what if you want to go from 3 cards to two on tablet

You can go to step 3: Styling and Layout in the plugin to customise the cards and hide them on certain breakpoints.

Is there any reason when I download my code from the builder my design is half and starts from the top left rather than center. Is it because I had auto layout disabled.

Yes, if auto layout is disabled then the UI won't be the same on all devices and screens because auto layout adds responsiveness.
