I don't see the ALSF-II's Sequenced Flashing Lights on FSX at all. Is there such a thing in FSX?

      Hello Jack,
Great question, and I’m glad you brought this up. ALSF-II’s sequenced flashing lights are seen in FSX when visibility is 3 miles or less. Go to Weather, then User Defined, and reduce visibility to 3 miles or less. Then go to a runway that has ALSF-II such as 1R at KIAD or 4R at KJFK. Wait a few seconds, and you’ll see the sequenced flashing lights.

Can this be changed? Xplane has it by default in Clear weather.

I am unaware of any methods for changing airport lighting as depicted by FSX. In the real world, airport lighting is controlled by airport towers, and sequencing flashing lights are not activated everywhere 24/7. Since they are needed only in instrument meteorological conditions, FSX chose to limit their depiction accordingly. I personally don't see any need for them in clear weather.
