To be honest I think the Scanpike almost-pairing was probably one of the better-handled relationships of Vox Machina. Scanlan's proposal was indeed very sudden and the weird feelings and weird conversations following it felt pretty real considering they're in a fantasy world with dragons to kill
Yeah, and in the end when there are no more giant dangers around the world and Scanlan becomes kind of a better person they actually end up together, cause now they can... have a normal relationship without worrying of dying the day after. I think it makes a lot of sense, it's a very different take from the other relationships in the show

Yeah, I have to imagine the LOVM animated version of this would include a slow pane to the side where the rest of the group is listening. And they keep tumbling over each other in astonishment and hysterics about this rollercoaster of a conversation.
Matts reaction to this whole situation is exactly why I love being a DM, I am constantly trying not to let my enjoyment of the players moments interrupt their own enjoyment of whats happening, but you can just see how much he loves this entire interaction, its a great feeling.

I had this idea before C1 ended and C2 started that was what if Campaign 2 followed the children of Vox Machina. Like they played each others children in early adulthood (never the child of their own character). Like Liam played a Perc’ahlia kid, Sam played a half-Goliath that Grog had at some point, Laura played a gnome from Scanfoot brood, Taliesin played a Vaxleth kid (before I knew how that turned out), so on and so forth. It’s definitely a corny idea, and wouldn’t have been as good as what we have now by a long shot. I dunno, just thought I’d share my weird corny idea from years ago with you all.
Ashely gets a lot of shit for her absences, but thats only because every scene Pike is in is an absolute classic
