Thanks man! Yeah, real trees are a far cry from a lot of the art I've seen. The face wasn't something I came across on my walk. It came to me in a nightmare... haha
Nice, in my imagination Beechbone looks completly different, but yours is a true monstrosity in a very very positive meaning of the word. The other trees also look spectacular, especially love the japanese maple. They look really well all painted up, which to be honest I doubted at times when seeing the assemblance. I'm quite impressed. Keep up the great work!
Cheers Kaos :) the creepy look was a holdover from when I was thinking of making them all creepy Mirkwood ents. Yeah, there were times when I wasn't so sure about my sculpting decisions, but I guess there was method to my madness haha
@@windrushwargamers2745 Oh that would've been a cool project as well. Too bad I already have quite a lot of Ents. Yeah, I guess we're all at that point sometimes, I'm thinking about scraping my current project right now, as it didn't really came out as I thought, but seeing these just gave me the confidence to pull through and rejudge the final result
@@Old_Shatterhans that great dude. As I'm doing more conversion work I'm learning that until something's finished it's going to looked incomplete, and that when everything's painted up it doesn't have to look flawless to look great.
@@windrushwargamers2745 Yeah, I should have done it that way in the past as well. So many projects I didn't finish because they didn't came out the way I wanted them to. Well, at least I finished some of them over time. And I'm almost finished now, just need to attach the heads and then paint them :)
Really neat video, lovely to get some historical references aswell as photos from IRL before the actual painting process! 🙂
Thanks Bud, what are you working on right now?
@@windrushwargamers2745 A radukar the beast model, the base is almost the best part xD! Nordic forest.
@@olleonning1747 Nice! would like to see it if you have any pictures- send it to windrushwargamers@gmail.com if you would like :)
The crushed pigment is a great idea! Bases look excellent too.
Thanks very much! I would highly recommend it, they're fairly cheap and are great for adding colour to delicate surfaces like lichen, moss or sand
Awsome man. Who would have thunk looking at real trees would give such good results. The willows face scares the shit outa me hahaha

@@windrushwargamers2745 Id wake up screeming if I seen that hahaha. I love the autum one with the yellow lycen think thats my fave
@@JMACCSArmiesOfMiddleEarth Yeah that's probably the one that looks the most like the tree I based it on.
Dang those're cool. I feel like Ents are the ideal unit to build from scratch, and these have definitely confirmed that
Thanks mate, I would love to see how yours turn out. Feel free to hop in the discord to post progress pics: discord.gg/8UDceRp5jw
Great video! Was nice to see the process :)
Cheers dude! The only time I ever painted anything this big was my wraithlord back in the day.
Great work, Treebeard's face look great
Also I think I've mentioned this before but that last song on the vid is 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks dude! Can't go wrong with slavic women wailing :D
Would love to see how you would do some Wildmen of Druadan Forest
Funnily enough I've had some thoughts about that...
Really impressive and innovative-Japanese Maples are also one of my favorite irl trees….
Thank you :) They do look striking don't they?
