    In numerator it is just 6 not 12 as 2 is already cancelled .. if you correct this you will get correct answer.. and mam your classes are superb everyone can understand it very easily .. Thank you so much for your classes mam

    In the 2nd problem the trial function x^2 is not acceptable for particle in1D box because of the given function doesn't follow the Boundary conditions(does not vanish at, x=l) of particle in a box problem. So you don't have calculate energy applying variation method.
