TRANSLATOR'S NOTES:
1: i used he/him despite the lyrics not really having any indication of gender because the MV shows tadashi from Orthodoxia
2: this line references a quote from Guchiry’s song Orthodoxia (what with the villain pictured being Tadashi himself), but is also a general phrase that alludes to schadenfreude in general
3: this is wordplay that could be read: “the idiot drunkards pierce into my heart.” the kanji for “tiger” can also be “drunk/drunkard,” while putting “horse” and “deer” together is “idiot,” so i gave an alt line translation to accommodate for that wordplay :D
4: more specifically, “paradise” is amithabha’s pure land (sukhavati). this is a buddhist concept, specifically pure land buddhism, a sect of which (shin buddhism) is very prevalent in japan. but the closest well-known western concept would be paradise/heaven, so i translated it that way. if you want to learn more, i’d recommend google (i don’t want to put a link so youtube doesn’t flag this comment)

Hello guchigang we will be calculating how far naro fell to the ground when he jumped off the building after his 2nd life. (Using the method from @glowing-seed on the additional memory mv) based on how long it took for him to hit the ground
Naro jumped (and where the fences started appearing) at 3:17, and the scene stopped with a white fade transition at about ~3:31 (or more). problem is we don’t really know when he has really hit the ground because it doesn’t show?? (But then again there was a freeze frame in additional memory mv when ayano hit the ground)
So we might have to assume now and just say ~3:31
Assuming that 3:17 shows the moment immediately after he fell off the building, his total time in free fall is ~14 seconds (= 3:17 - 3:31).
This also means that the distance he fell could roughly be calculated using initial velocity of 0 m/s. But then air resistance plays a part here. But im just not gonna take air resistance to account right now and use 0 m/s
d = (vi)(t)+(0.5)(a)(t)^2
d = (0 m/s)(14s) + (0.5)(9.81 m/s^2)(14 s)^2
d = (0.5)(9.81 m/s^2)(196 s^2)
d = (4.905 m/s^2)(196 s^2)

Not the exact value ofc because I’ve assumed when he hit the ground, initial velocity, there’s no air resistance But this is the closest I can get.
SHORT ANSWER: naro fell around 961.38 metres from the building.
This means he did not beat Ayano tateyama in the free fall race.

↪︎1番2番で感じてきたサビの感覚とは本当に全然違って、特に 3:22 の「天国か地獄が そんなんもう どうだっていいじゃん」って歌詞がラスサビ手前の 3:16 「さようなら ボクの人生」って言葉が見れてるとめちゃくちゃしんどくなる。ほんとそれまでの印象とラスサビの印象にギャップがありすぎて何回も聴きに来てしまう。ハマる。
あと全体的に他の曲で出てきた人達めちゃくちゃ出てくるから「この人ってこの曲の人じゃん！！」って思ってテンション上がる。

Anyhow, as for the explanation:
The MC, Naro Tanaka is a high school student who's rather lonely, as he finds it rather difficult to talk to his peers and to make friends due to his obsession with reincarnation. Because of this, he gets a small obsession with obtaining his own perfect world, he hoped to join a better life, so he attempts to commit suicide by jumping off his school's roof, wanting to become a "main character" like in the many fantastical tales he read. He survives the suicide attempt, however he has memories of reincarnating into two worlds. The first world was a world where he, along with his allies, go to a village to fight a demon lord Tadashi (From another song), however, he's slain. So yet again, he is reincarnated into another world, a student life world where he fights Jiro (From yet another song) who held Michiko (Another song) hostage with a knife. He wins, and gets the affection of her. However, he realizes that this world he's in was nothing but a crude dream that got himself isolated and sneered at, so as to "set his previous life free", he jumps off the school rooftop again, waking up from the "dream" in a hospital. It's up to interpretation on if it actually happened or if it was a dream though.
