my ex used to do this all the time. "I'm a horrible person, I don't deserve you." after we broke up, I woke up and thought why the hell he kept saying that when he wasn't even willing to change. he wanted me to tell him no, hes a good person (which I did), or maybe he wanted me to settle for the piece of crap he really was.
I was in love with a version of him I made up in my head, a version that actually respected me as a person and wasn't manipulative, and selfish. the illusion was shattered. I got over him pretty quickly because of that.

When I was a shitty teenager I used to do shit like that but my BF wasn't like "oh no babe you're fine" he was like "Yeah that was pretty shitty" and it really helped me grow, it stung but I needed that and we're still together after 4 years. We criticize each other but never gave up, I feel like a lot of my old friends needed this but couldn't take it.

My girlfriend of 7 years started acting like this about 5 years in. Was too hard to fathom cutting her loose, but the psychological torture of seeing this pattern over and over became too great. If I was to begin having respect for myself, I couldn't continue to tolerate her disrespect towards me. That was 4 years ago and I haven't dated anyone since, but I'm okay with it. Lonliness is much easier to emotionally withstand than that kind of abuse.

Hooked me in with sex and kind words then after a month mooched off me for everything and if I said no she told her "friends" other guys she was sending nudes to we broke up and she's with them now just to buy her stuff (a lot of these guys were in a whole other state she would never go to)

i did something similar. it took a couple tries to cut her loose but about two months ago i did it - i had started seeing someone new and i told the toxic girl that it was over for good. i told her we would never be friends out of respect for the new girl. she made a fuss, threw a tantrum, and since then has been bothering me. i had blocked her on everything and did not give her a lick of attention since she threw her tantrum - it feels good to be free of that mess and to be with someone who i can actually feel at peace with.

After revisiting this video after a whole year, i began to see parallels in roughly every aspect of this video to my own relationship. I was basically dating this woman. This video, along with the comments attached to it, gave me enough courage and willpower to finally break free. I ended my 10 month long relationship a hour after viewing this video.
