    Hi I was on holiday last September in Potter Heigham and there was lots of dead fish. What was the cause and has it been improved in 2023

      That was about the time of a tidal surge bringing salt into the area. Generally when this happens the EA close the entrance into the boatyard which provides a salt free haven. Unfortunately for a reason still unknown it didn’t happen on this occasion. Unfortunately this is a fairly common occurrence especially with a rising sea level . It looks devastating but the loss in fish stock is minimal compared to the density of fish in the Broads.

      Happens every year I’m afraid, salt tides get pushed through the broads .
