      Really a great shot gun for the money, but the Savage Stevens security has more features with a pistol grip may even be a better bargain. I have seen torture tests and it performed well. China can make some really good guns and knives like SOG. But I have to say I like that 88.

    I have the Savage 320 in 12g and it's as good as anything else I own, incuding a Remington 870 in 12g and a Maverick 88 in 20g. No one can deny the Remington is a better-made firearm, but it was twice as expensive and is lots heavier to lug around. Actually, I'm less inclined to take the 870 to the range as often as the other two because it's so pretty and I don't want to ding it up, so the Savage and the Maverick get almost all the fun..

    • @robbylock1741
      @robbylock1741 4 месяца назад +4

      New out of the box they do look great! Just be very careful and give yours a lot of TLC as the finishes can wear quickly. Quality control in later production was an issue as they sped up manufacturing to meet demand, I've see a few with the barrel turned so that the sight blade was out of alignment and have seen several with timing issues. Once you can get through to Customer Service, they will repair under warrant, but it may take one or two trips back and forth before the problems are fully resolved. But at the price and for a firearm made in the USA, they are nice plinkers.

    I bought a Tula .22LR and though i don’t know the price today i paid 130 bucks for it 6 years ago and though its a little fussy with lighter ammo it is super accurate with most ammo of reasonable quality over 38 grains largely due i think to the exceptional trigger , slightly gritty for the first hundred or so shots but very smooth and consistent after a couple more packs and adjustable down to around 1 /12 lbs with an adjustable first stage length of pull wasted on me as i like the tiniest first stage and 2/12 lbs , it has been totally reliable and I feel confident at well over 100 yards on corvids and rabbits and restrict myself to 150 just because but im still confident thats my limit and not the rife, it’s especially useful with 40 to 60 grain subsonic ammo

    Man, I'd put a Mav 88 up against any other shotgun competitively in any class. It's a great shotgun especially with an 18" barrel for self defense. Light and easy maneuvering to say the least. I have no idea why you said not as good as the Mossberg 500 or Remington 700 - most likely because they have more durable furniture, but that's about it. I have all 3 and find no real advantage to the expensive arms over the 88.

    Heritage Roughrider is a .22 single action not the .38 you were showing. Also the F.I.E. is not a roughrider. There's plenty of footage out there without just throwing filler in the video.

    Only the 88 would i trust. I don't care about any warranty. I care about a guaranty of "click->bang". I had a RAM 3500 with a great warranty, I didn't enjoy using it several times each year.
