This is such an awesome spot to witness these ships. Yes….the Duluth and Superior locations are excellent as well. But here at Two Harbors one really gets a glimpse of the majesty of these behemoths in more up close and open location. And too also see the extraordinary skill of docking these. Excellent work as usual 1L2S.

Thank you! I like to occasionally visit Two Harbors for that different perspective.

Such a huge ship, and no one but you waved! Chewing gum in their hair straightaway! She's so graceful, as if she's sliding up to the dock on ice skates. I always love to see her, and thank you for taking the time to film this great ship ~ as always, magnificent!

Thank you! It’s possible others waved and I didn’t see it… but most stood there like a bump on a log. 😀

Would've made it to 2 harbors had it not been for all the road closures during GRANDMA'S MARATHON last June. Beautiful ship. Enjoyed the video. Maybe I'll get another chance to make it up there again some day.

It’s definitely worth a visit. But to catch a ship arrival you have to follow the Marine Traffic app closely. Departures are even tougher to catch, requiring a bit of luck or a lot of waiting. I’ve spent many hours there waiting for departures that never happened.

I seriously prefer your videos over the drone stuff. I know the Shauers do great work, but your angles give a realistic view of the boats. As someone who can't get to those shipping locations very often, these angles make you feel like you're in-person

Thank you! I like the drone photos and videos too. Dave and Gus do amazing work. But for my own videos I like to show the same perspective that visitors to the piers usually see. Plus I know that if I had a drone, it would quickly end up in the lake. 😆

Blue skies, blue water, and a maroon, gray, black and white laker for contrast. Watching these massive boats position themselves to pull up to the ore dock reminds of similar moves truck drivers make while backing to a warehouse or other business. Out of curiosity, are there times when a boat, like the Gott, have to stop, back up, and make an adjustment so the boat's not too close to the dock?

I’ve seen some boats need to stop and make adjustments to their positions before proceeding. But most are able to do it in one continuous motion. 🙂

More than once I wished my truck or trailer had bow thrusters! 😉✌🏼😎

A bit rusty but beautifully graceful ship!
