Bob Dylan cameo is everything!!
🙌
That's what I came to the comments to find out, I was pretty sure that was him, but not positive. Thanks!
Wondering if your struggle and contribution to the art of of music is meaningful and true the game........
Bob Dylan agrees to do a cameo in your video.....SCORE!! Never have to worry about that again.
Wyclef is one of the greatest musician and performer all time..he could switch instrument live on stage in seconds and also do backflips and some gymnastic moves...
You should react more to Wyclefs song that he wrote or produced
Heres the list
- Hips dont lie ft shakira
- Sweetest girl ft akon, lil wayne
- Perfect gentlemen ft hope
- Two wrongs ft claudette ortiz
- 911 ft mary j
- and many more
🙌
And this one which is a CLASSIC and a great video. Highly underrated

We stayin alive is a great song and video. Surprisingly it doesn't matter with the rock actually bangs!
Love the Bob Dylan cameo!
"Lifestyles of the rich and famous. Some die with a name and some die nameless" is a quote from The Lost Boys song "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"
loved this song when it came out . thanks for reacting to it xxx
Guuurrrll, this my road trip song took me from OH to MA. Fugees, Wyclef, so many old school jams. Try son of a preacher man. Your my second subscribe. Love the real from the heart feels.
Havent heard this for years! This is so good!!! Thats why i love this channel 😍.
Thanks for doing this. It means more to me than I can say. Love always.
Haven't even gotten into the vid yet but already thumbs up for reacting to this gem:)...btw...fan of the GoT reactions...keep 'em coming!
Totally agree with the tone and meaning behind the song, but for me there's also an element of Wyclef still being Wyclef and the same metaphor working for a musician on tour for most of the year aligning with the fast money/drug dealer persona situation. Great song and reaction
I always took this to mean the life of a touring musician.
That is what it is 😂 but you can take what ever you want from it but that is the foundation.
Lol well the song actually means that he’s selling drugs out of town and his girl don’t won’t him to go. I bought the album back in 97. Wyclef did a interview and he talked about this. He said it in his own words. When he said at the beginning that this song is dedicated to all of the brothers taking trips down south, Virginia, Baltimore and all around the world, majority of people from NY/NJ area always go down south to trap (selling drugs) and do what they gotta do to bring some money back home to their girl and their families.
It is
no
In the end when his woman was looking for him but can't find it I took it to mean that he died from a bad drug deal. The best songs are the ones with double meanings.
I remember rocking this cd back in the day...'The Carnival"...and just now realized I've never seen the vid...very different from what I remember...like the other version better but still a good song.
I saw Wyclef preform this in Orlando in 1998. Love this album.
This definitely makes me cry thinking about someone taking a risk in a different situation but the feelings are strong
You should check out his duet with Mary J Blige "911"
O my gosh YES YES YES Great song
yes, i vote for that too

Sad you’re the only react to this song on here. And this isn’t the version I’m used to. But great song. Hanks for doing this one.
I always looked at this song as a man being deployed by the military or a job where they have to be away like on the oil rigs.
I think it's a life as a touring musician and how long the schedule is what she was talking about I have no idea.
The song has different meanings, and each tweaked a bit in each iteration. The record version has Wyclef being the voice of condolence to women who lose their lives ones due to packing mules from the south to the northeast. Kanye quotes that meaning when he quotes this song at the beginning of Jesus walk.
"I know I sometimes act a fool, but I'll be gone to November, I got packs to mule..."
Wow India, if that was your choice, or to whichever sub suggested that song, THANK YOU. Wow, so much to unpack with the song and video. Simple, not a lot of lyrics, yet super deep and grabs ya right in the gut. I literally got goosebumps when Wyclef walked by himself in the orange jumpsuit, then the cameo from Bob Dylan himself, he is a very private person, he doesn't do that for many people and it's only if he really likes and admires as a fellow artist. I love Wylcef and the Fugees I can't believe this one slipped by me.
That's is a bar if I ever heard one, also a bar that gave me the chills.
Love this ❤
I heard this when I was so young, so I didn't realize what the lyrics meant. The hook and music is always got me singing music like this. Same thing when Luniz released I Got Five On It 😂 I was singing the chorus not realize they was talking bout weed 😂😂😂😂
One of my favorite artists here
I think this is my fav song of his. I used to listen to his music religiously. But I never thought it was about drug dealers.. I just thought it was about being a dedicated touring musician lol.
This was a smash when it came out! And hes out on the road touring. Thats what the songs about. Trying to make a better life

