We have lots of different brushes and combs. Our Corgis would tolerate, but didn’t like being brushed. Then we got a grooming mitt at PetSmart when we got the pups Xmas photos done. It is similar to the gloves, only no individual fingers. The tines are slightly different and it does trap most of the hair. Now instead of using the stay command to be able to brush them, they will actually push and shove each other to be the one who gets brushed.
I have really been watching his videos for 4 years now. I started watching his videos in 5th grade and am still watching in 8th grade. These videos just bring me joy after doing my homework. From 50K to almost half a million. Good job bro you make quality content and are so organized while you do it. You are a responsible adult and I look up to you for that. You help me realize that I can be successful doing the things I love.
Hey Ryen! I love watching your videos. My cat of 1 year just died from FIP (a fatal, genetic disease) and I wanted to say that I like watching your fun times with Gatsby because it makes me happy. Thanks!
Yo, Im borderline obsessed with corgis but my parents never wanted to let me get one. But, I just had a major surgery and the hospital actually botched some things up causing me more pain, and they agreed to get me a corgi once I recover as a way of helping me deal with the recovery. I'm so excited and I figured you'd share the feeling cuz you also love corgis, I'm so excited. So, ye, just felt like sharing
Supremelordofpie So sad you had a difficult surgery and painful aftermath. I hope you will have a speedy and complete recovery and won’t it be great for you when you can get Corgi kisses to make you feel even better? Good luck.
as a dog bather i would suggest that the slicker brush is mainly used for long hair dogs to help get the knots out. i also would suggest using the zoom groom in back and forth motion with how the fur lays. the zoom groom is the brand i use every day on coats like gatby's. love your vlog, hope the best for you and gatsby.
I have a generic version of the furminator and it works great. But mine's hair still collects everywhere too lol... Ideally we gotta vacuum/sweep literally EVERY day. I ain't there yet, but I'm tryna be better lol. Good luck
Right. Every day almost 2x a day. OMG after we tore out the carpet in our house, its crazy to see how much that carpet was collecting. Im going to look into this furminator. I think we are going to get a iRobot vacuum too. Fingers crossed that helps.
For years, we used a slicker brush on our Corgis. Have to be careful not to push hard, but good fir those perpetually fluffy hind legs under the tail. For the last while we have used a cat brush with 1 row of small metal teeth that are much shorter than the slicker brush. It helps with getting the loose hairs up and then we finish with a soft brush to grab the loose hair,. Here a Corgi joke if you have not heard it before : Corgis shed twice a year. Once is January to June. And then July to December. 😊
I was going to get a corgi for Christmas but I decided to bring in a corgi after college when I’m at a less hectic schedule. So for now I’ll enjoy your videos.
Youth Everlasting Wise decision. Corgis need lots of time and exercise and some of ours had separation anxiety and barked a lot when we had to be at work. A less hectic schedule will be great for you and your future Corgi.
Honestly, a regular rake brush is the best for my corgi. He enjoys it and it gets out so much! I would probably like those gloves or that kong for bathing my corgi.
Awesome! Loved the way you explained. I have bought these Pet Grooming Gloves from Amazon and these are really the BEST. You should check these out: www.amazon.com/s?k=pet+grooming+gloves&me=A23WO1UGWAQP3W&ref=nb_sb_noss
I have 7 frenchies and the zoom groom did the best job removing dead fur from their body. It doesn't collect them on the brush tho. But I use it in the bathroom and vacuum it after. I use it with the brushing motion instead of rotating it like massage. The rubber really grip the dead fur from their skin. I do use furminator too but as you say it do cut the fur and I will not recommend to use it daily, I use zoom groom daily when their shedding season and furminator weekly.
The CHI Double-Sided Shedding Rake and Shedding Blade works so well on our CORGI RAS. Try it out and you wont ever need another brush for your fur monster.
Lool, I use the Zoomgroom, slicker, and then a greyhound comb in that order for my corgi. Once a month the furminator comes out! Zoomgroom really loosens the fur, but definitely works better on my golden vs my corgi
honestly the grooming gloves are my favorite tool during shedding season. You’re supposed to use them in a circular motion, and it’ll take off more fur. Given I use them on my horse, but I’ve tried them on my lab and they work really well on him too.
Zoom groom is best used with wet fur, like during a bath. I like using it by putting the shampoo in the brush then rubbing it in with the zoom groom. It brushes and distributes the shampoo
Baxter, our Welsh Corgi enjoys getting brushed by his Furminator and WOW...does it get rid of dead hair. A few passes and I almost have another Corgi. It also doesn't fly everywhere. Slicker brush....not so much love there which I can't blame him. Even his sister, a Pitbull enjoys getting brushed with the Furminator although she sheds very little Pit glitter. Another fun Gatsby video.
For the 2% that read this, I hope you accomplish your dreams and make them better than you imagine. My dream is to become a successful youtuber one day
Honestly, the best I've found for my corgis is just a cheap plastic comb with a long handle. It's amazing how much fur I get off of them and they like it. They don't like any other grooming brushes or combs I've tried. My cats love the comb as well.
You should definitely try the Les Pooch Silver Slicker Brush FYI it's really expensive. Or Activet (silver). It's worth the money. Use the Kong Zoom Groom for baths. Also I recommend using a conditioner to let the fur loose on the bath.
Brianna McManemin You can try a soft bristled brush. Your Corgi may have sensitive skin because of fleas, mosquitoes etc in some months of the year which can make him or her learn brushing and grooming do not feel good. One of my Corgis tolerates it more than the other. I always give a treat before and after to help them associate something positive (very small treat...but Corgis are thrilled with the tiniest bit of food 😊.)
Cindy Chapman he hates it all year around. I don’t think his previous owners groomed him like he should of been. But trust me he loves his food! He’s on a diet at the moment 😅
I think you must be right. Some owners do not get a puppy used to being groomed. Try doing short sessions and reward with a tasty green bean. Shorter periods more often, lots of pets...hope it gets easier for both of you.
Cindy Chapman I ended up getting a new brush today which he liked a lot better than the others I’ve tried. It was still a hassle to try to get him to sit still. He loves some green beans so I’m going to have to try that too! Thank you so much!
my vizsla Roscoe sheds 24/7 but he has very short fur so we never see it mainly he is on his blankets so his blankets get prickly and need to be washed often search vizsla puppies
You've seen those rubber household gloves at the supermarket? If you dampen them a little bit you'll get a ton of hair off by just petting and stroking. Very good for getting hair out of upholstery as well.
My 1st dog actually really enjoyed slicker brushes. She was a black lab mix and boy did she shed😂 She didn't seem to mind them, but she pretty much enjoyed being groomed overall.
My friend has a glove like that for her cats but the only difference is that it has longer teeth like the blue brush, it holds on to the fur a bit better
Hi Gatsby! Thanks for my replacement T Shirt! So awesome of you! My groomer uses the “Zoomer” to loosen the hair on Pearl during a shed in a soft circular massage motion. I’ll bet you’d love that! Then she uses a high end slicker it doesn’t look like that one but when Miss P is really shedding and gets a deshedding treatment she uses a Furminator. It a beige out!! 😆 Not a white out.... hehehe. Ryen keeps your fur beautiful, I bet you turn heads at the park 🌿. I have my Corgi On Fleek calendar up and Pearl and I love it. Happy New Year 🎉🙌🏻

