As a speedrunner of this game that attempted this few years back, I'm honestly impressed with the results you've managed to get. Especially considering it's a blind run and no speedrun tricks were used here. Considering I did this in a singular speedrun attempt using the tricks I knew (at the time), here's some improvements that can be made (on the PC version, which still would be possible on console, but a bit harder): 0. I used Gate Clips, allowing me to skip the levels and go back to them later. Still getting all crystals throughout the run, so there is that. 1. Underwater Levels. Harder on console, but doable. You can go Out of Bounds at various points, allowing you to skip some of the more annoying crates. Allows you to skip all the boxes and, in case of Deep Trouble, to get the red gem, which is very good for this challenge. 2. Getting the red gem and leaving Bone Yard for later by unintended means, allows you to access the red gem path there, skipping the 2nd chase section, leaving the level with 12 broken boxes. 3. The Dino Might route using the yellow gem does work, although requires a bit of saving and loading shenanigans to actually get the crystal. In other news, the fact that you can just walk past the crates in the 1st 2D section of High Time is NOT something I expected to see. Such an easy way to dodge those, compared to some of my attempts. So, with that being said, the current limit seems to be, 14 boxes. Got 15 in my attempt those years ago. And again, very good video! A good watch indeed.
Given Dino Mite is in the third warp room, it is hteoretically possible to get 10 relics before attempting it to get the yellow gem platform, so it's perfectly valid to claim Dino mite as 2 boxes. There's more of an argument if it was earlier, but I think most sapphire relics can be gotten without breaking any time boxes. there are movement techs that get you about as fast as the running shoes and most vehicle levels don't use power ups anyway, so it's a matter of finesse. Plus you have 4 other stages of wiggle room in the final warp room to get the 10th relic.
There's a fairly easy way to clip out of bounds in the underwater levels that may allow you to complete them without any boxes. You basically just swim into the corner of the ground in places where the ground comes up. 23:34 you may be able to clip on the bit of ground those boxes are sitting on, I'm not sure.
For Bone Yard and Deep Trouble exist an alternative: In Deep Trouble if can manage broke only 2 boxes after the TNT, well go for the Red Gem, but in the TNT blocked you need broke 6 boxes non-skippeable and the pilar of boxes try manage to broke 2 boxes in the upper section, obtain the red gem and the Bone Yard level go for the Red Gem route and there doesn't appear boxes In conclusion: 8 more boxes in one level is better than have 11 boxes in another level
I think you can trade a lot of the boxes broken in bone yard for a few extras broken in deep trouble, get the red gem through the alternate exit and go back to bone yard and leave through the alternate red exit and get the broken boxes down to about 11 in exchange for just a few extra broken boxes on deep trouble
There’s a way to get out of bounds on one of the water levels to skip most of the level, dunno if it will help. For outrunning the boulder, I think that’s a PS1 thing not in NST.
Personally, I would count only 3+6+1=10 boxes as broken by you, as the rest was broken by other NPCs. Considering the other comments about OoB in underwater sections and your theoretical skip of the last box it actually IS possible to finish the game without breaking any box by yourself 😀
So i know it was just to beat the game, but i do wanna ask on two things: 1. Since you involved one secret level in this, why wasnt Hot Coco done too? 2. Since you went for N Sane Trilogy and not the OG, where's Future Tense in this run of least boxes broken?
Thanks for your comment. 1. The goal was only the main 25 levels; hence Hot Coco was not needed. 2. Future Tense was released as a free DLC, it is not part of the original game and so I didn’t think of including it. Cheers for watching!
Kind of surprised Crash 4 didn't make a no boxes run a standard in every stage. Course they picked one obscure stage to put it in, but given they give you an optional relic for the developer times, I could honestly see it. (even though I think a few stages are impossible due to stage hazards blowing up some boxes anyway, with intent it would be designed to work)
Now I can’t remember if it is true, but I recall the dino levels and boulder levels polar bear chases etc in the originals don’t count the boxes when they break them, if memory serves correct so if this challenge were done in the original all boxes destroyed by the dino do not count towards the counter. Originals idea was to have you need to get the boxes quick before getting crushed but in this you can just run past and they all count, I’m assuming it was a bit of an oversight if true. So in theory all boxes counted by dino can be avoided if you were to do this on the originals potentially

Thanks for the detailed feedback!
Are the Deep Trouble and Under Pressure skips possible on the NST version?
@@xlaiden I did the run in the NST version, so yes.
@@xlaidenyou should skip the dinosaur levels
Since it is possible to get 10 relics before Dino Might it totally counts IMO.
I really enjoyed both this and Crash 2 no boxes videos! Keep it up!

@ARD would be proud of that monkey bar box skip
great job!! this seems like it took alot of patience and skill

The dinosaur levels are huge roadblocks. The triceratops breaks all the boxes in the chase sections
The flow of these videos are great, alot of other can you beat type videos just talk and talk garbage non stop.
It's theoretically possible to get the yellow gem from the main level route as well.
Oh hey, another banger

Perfect channel 💯

After 2:30 you have the answer. Np guys
I have found a way past them 6 box's in under pressure it involves going out of bounds to do so and u can finish the level with 0 box's
love these
Stupid Dino destroys everything in his path 😭
Would the Death Route save boxes on other levels?
The Secret Warp room entrance for Dino Might counts.

I don’t know if that’s true. I think it’s just the polar bears that don’t break boxes

Your voice is like you hired Morgan Freeman to do it.
