Z. I've watched your videos over many years, may have subscribed back then on another email, not sure.
Just bought an 1972 Opel, I want to hotrod. Caught your Chassis build "How To" video with an excellent approach.
So need to learn to Tig, and stainless has such a beautiful durability and burn in Tigging (Why isn't this a word yet?) them up.
It's a father/son build that hopefully will take root as a trade and career. But this old dog needs to learn new tricks in welding, that being Tig.
My shop, Texas Big here in Texarkana is currently Temporarily Closed for renovation and hopefully will be up and going by 2025 uhg... Today was painting, and going LED for lighting, a modern day approach kick in the butt.
Just want to say THANKS for encouraging the novice to pick up a torch and tips for even the self claiming Pro's.
Now off for my Starter set to make it a dedicated move towards Tigging. (Just add it to the dictionary!)
The tig225 is such a great machine!!
Regarding the exhaust-
Do you set up a fixture to keep it in place, or just a second set of hands and some tacks?
Do you let the part cool (more than 10 minutes) inbetween passes to control the heat input/warpage?
What are the big "do and don'ts" with a job like this?
When you are doing stainless exhaust jobs do you like to use the machine pulse or just pedal modulation?
Have you used Solar Flux instead of back purging on stainless exhaust?
I have, seems to work fine. I mix it with denatured alcohol into a good consistancy. Paint it around your joint and weld away.

When welding stainless steel exhausts, do you have any tips when welding on V-band fittings?
As a new customer come lately, I'd like to see the chill bar kit and the exotic metals make a return.

For an NA exhaust do you need to back purge?
Anyone try 16mm fixtures in their prime weld table? Do they fit better than 5/8? I know they say it’s 5/8 but curious

Hey, I was wondering what you would recommend for someone just getting into welding. I'm going back to school for welding and fabrication, but have no experience, as my background was in graphic design. Any advice on where to start would be great.

I want to know if you're going to back purge and how you're going to do that with a regular regulator? Hopefully? I would love to know how to put a water-cooled torch on my current PrimeWeld tig unit. Never sure which adapter to get probably the thing that has stopped me from water cooling my machine.
when you go to a water cooler you will need to get a water cooled torch to go with it you can look here at weld metals or prime weld to get you set up