I use the furminator for my beagle.. and beagles and corgis are very similar so I understand the struggle of their fur I personally think the furminator is the best as I use it a lot we also have a glove which works really well but idk if you can get the same glove as I have in America but I will try and find the company of the glove and I will edit this comment ☺️
I assume corgis shed really bad?? I have a jack Russell that sheds HORRIBLY all over. I use the furminator that works great other than the "combs" are very very sharp and gotta be careful not to scratch his skin and it tends to "pull" some hair out. he doesnt like it. but I dont think hed like any of them
Furminator (or similar) is definitely the most effective! My papa got the ultra soft pocket t-shirt for Christmas and it's great!
TOPI HELLOOOOOOO
Hello again

Topi The Corgi hi topi!!

The Furminator is my fave for all long hair breeds. The gloves also work better in the bath.
I use the Zoom Groom and the slicker brush the most. The Zoom Groom works well and gives a great massage. Thanks Gatsby!
I just bought your calendar for the third year in a row! Seeing Gatsby's smiling face every day makes me happy. 🤗
at 2:43 he was like hurry up im ready
Totally need this video. My corgi’s hair is collecting everywhere. Under the couch, under the table, in the corners, in the car... everywhere
ok
I have a generic version of the furminator and it works great. But mine's hair still collects everywhere too lol... Ideally we gotta vacuum/sweep literally EVERY day. I ain't there yet, but I'm tryna be better lol. Good luck

Lyra, My Corgi would be afraid of a irobot, I bet. I can envision nonstop barking while following it around 😂
For years, we used a slicker brush on our Corgis. Have to be careful not to push hard, but good fir those perpetually fluffy hind legs under the tail. O.M.G your dog is the most cutest thing I have ever seen. Every time I feel sad or lonely I always just type in Gatsby and I will watch him for hours
Awe the look on his face with the slicker brush was priceless hahahahha

I always say that lol!
Echo- Corgi I have that LOL

Dang I have OCD on five different levels
Honestly, a regular rake brush is the best for my corgi. He enjoys it and it gets out so much!

Only been here since last night and Gastby is truly best boi
We bought the Official Pet Ninja for our corgi Banjo, and it works amazingly. We use that and the furminator
Furminator 100% my Corgi, Athena loves getting brushes by it & most importantly it WORKS
The CHI Double-Sided Shedding Rake and Shedding Blade works so well on our CORGI RAS. Try it out and you wont ever need another brush for your fur monster.
This is the first video of 2019!! This is Gastby’s video to relax.
At 0:54 , I love when he whips his head back to see what the sound was. 😂😂
I have a Labrador retriever and they are also known to shed and the slicker brush works really well and she loves it
Lool, I use the Zoomgroom, slicker, and then a greyhound comb in that order for my corgi. Once a month the furminator comes out! Zoomgroom really loosens the fur, but definitely works better on my golden vs my corgi
Your videos always have the best relaxing tone them.
I used to brush my corgi with a regular human nylon brush. It helped a lot with getting lots of fur off and shedding. 😁
honestly the grooming gloves are my favorite tool during shedding season. You’re supposed to use them in a circular motion, and it’ll take off more fur. Given I use them on my horse, but I’ve tried them on my lab and they work really well on him too.

