Another excellent review, my friend! Well done! 😎 If I may, I’d like to ask; is the bail arm held to the rotor of these reels with E Clips like on the latest LT and Saltiga models?
@@jpfishingtacklenews195 I ended up buying a 5000 size certate sw, i love it. Had no problem pulling cod and coalfish in the deep norwegian fjords. For some reason my casting distance increased compared to my 2019 certate.
Thank you :) Basically, SW Version's the body is thicker and heavier, the gear is also slightly larger and thicker, the AirDrive Rotor is also stronger and more rigid over the LT models. Especially the 4000 size LT model only has C = Compact model which has 3000 size body + 4000 size spool, so SW 4000 is much bigger and more rigid but heavier.
What would you recommend for jigging, stick baiting and deep dropping aswell as reliability and the overall performance? (The Shimano Twin power 10000, Diawa Certate 10000 Sw 2024, Diawa Certate Sw 2021 or any other reel in that price range. Thank you Diesel 👍
The Certate SW 2024 only has mid-sized options between 4000 and 6000, so it may not fit your needs. Personally, I would choose the TwinPower for its stronger reeling power, especially for deep dropping. Both reels perform similarly, but the TwinPower offers more strength, while the Certate SW is like a lighter version of it.
If you compare to those then I would select Certate. If the line capacity of PE1.5-200m is good enough then I would go with 4000-CXH, but might have used LT5000-CXH to have extra line capacity to stock PE2-300m for variety of fishing including offshore light jigging / casting for mackerel, snapper, mahi mahi type of species, with mono-line pre-spooled.
I am expecting the function-wise they are the same. I can only see one different on the engine plate design that the JDM model has dark line and global one doesn't. 2023 Saltiga also has slightly different colors in between JDM and global but they are exactly the same reel, if you use them.
Hey, what you think, which new Daiwa reels will be released in 2025? Daiwa Caldia? Daiwa BG? Maybe something new for saltwater? Do you know anything? :D
That's what we really wish to know! Haha. Unfortunately we have no information so far. But for spinning reel, we expect new Caldia LT and new Freams LT can be out next year. Not quite sure about BG and Saltist, as they are not JDM model and JDM BG is out at the last year. We heard the SW reel renewal cycle is around 6 years, so if that's true, then new BG MQ could be around 26 - 27ish probably. Currently someone tells STELLA SW and SALTIGA can be out next year, which is a bit scary for us! haha. Let's see :)
Depends on how many line capacity you need, but if that's for the shore jigging, then yes that can be good as PE3-300m capacity. But if you use lure around 10-20g from surf, I would use 4000 or 5000 as I would only need up to PE1.5 normally, or PE2 max.
@@TrungLe-kk7yd H and XH are the difference of gear ratio, which H has lower gear ratio that means it spools slower, but a little more torque and XH are the extra high gear ratio, which can wind up faster but the reeling torque is slightly lower. Both are compatible to the shore jigging as they are not that different. But if I were you I would use XH, as I usually need more speed to retrieve lures and cast again especially from the rock shore in the video, otherwise lure can be snagged on the rock in front.
Yes but moreover, the lightness of the spinning is such really impressive point for me :) I still think TP has slightly more of reeling torque and power but in the middle size, this light reeling can be a big merit.
Good review... Very informative video.. thanks 👍
Thank you very much :)
Nice review. I'm looking for a certate for my son, and a saltiga for myself.
Thank you very much :)
Oh what a great dad! He would love the reel for sure!
I HAVE pulled a 10kg 99cm Amberjack with a Certate 5000 XH. Was a great fight.
Oh wow, 10kg Amberjack! Well done!

Well I haven't opend the parts but from schematic, it looks like one e-clip is there on the line roller side to hold the bail.
I will consider getting one, it has the saltiga gearset but they used a zaion rotor and cheaper spool.
Yeah true, and when I compare to the 2023 Saltiga this reel feels lighter on spinning.

Thank you :)

Yeah boy
Just wondering for the size 5000 and 6000 is there any different in the size
No I don't think so, I compared to Saltiga SW 6000 and this Certate SW 5000, and the body sizes are the same, just different spool size.

Not quite sure about "smoother" but at least lighter than TP for sure :)
