This is a completely different level of visual genius. Look what the human mind is capable of. To even be able to piece all of this work together the way they have is insane. Brilliant. I am mesmerized.
Just missed the chat - but wow, this is something else. Coming from an environmental sciences background, this way of looking at land use change isn't too foreign to me, but seeing it like this drives home the point that even in industrialism, there is beauty. These particular human infrastructures will probably be inprofitable and abandoned in one or two hundred years at the most, but I can see how someone who hasn't learnt to see the destruction can see the beauty in it. I would pay to view a less-compressed version of this.
@@fuglsnef It doesn't seem to be, but then again, it's only just premiered here. Thanks for the tip though! I was indeed thinking about the compression artefacts in the very fast paced sections. @derek wats I just had a look at the trailer, great photography; maybe I'll even get around to watching it.
"These particular human infrastructures will probably be inprofitable and abandoned in one or two hundred years at the most".....we probably won't be here this time next year because of the complete collapse of Industrial Civilization within the next few months..you heard it here first ;)
Having studied a degree in Building Arts, and with experience of design and draughting of plans, and having qualification in Permaculture, and an interest in the design of sustainable, Earth respecting, settlements, I thought, when watching this, that I was in an edgy, tension filled nightmare. But it is a brilliant and thought provoking work.

Exactly the kind of music and movie combination that must never be separated because that just wouldn't give you the right experience. An amazing job, as per usual.
видео- которое вытаскивает из повседневности, и заставляет (позволяет ) взглянуть на себя и на мир так, как мы ооочень редко смотрим, а некоторые и вообще никогда до этого не доходят.
These artists were made for each other. Cooper's music and the McGloughlin's visuals match and complement each other so well. I'd even say they embody each other.
This feels like one of those powerful moments in a documentary where they tell you the secrets of the universe, then immediately jump cut a bunch of images that screw you up subconsciously...
RUclips compression algorithm be like: "here we go again Mr Cooper"
No joke. The Vimeo link is a must.
Here is the link for anybody searching: vimeo.com/431672375
@@joshraye I'm gonna watch that on 4K tonight, my eyes can't wait.
hehe true.. "There´s nothing to compress here! Move along"
@@Baunmwolle not all hero's wear capes, the quality difference on vimeo WOW
The McGloughlin Brothers could totally make the next Koyaanisqatsi, with a soundtrack by Max Cooper
one can only dream. idk if the worlds ready for something like this yet
Glass is still alive no?
That's what I was thinking while watching it too.
Thank you for mentioning this movie! I’d never heard of it but after looking it up I HAVE to watch it!
@@Aubstract there is 3 of them)
Can anyone imagine the amount of work that went into this film, and of course the music. Immense.
I know this is going to be exceptional, even before I've seen and heard it.
I was right!
And you were right

I mean, it's mind boggling. I couldn't recreate this even if I was given 5 years to do it. Not on my own.

Seriously! I know exactly what you mean, i would totally watch a full length film of this. Reminded me of Samsara
If it's up on the Vimeo channel check it out there, the quality is usually higher especially for these fast paced videos.