I use the furminater for my corgi, Ducky. They even have a vaccum attatchment that you clip it into and it works sooooo great

I think the gloves are mainly for baths and medicated shampoo to really massage it into their coat
I just got my corgi on fleek merch!
400k YAYYY I cant wait until more people realize the talent you have!!❤️❤️
Happy new year Gatsby and hooman
I have a Pembroke Welsh Corgi too!

I've been waiting for you to vlog, I've binged watched every episode thanks for the new episode Ryen I love you and Gastpy.
Gatsby Is The Cutest Corgi!!
My friend has a glove like that for her cats but the only difference is that it has longer teeth like the blue brush, it holds on to the fur a bit better
I think most of those would work well, especially the gloves, when outside.
Smokey loves getting brushed with the glove brush. We went through 3 different brushes to find the one he liked.
The brush I have for my corgi works super well it collects a lot of dog hair
This was probably Gatsby’s favorite video to film
Awww I love Gatsby 😘💖
Happy New Year everyone !
Your corgi is back
my parents gave me a gatsby corgi calendar and shirt for christmas i love it!!!
Ive only had one brush and my corgi loves it
do these work on humans too? asking for a friend
Haha, I love your comments, Shawn. =)
hahaha!
THE FURMINATOR! FUR SURE!
Corgis have double coats.
Looking forward to more interesting content from u Gatsby & Ryen ☺️
3rd and first like. My dog sheds a lot too. I have a short haired dog who sheds. He is a French bulldog.
I have a Corgidor (corgi/Labrador) and the first gloves you used works incredible but you definitely have to do it outside lol.
What do we do if we have the calendar?
VlogAftercollege+ Happy Saturday!

I have a pony that sheds to much! I tried one of the brushes on my uncles dog and it worked great!
How about the furminator for a golden retriever? They have a two layer coat and have a lot of fur so I’m guessing it would be a good one...
AnimePabu Corgisi have an under layer also.
Cindy Chapman
Ahh I see but with a GR’s long fur I was just wonder if it would be better to use on or not
I don’t have a Golden (my sister had them) and I do not use a furminator myself. I use a slicker with very little pressing down, and a soft bristle brush. With longer fur, you may have to clean out the comb or brush you use. Corgis fur piles up in any comb or brush I have used. Ask your vet if they have any suggestions also. Good luck.
NOTIFICATION SQUAD WHERE U AT!
Idk
maybe you can incorporate the gloves this uour usual brush to reach places you normally cant with the brush
I just got the Furminator at TJ Maxx thanks to you and Gatsby!!! My corgi Paddington enjoys it!
Love u and Gastby as always
I've seen the grooming gloves work great on long-hair type pups (Samoyeds, etc) maybe it's not suitable for corgis cuz they're mostly short-hair. But Gatsby is a great model!
You two made me happy!❤️
we love u and Gastby
I saw this one video and they said that they don’t recommend the furminator because when u brush ur skin after a few strokes she said it hurts!
Hey im new viewer ur vids are rly fun keep it up and keep Gatsby or how u spell it alive for a long time
corgi boi is a good boi
Do some more cooking with corgi, love ur vids keep up the good work
Do you brush against the grain of the fur? I.E. opposite the direction the fur grows. That should pick up a lot.
im trying to get you to 500k im a big fan of gastby and i make all my friends sub to you even my parents so hopefully you pass that bench mark soon!!
Why am I watching this? I don’t have a Corgi. I don’t even have a dog! I have a cat. Oh that’s right! Because Gatsby is adorable
Why don’t you have more subscribers lol I love your channel!
I use the furminator for my beagle.. and beagles and corgis are very similar so I understand the struggle of their fur I personally think the furminator is the best as I use it a lot we also have a glove which works really well but idk if you can get the same glove as I have in America but I will try and find the company of the glove and I will edit this comment ☺️
the gloves i wud just use for the best rubs
Sleek ez is what I use for my corgi. Its amazing. You should try that one :)
Ur videos are amazing dude keep it up ❤️💯💯💯
I assume corgis shed really bad?? I have a jack Russell that sheds HORRIBLY all over. I use the furminator that works great other than the "combs" are very very sharp and gotta be careful not to scratch his skin and it tends to "pull" some hair out. he doesnt like it. but I dont think hed like any of them
Did you change the microphone? This feels the details very well 😎
Hi! Love the Vids! And Gatsby is my Fav Dog!
love you gasby
Gatsby: what are those black gloves 😂
I think Gatsby liked the first one 💗
No doggo shed very much and thanks for the video
