  • Welcome to Level Up - the show where we show you how to solve problems with Google Cloud, hands-on.
This episode is based on Fernando Rubbo's reference guide on Reducing costs by scaling down GKE clusters during off-peak hours, aimed at helping customers to reduce costs by using a scheduled autoscaler that scales clusters up or down for predictable traffic demand. For example, you can save money by scaling down your cluster to the minimum during the night or at other times when usage is lower. A similar approach can also be used to increase capacity previous to known events, such as daily peaks, ad campaigns, weekend traffic, and so on.
