Saw Van Ronk many many times and we miss him dearly. I like your Honk! Tx. T-shirt too- We're Honkers up here in Boston/Cambridge. Keep the faith and keep up the good work.
Thanks for shining a light on Dave Van Ronk. He's not as well known as he should be, which is a shame. My fave song of his is his cover of Twelve Gates to the City. His voice is incredible on that track!
I'm certainly a Van Ronk afficianado. Saw him a couple of times live in the 80's in Austin. I learned "Come Back Baby" and "Gamblers Blues" from his versions.
He was such an important influence for me. In the years before Internet it was very hard to get Dave's stuff in Germany. So I've tried to lernand by ear. But then, for a bag full of money, someone sent me Dave's Songbook and his Stefan Grossman VHS Tape. 👍 BTW : I broke with Dylan after I've read Dave's story.
I am a absolute beginner to finger style blues, but I have played bass for many years and started with guitar about 4 years ago, does your course start at a beginner friendly level. Thank you

I never heard of Dave Ronk, but Im due a good deep dive. Thank you
I knew him and learned a lot from him during the lat '50's and early '60's. I never could get the harmonic consistently, though.
So cool you got to hang with him. We’re all following his footsteps. Nice playing as well
Happy Birthday, David! Thanks for all you do. I play Van Ronk's version of Saturday Night Shuffle all the time.

Thank you for highlighting this amazing artist. All I had to hear was, 'Statesboro Blues', and I was a fan.

Wait, what's the story behind Dylan forgetting something about House of the Rising Sun?
Short version?! Dylan stole it from Dave 🙄
@@12barand released it before Dave had a chance to release it himself
Van Ronk got butthurt.
