and the music was very reminiscent of what played when he visited somewhere or watched "Picture Picture" to show how something was made.
Idk why but this gave me "Mr. Rogers" vibe. Just a chill dude teaching and showing with the lil piano key bits. Very calming

We don't have to go to a museum this one here is free Thanks to this guy
What fun! Thank you and your ring of keys!
And it's so cool that you Walk There
I could easily be here for days, very fascinating!
2:56 tries to sneak one out.
“Is that a walrus tusk in your pants or are you just happy to see me?”
Like a house of horrors for animals
Dude this is so cool!! I wanna be able to walk around in museum storage closets and see what's in there. I'm going into biology as a major so maybe one day!
4:42 : They got Gaming beaver noooooo !
I hope he can still play Path of Titan
I was like aaaah because I saw a insect that is a leaf
Even if you didn’t mention Cincinnati, the La Rosas boxes would have given it away 😂
What a wonderful place to eat mushrooms!
“In this box labeled turtles I found some bird nests.”
I love the low key chaos of this cideo
There's a clouded leopard in the last ten seconds of the video. Just in the background, full taxidermy. That's incredible.
This is my childhood dream going in the back room of a museum finding a bunch of cool stuff
Looooved this type of video!!!
Man i wish i can go on there bc i love natures❤
i get very excited when i correctly guess what they are. it makes me feel smart.
my goal in life is to have a job like yours! thank you for the amazing video!
Those caterpillar ones are super impressive! Bug pinning is no joke
Actually, all birds have scleral rings! Super cool remnant from they dinosaur ancestors, like the theropods!
Just a tip, the word "sieve" is pronounced "siv," like the end of the word "evasive."
I love how you have the hand out like we’re playing minecraft or some shit. it’s a small thing, but very amusing
"In cabinet 10 I found......... a beaver"
Idk why but that had me CRYING laughing omg that's so funny idek why

I loved the trays of various insects and the detail about the preservation of caterpillars. I can deeply appreciate how delicate a process that has to be, especially with caterpillars that have delicate spines and tubercles.
Between the soft gentle narration and light piano in the background, I got "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood" vibes.
Same.
9:29 I might be wrong, but is that a taxidermy Coelacanth on the wall? If so that’s kinda awesome
It's a coelacanth, but I highly doubt it's taxidermy, more likely a replica. Usually real coelacanths in museums are preserved in fluid.
I feel like I’m there with you looking at all of these cabinets
04:41 insert random excited rant from a Polish person about bobr (Polish for beaver)
3:08 no this is Patrick
No this is you
I really enjoyed this video. It was really awesome looking at all the specimens. Definitely looking forward to more museum showcases!
please make another one of these videos, it’s the perfect amount of weirdness and interesting facts.
I can't believe I only learn now you have a youtube Channel
Oh my gosh, a coelacanth!!!
6:21 fuck, Messi died !😢
😂
this video is sooo cozy for some reason... i adore your longer videos 💞💞💞 please make more of these
I just looked up cyclops cow . There’s so many living ones!

It's the toucan's foot that moved ig
I'm studying biology and looking forward to get a job like yours
8:54 I feel like I’m playing a video game
With the music you use, I feel like I'm watching a random segment from Mr. Rogers. That's awesome. Keep it up!
I love this channel ❤
Are those birds dead or they added a scientific thing on them