@@afrolanticanjurisprudence8849 ??
On the surface it is but it’s clearly a double meaning for drug running. The sorrow and uncertainty within the lyrics doesn’t quite match the life of a touring musician.
I remember this song when I was younger was very very popular in the UK.
It’s about going away to do a bid and will not be back till November
Great song. I hope you check out the remix someday that has Canibus in it. The tone is like a complete 180 from this one.
On Spotify there still is the gone till November version (without rap) how I first heard this song.
That’s how I love it the best, my personal opinion.
Melancholy…….
I wore out his "Ecleftic 2 sides II a Book" album
Me 2, slept on album.
nailed him as a smuggler instantly lol
I haven't seen the video since it came out boy do I feel old.
My son really loves this song.
How I always thought of this song is that he is a musician traveling the world and that's why he won't be back until November.
Thank you I was thinking the same thing
bob dylan made a cameo in this video not sure if you noticed it ??
I think she didn't know who is him.
Damn. It's been a minute since I've heard this song.
you are correct, queen. folks here interpreting the video instead of the song.
Could you possibly react to "Sweetest Girl" by Wyclef Jean? 💛
You read my mind 👍
I wore out his "Ecleftic 2 sides II a Story" album
Someone needs to remix home till November, and tracking man by Mos Def
One of the ptettiest so gs ever about running drugs
Perfect Gentleman is good too.
The song is about a carnival worker.
Check out his song with Mary j blige"Someone Please call911".
I don't get the drug vibe from this, my interpretation of it is of an artist touring, and not working 9-5 job. Great tune though and really not my genre
And all you fellas
Going down south
Not making it back
May the Lord bless your soul
Drive-by movies, by a cemetery
If my corpse could talk then I would tell you I was sorry
Just saying...
true, it has nothing to do with drugs
@@Berto2K Wyclef said that the song was about a drug runner, saying farewell to his girlfriend as he goes on yet another long trip. The last line of the song says I know the hustle's hard, but we gotta enterprise.
@@liquidlightz woah this changes everything. Thought it was about seasonal work.
It is unless he says it himself
Please listen to his song Guantanamera
he says at the beginning 'every time i make a rhyme' i think that implies he goes on tour. or is that too obvious
It’s “make a run”, as in drug run.
I had this on a cassette. Nostalgia. Well actually not this one, the remix version with canibus and r kelly on it.
Bubble goose his best song
Please react to "waiting for a star to fall" from Boy meets Girl !
Please react to It doesn't matter by Wyclef Jean ft The Rock (Dwayne Johnson)🔥🔥🔥🔥
I don't want to know, by Gladys Knight
Do you a favor and check out this Tiny Desk Concert! Not only does he share a few good stories, including the one behind this song and getting Bob Dylan to do a cameo in it, but he plays crazy, mad "Hendrix-like" guitar! Godspeed and enjoy! Yeah Wyclef is truly an artist!
ruclips.net/video/EhnLJwmEy_k/видео.html
I am an old OLD white lady and it does my heart good to see you enjoy all of my really old favorite friends and a few of my newer ones! Not only am I home bound with an illness but just lost a son 2 1/2 years ago. When I watch you I feel blessed to have been a part of my generation (despite the drug use that was interwoven through much of it, meaning within the culture itself and my own life, as well as I am in recovery). Also, he is singing about runs to Baltimore and that is where I live!
I like the Dylan cameo, but prefer the record version's line, " hop hop turns to the future of rock when i smash a pumpkin".
This song was influenced by Wyclef listening to Eleanor Rigby and hearing probably rmthe most famous rock band integrate classical symphonic music. This song takes rap lyrics, with a hip hop drum line, and layers on that same kind of orchestral wall of sound.
That is an interesting perspective, drug dealer. For me it was always about a struggling musician. That is the beauty of music. There are always different interpretations.
Yep
React to Debarge A Dream.
It wasn’t about a drug dealer it’s about a drug runner
Probably not a drug dealer, I think it's about being a musician on tour.
Yeh, I never thought he was dealer either.
Na it's actually about drug dealing for real
@@sambanelly4219 he's in the airport with a guitar.
@@SnowTricky yes. Going down South to sell drugs
@@sambanelly4219 fair enough.
Life of a music artist not drug dealer
It's about a drug dealer. Listen to the original version. Going down south is slang. Nvm.🤐
Drug dealer? He's probably talking about the life of touring as a musician and you're away on tour from several months. He's even at an airport with a guitar.
How did you think of a drug dealer lolll xD
Not drug dealing!!! He is leaving with his guitar....
no
He is singing about being an artist ,not a drug dealer..
Why would you go straight to drug dealer? He has the instrument on his back going through the airport. Maybe he's a musician.
I blame stereotypes
she is correct. WTF is wrong with y'all.
@@afrolanticanjurisprudence8849 Not necessarily. The song is suggestive. Its about your interpretation. Im just saying why go straight to drug dealer? Entertainers live fast and die young as well.
How is this about a drug dealer? Just a musicians journey on the road...
no
This song IS about selling drugs
This has nothing to do with drugs loool.
I see how people say that... the making run down south line
it is. stop colonizing.
Bingo !
Nah he is a musician. Musicians tour til November.
