Trick is to not be doubling up on pre-amp tone. i.e decide whether the HD500 is going to do the preamp tone or if your amp is. If you HD500 is then put it into your amps FX loop and turn the HD500's cab sim off. If you want to use your amps preamp then turn off the amp simulation completely on the HD500 and use it for effects only then go into the front of the amp, (or possibly in the FX loop depending on what you want to achieve FX wise) - Mark
@VelhosNovos I don't think there is a limit - you could put a drive effect in every FX block if you wanted to, so 8 in an HD500 & 4 in either the HD300 or 400. If you used all 8 FX blocks for drive pedals, you'd have none left for any other type of effect (although you could have an amp model too).
I would love to see you guys do a video with the POD HD500 and how to connect it to a Line 6 DT50 amp using their Line 6 Link, and show us where you plug in the instrument using the XLR cable in the Line 6 Links on both pieces of equipment. Please, please, please.
I think digital processors can sound good - I do use mine, a L6 PodX3 - but I notice the sound is "thinner" than a real amp rig, EVEN when plugged into a real tube amp. How do you guys REALLY feel about L6s, Bosses, Digitechs, etc?
Hey can you guys do a demo on the difference in in front of the amp and through the effects loop with the 500 and how to control them as far as volume and eq. I don't really understand it but I know it's a difference especially if you download patches you have to use the effects loop and I go in front of My amp thanks guys
Hi man! Congra! How many drive effects you can use for each time? For example - I start playing a song with a "low drive" and in the middle of song I need to add a hi drive... is it possible?
Can you guys tell me what is the best way of using the HD500 for home-use, I want to put it through an amp to be honest like a fender twin but then I see this 4 cable method and it does my head in, does that mean I would have to add an FX block to every single bank, that would take ages!! You guys have a great tone on here, what is your set-up on this video? I find it very disappointing to be honest.
THIS WAS VERY HELPFUL! And I love the gorillas:). How would you run this processor into a tube amp (Marshall TSL100/JCM2000) and retain the tonal qualities (in through the front/in through the fx loop) ? I've always been a transistor amp guy using a processor and sending it to the fx loop input but I love the ambiance of this Marshall (tube amps are new to me) and I'm having trouble finding the right blend of "Marshall amp" with the preset effects I normally use. Any help?
Wow, what a find... Younglings... video production level has slight improved... Great to see this!

@AndertonsMusic It is great! I didnt know about that. I thought I could just have one or two drive for each time. I am going to buy it for me. Thanks!

what amp is 4:59?
Does it have a gap or lag while changing presets?
All are equed! Because their amp has uneccesary bass with them
