God, I love the starting song here - that remix of the SMB2 overworld is just PERFECT! I really wish and hope that one day, we can get a clean rip of each and every song used in the show.
As much as I liked the show as a kid, the music is probably one of the few parts that still holds up to this day. Then again, how could anybody NOT love Shuki Levy doing arrangements of Mario music?
Saying that there only "a few parts that still holds up to this day" is a purely superficial and detracting way of pointing out how the rest represent the era in which they were made, a factor that should never be considered an imperfection. You're essentially saying that they're too indicative of their time to be good, which is just ridiculous. None of them "hold up to this day" any less than the music. You just changed your views for the worst. Besides, the standards of this day are dull, sanitized, and overall nowhere near as enjoyable and charming as when this show aired, so judging whether or not something "still holds up to this day" isn't saying much.
"Aw Mario, we're in trouble now. How did we let these pipes get so bad?" "That's because we didn't check on 'em regularly. You know what else you should check on regularly Luigi? Ya PROSTATE."
@Bryan Lumer it's just like plumming Luigi! you get your white gloves on, you get a hand in there, and if you feel some spaghetti and meatballs... you go see your local docter!
To be honest. I think good old Super Mario needs a new cartoon series. I loved all the episodes from this show, Adventures of SMB3, and SMW. With music like this. I think the Super Mario Bros: Super Show deserves a comeback
being honest the show isn't that good, in fact, i would say a reboot with a humor similar to that of Vinny's advetures of Mario & Luigi would work well, mostly since there were tv shows like Rocko's or Ren & Stimpy that type of humour and they were meant for kids.
@@vandyckaldo You're wrong. It was great, and creative, especially for the time, considering that only SMB1 and SMB2 existed in the west when these episodes were created.
If only there was a clean way to rip the Main Theme entirely heard in "Robo Koopa's" ending, the Castle theme heard in "Trojan Koopa," "Toad Warriors" and "The Bird! Both the castle and boss theme always sends chills down my spine! They're my favorite bad guy themes out of the entire show, in fact I'm surprised I'm the first to mention them here!
"YEH SEE LUIGI, WHEN A PAISANO STICKS HIS SPAGHETTI NOODOE INTO A MAMA MIA'S RAVIOLI, A LITTLE BAMBINO COVERED IN PROSCIUTTO COMES OUT ABOUT 9 MONTHS LATER."
I love the score. So many tv shows, movies, soap operas, and cartoons lack a good score these days. Scores are very important but the makers no longer realize that. I miss the good old 20th century.
I like how they made all the Bowser themes in this show remixes of either the caves or castles but rearranges them in different ways to make them sound more sinister. Also the song at 1:51 is Bowser's serious song. Whenever he shows up and this song plays you know you are in deep trouble.

0:24 Suits perfectly with Super Mario Sunshine, also utilizing variations on classic Underground theme (that was also used like a motif for Shadow Mario) and the filtered sound effects of the sea and seagulls completing the effect. The chord variations are similar to the ones on SMS cinematics too. Could imagine Shuki Levy instead of Shinobu Tanaka working on SMS along with Kondo?
You must have been unborn in '80s because cartoons rocked that decade. He-Man, Transformers, Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe, Duck Tales, Chip n Dale...and many more.
Ya mean the remix of the "chose your character" SMB2 theme? That one was my fav' to. :) It really lets you know the heroes are jumping into action. Shuki Levy & Haim Saban did a great job with the show's BGM. Not many people take notice of BGM in cartoons, but they did some of the best ones. (Especially in Inspector Gadget & Heathcliff.)
