    Incredible! Would you also like to do a video about the effects on this synth? Maybe just selecting different effect presets and showing their default values via edit screen. Playing a few notes, maybe changing one parameter and playing again to hear the result. I'm trying to find out more about how to simulate the digitech sound!

    Good demo. Yours doesn't sample because it does not have the Sampling Option. You can still load in samples if you have Sample RAM installed though. It's one of the most powerful synthesizers ever.

    • @SYQdance
      @SYQdance  8 месяцев назад

      Oh, I really don't know! :) Probably the oldest one there is, since I never did anything close to updating it at all.

    • @ShallRemainUnknown
      @ShallRemainUnknown 6 месяцев назад

      @@SYQdanceActually, notice it says "VAST Player" on it, so you have the "VP" (or actually "VPR", since it's rack), which was the last K2000 model released, in April 1997 or later, and had one of the later OSes 3.54, by default. However, it's very worthwhile to update to the very last OS 3.87 for more great functionality. You will need to re-burn existing EPROM chips, buy new ones and burn, or buy already burned ones, not a big expense.

    • @SYQdance
      @SYQdance  5 месяцев назад

      @@ShallRemainUnknown Oh, thanks for the insight! I will probably leave it as it is, since using the factory ROM samples is giving me enough retro vibes, so I won't bother opening this thing up in the future. :)

      @@SYQdanceJust the K2500 patch compatibility might be worth it, even if you never load samples.
      OS v3.87 adds to v3.54:
      SCSI Speed Improvements. Now loads and saves approximately twice as fast as previous versions.
      Export to standard MIDI Type 1. Now the software can import and export both type 0 and type 1 MIDI files.
      ISO 9660 format support. Adds ISO 9660 format support for CD's. This allows you to read CD's in the standard format. Previously we required an "image" of the hard disk format.
      Supports looped WAV files, both import and export. Also correctly handles tuning of WAV and AIFF files. Saving a WAV file will now export the loop info, if any. Importing looped WAV file will now get the loop data, if any. The software only handles one loop per sample, so the first loop found in a WAV file is used.
      Now reads 2500 programs. Previously the 2000 would ignore programs containing 2500 specific parameters. Now it translates them, stripping out any KDFX or other 2500 parameters.
      Improved object save and delete times.
      Improved sample delete times.

    • @Deatg-ek8rf
      @Deatg-ek8rf 5 месяцев назад +1

      @SYQdance Yeah. It probably wouldn't be fun wouldn't it, on the old Akai units it is quite enjoyable though, the OS on the S950 expecially basically guides you through the process of sampling a break even asking you what sample rate kind of motivates you lower it, even if you've never used a sampler before the end result will likely a punchy 12 bit break. But your rite outside of that era of Akai, a lot of operating systems and interfaces are from hell, even Electron today are confusing, to the point the Octa I a no from me just on that regard alone.

      @@SYQdance ok man, anyway thanks for the answer. I just received my K2000r, and not much famous with all the settings, just learning it. Can I ask you how to cut off velocity and make a volume higher, it's very low volume through my Audio Interface(

      @@SYQdance Mate, what Delay effect did you used from K2000 here?

    • @SYQdance
      @SYQdance  2 месяца назад +1

      @@NatLifeSounds Yeah there might be differences in the presets, never thought about that.
      Things regarding volume and velocity should be somewhere in the AMP section, IIRC. To be honest it is quite some time ago, I actually programmed on this thing. Back in the days I was way more familiar with it.
      For the delay I might have cheated and just used the one in Cubase, coz' the effect routing is a little bit limited on the K2000. But it is the most simple delay on can imagine. Just a copy of the signal ... delayed. ;)
      btw: I think I remember your name from some old tunes with Rene Ablaze for example. Nice stuff!
